Our Style Inspiration from yesterday got me thinking about other looks we could put together with a more casual bent.
Since V-Day falls on a Sunday, most of you will most likely opt for cute jeans over cocktails. Well whether you’re just starting a relationship or settling into an old one, you can’t go wrong in skinnies and pumps. Take a diversion from the bright red crowd in an outfit that marries classic gray with pink:
If it’s cold in your neck of the woods, throw on a chunky gray cardigan or jacket over a pale pink tank. Add touches of femininity with a flutter flower clutch, pink shoes, and pink studs:

Hey!
So Leila from New York wrote in with a specific Style Inspiration request!
She said, “Can you do something a bit more casual? I have a date with a guy I’ve only been seeing a few weeks. It’s Sunday night, so I don’t want to dress up. And he’s short, so no heels!”
Sure! Wear your favorite slimming dark jeans with a pair of flat black boots; show your Valentine’s Day Spirit by either rocking a fun, tongue-in-cheek t-shirt, or incorporating a low cost red jacket. Add subtle touches like red nail polish, and finish by wearing a quilted cross body clutch or your standby black tote:

Here are a few separates that should help you achieve the look.
Have fun and stay tuned for more style inspirations for every budget!

Hey Guys!
We’re back to our Mail Bombs in our new and improved format!
One of our most common questions, aside from what to wear for a birthday or wedding celebration, is what to wear to a Beyonce concert!

Janika says, “On the 18th of February Beyonce is coming to Trinidad and I would love to know what I should wear for this event! I’ll be in V.I.P, but I really don’t want to wear heels. Also I don’t want my outfit to look too casual. I would wear heels with my outfit, but only as a last resort. Please help!!”
As we said here, stay comfy yet look VIP ready in a pair of jeans in a dark wash topped off with a t-shirt and blinged out sequined jacket. If you’re very averse to heels, go for cute, flat boots, or try booties with a low or wedge heel (they’re not so bad):

Ericka says, “I finally got tickets to the NBA all star game and I have no clue what to wear:( Can you please help me find something fashion foward but on a budget??”
For clues on how to look cute courtside, look no further than basketball soon-to-be-wife Lala Vazquez:

When supporting her boo Carmelo, she keeps it saucy in all black, wearing anything from sweater dresses with knee high boots and statement bags to ruffle trimmed jackets with skinny jeans.
Other basketball enthusiasts like Rihanna and Ciara…

Take in the game in anything from crisp white button downs to Moncler jackets. The common denominator: jeans for comfort, heels for kick. Get a game ready look with these:

We’ve done plenty of Valentine’s Day preparation for the ladies, but not enough for the men!
Today’s look is for the dapper gentleman who wants to celebrate V-Day with subtlety:

Not one to go over the top in all red everything, this handsome stylisto favors a classic look consisting of a soft textured velvet blazer, crisp button down, and blinged out watch. He keeps it somewhat casual in dark wash jeans and references the holiday with pops of red in his sneakers and scarf.

Note: Add a pair of sunglasses for extra swagger.

Today’s look is for the woman of a certain age who embraces her curves and oozes sensuality:

The draped $117 Isabella Olivier dress goes up to a size 14, and can be worn for a myriad of occasions past Valentine’s Day. Pair with fishnet pumps, a romantically ruffled clutch, and sparkly earrings. Spray on your fave fragrance and make your eyes pop with dark mascara:
You can, of course, substitute in your own accessories, but keep ‘em subtle. The dress stands out on its own!
