The aspiring fashion merchandiser and model added edge to a chunky scarf and readers with a chic cut dyed honey blonde (she cut her hair after a friend was diagnosed with cancer). A heart of gold, and style to match? You can’t beat that with a bat.

I’m rushing to get a few posts up, as I’m heading off to LA today to attend a dinner for Olympic hopeful Jason Richardson. More details on that later:)
To tide you over, I figured, why not profile an LA stylista, like Connie Min spied in the East Village?

The true diva caught the eyes and the lens of the Swagger New York street team, undoubtedly due to her fly cape, bright lips, chic sunnies, and confident pose. Sure, there are a few things I personally would edit out–the shorts and stockings perhaps–but her overall look oozes Swagger.

Swagger New York’s newest subject is Wisconsin native and St. John’s student John Spence, who, inspired by a Tumblr photo, artfully intertwined daffodils in the laces of his boots:

He continued his horticultural theme with a rosebud bowtie, and added a dash of pinache with a King Jaffe Joffer inspired fur wrap and a cowboy hat.
The beauty of New York is that you can come here and be whoever you want to be. Sure, accent your everyday suit with a rose garden–noone will look twice. And hey, you’ll probably end up on a style blog.
I think John’s look is…interesting, but refreshing and unique. Not many men could pull off daffodil laced boots.

There’s no better intersection than Broadway/Lafayette in Soho to spy chic New Yorkers!

Stylist Nigella Miller was papped by the Swagger New York team while en route to do some last minute holiday shopping:

The Brooklyn native kept it funky with turquoise tresses, a leather sleeve wool coat, and flat lace up boots. It’s sometimes hard to find clever ways to brighten a dark winter look of grays and blacks. It looks like Nigella has it all figured out, exuding style down to her green fingertips.

We’re starting off Swagger Monday Real Style with a splash with the colorful Asha spied in Soho:

While Coco Chanel suggested women take one thing off before leaving the house, Asha piles everything on, from patterned stockings to shockingly pink scarves to camouflaged hats. The stylista isn’t afraid to be bold–check out that blue lipstick and nose jewelry.

The chilly weather this weekend didn’t stop Columbia University student Tanea from embracing color and bare legs! Swagger New York caught up with the young lady on campus, and couldn’t help noticing her vibrant shirt and printed skirt:
