    Real Style: Atlanta’s Food Rave

    by Claire

    Hey Guys!
On Friday I attended Atlanta Food Rave, an event that offers dishes from the best chefs in ATL, along with drinks and entertainment. I came to simply eat and catch up with one of my best buddies, but of course couldn’t help but notice and photograph a handful of stylish people in the room.
    Take a look:

I first stopped Hikmah, a hairstylist for Heir Studios (www.heirstudios.me). I loved her strapless romper, bedazzled shoes, and how her light blond hair brightened her whole look. The sparkly charcoal clutch was a nice touch.

How cute is Candisse? Her voluminous afro and tiny top hat were interesting accents to her cream baby doll dress and simple sandals. The poet and writer admitted she purchased her hat at the Disney store. Snaps for creativity and turning a child’s toy into a stylish trimming.

And Christian looked dapper in an H&M cardigan and pink button down. My friend and I both loved his cardigan’s scholarly elbow patches. He was kind enough to show them off to us:

    It was a fun night!

Atlanta will be my homebase until I move back to New York in the New Year. I’m excited to see what the Peach State has to offer!

In the meantime in between time, I’ll be going to New York and Paris Fashion Week…follow me on Twitter @TheFashionBomb.

What do you think of this edition of Atlanta Real Style?

    Smootches!

    *Thanks Tara!

    Swagger Mondays: Wildcat Ebony Brown

    by Claire

    Hey Guys!
Today Swagger New York sent us a picture of Wildcat Ebony Brown, a stylista who caught their eye thanks to her colorful shield sunglasses, vibrant t-shirt, and shaved hairstyle accentuated by a lone feather:

She continued her Native American inspired influences with a dream catch necklace and various necklaces:

Her style would be hard to pull off for anyone…but her. She’s bold and daring.

    Love it.
    Does she have swagger?

Swagger Mondays: Amber Spotted in Union Square

    by Claire

Swagger New York had to stop stylish Amber when they spotted her multicolored shorts while walking in Union Square:

She accented her high waisted bottoms with a denim top from Walmart and ankle wrap flat sandals.
A cute, simple look for a weekend outing.
What do you think of her look?

Swagger Mondays: Amy Spotted in Williamsburg

    by Claire

Today Swagger New York brings us Amy, a student at the New School spotted while strolling in Williamsburg, NY:

The model like minx looked cool in Alexander Wang crushed linen shorts, a knotted Zara belt, a roomy tank, and chic round sunglasses. Loves!
What do you think? Does Amy have Swagger?

Real Style: Pieces 10th Anniversary Celebration

    by Danielle

    Hey Guys!

Danielle here with a little peek into my NYC life.

This weekend me and the homey Lipstick Fashion headed down to the Pieces 10th Anniversary Celebration at Kai Studio in Brooklyn. If you’ve been reading The Fashion Bomb for a while, you’ll know that Pieces is Claire’s favorite place to shop in the States. And if you’ve ever stepped foot into this delightfully fab boutique, you’ll know exactly why.

I remember going to Pieces and every time I went I felt like a superstar because the owner Latisha Daring (pictured above at left) was so attentive. Not that fake kind of attentive when the shop owner thinks you might be giving yourself a 5-finger discount or one who tells you to “Hurry up and buy!” but a super genuine attentiveness that felt like one of your best girlfriends was shopping right along with you. It’s no wonder why in a world where many businesses close within a year of opening that Pieces has been so successful. Having cool clothes can only get you so far—a winning spirit like Daring’s gets you longevity.

For you aspiring boutique owners, Latisha gives this advice: “Be passionate about what you do and find your niche. You always have to reinvent yourself to keep fresh especially when competitors move in nearby“. Truer words have never been spoken.

So once inside these gorgeous models (above) were posing and posing and posing while wearing items from Pieces’ new in-house label set to debut this fall. Can’t wait to see those.

And of course I had to check out the fashionable folks inside. I actually saw this young lady’s hot dress while waiting to get in but figured I’d at least wait until we were settled inside before I approached her…lol.

I absolutely love both the shape and color of her dress. You can’t see it very well in the pic, but her hair also looked like she just stepped out of a stylist’s chair. Miss honey was working everything! Too cute.

Then I happened upon this crew of friends each with their own individual style. Love it!

I couldn’t get enough of these ladies’ dresses and shoes. Niiice.

These two ladies were barely inside for 30 seconds before I tapped them on the shoulder for a pic…lol. Love their accessories.

And finally I loved this girl’s hair and cute one shoulder dress so much!

    That rounds it up, folks!

What do you think of the style at Pieces 10th Anniversary Celebration?

    ~Danielle

PS Visit Pieces online at www.piecesofbklyn.com or pop into the store when you’re in New York. They’re at 671 Vanderbilt Avenue in Brooklyn!

Real Style: Vibe Luster’s Smooth Touch Party for Letoya Luckett

    by Danielle

Going to parties after my day job makes me realize that I’m getting old…lol. But I dusted my dentures off, oiled my joints, and saddled on down to Manhattan last night to attend the Vibe Luster’s Smooth Touch Party in celebration of singer Letoya Luckett’s debut as their hot new spokesmodel. How cool is that?

Luster Products Inc, a black-owned and operated hair company that has been in business for over 50 years, launched the Smooth Touch line of products geared to meet the needs of younger, style conscious women who want healthy, head-turning styles (sounds like us!) and tapped Ms. Luckett as the brand’s face.

The line includes products formulated for relaxed and natural hair and include:

Smooth Touch Go Glitz Olive Oil Sheen Spray
Smooth Touch Hydration Vibe Olive Oil Hair Lotion
Smooth Touch A Reason to Gloss Shine Polish

and for those who relax, Smooth Touch New Growth Relaxer Kit with Triple Strength Olive Oil Conditioner

Find out more about the products here.

So after checking-in I electric slided into the main room and caught a glimpse of both Letoya Luckett and actress Keshia Knight Pulliam looking head to toe GORGEOUS!

Let’s just say photography isn’t in the cards for me…lol.

Both ladies were super sweet. Letoya is very humbled and excited to be the face of Luster’s. Her pic is on the relaxer box :)

And I also decided to channel my inner-Claire and snap some Real Style pics. Now, I’m not as smooth as Claire is with this so I missed a few names. If you’re pictured and you’re reading please let me know who you are…lol.

I loved this girl’s pretty-in-pink one-shoulder dress and how she contrasted it with the black belt and shoes. Her name is Jewel Danielle and she has an accessories line coming out so I’ll have more info on that soon.

This fly guy is Aldin Morgan and he’s on Jewel Danielle’s accessories line team. I love his fitted jacket paired with jeans and accessorized with those fly shoes, newsboy cap, and Louis Vuitton messenger bag.

Next up, this foxy lady’s jumpsuit and straw hat were too cute to pass up. I love her arm candy, too.

This cutie’s classic navy blue wrap dress caught my eye. Love how she paired it with the tan belt and shoes. Cute smile to match.

I fell in love with this statuesque beauty’s chic white shorts, jacket, and lovely pearl bracelet.

And last but not least these two gentleman came through in some sharp jackets paired with jeans looking too smooth.

Well that wraps up the event!

How did I do on my first go of capturing Real Style? (BTW, nobody has on yellow contacts–that’s the flash…lol)

Will you be checking out the Smooth Touch products?

    ~Danielle
