With the Alexander Wang “Freja” Lace-up Bootie being such a hot commodity last season, it would be soon before long that other designers came a knockin’ with their interpretation of the shoe. Enter the Gianni Bini “Rocker” Ankle Boot. The similarities are stark between it and Alexander Wang’s with the fold-over flap at the top, the open-toe, and the zipper piping that’s practically all over the shoe. But with similarities come differences. A. Wang’s version is obviously made of top quality leather and actually has a shoelace effect going on. And Gianni Bini’s version? Well…it lacks both the aforementioned. With top quality leather, however, comes a price that may put a hole in your wallet. The “Freja” bootie costs $895, but it seems to be sold out everywhere. The Gianni Bini’s? Only $100.
So would you spend a wad of cash for the name and the quality, or prefer not to splurge on a trend item?

Happy Friday Bombshells!
It is soooo hot in Paris. I’m wondering if I can wear a bathing suit to work?
While I contemplate, let’s solve some Mail Bombs!
First up Nakia says, “Can you help me find this outfit Solange is wearing?”

“Especially the pants!”
According to the article, Solange paired a vintage jacket and Max Azria silk top with Zara pants and YSL shoes. You can get a similar look with these options:
Vanessa loved Keri Hilson’s BET Awards Look:

She says, “Where can I get her dress or something like it?”
A quick search found Keri is wearing a vintage Bill Blass dress. If you want a similar look for less, the Get Whit It girls found the following:
Allana says,
“I love the blue blazer Cameron Diaz is wearing in this pic and I need it in my life.”
“…Please help me find a similar colored blazer. Thanks!”
We did you one better and found you her whole look! Check it:
Lastly in a wardrobe query, Chesley says, “I was wondering if you could help me. My mom gave me some green suede high wasted shorts (or as she calls them hot pants lol).”

“… I really love totally vintage, but I’m having a hard time finding what to wear with it. I wondering if you could give me some ideas of tops and accessories I can wear with it. I attached a picture of the shorts to the email. Thanks in advance!”
Outfits are best when you balance them out. So, if you’re wearing tight shorts, you should definitely opt for a loose fit top in a neutral color that will allow your shorts to stand out. To avoid looking too saucy, pair the look with flat sandals or sensible wedges for a casual weekend look. Make it all pop with a funky necklace that captures a bit of the color of your shorts:
That does it! Stay tuned for more wardrobe queries and a surprise Breaking into Fashion subject!

Designer Alexandre Vauthier is giving new heights to shoulders thanks to inventive silhouettes and a ‘more is more’ attitude:

The Paris based couturier and former head designer for Jean Paul Gaultier Haute Couture has already found fans in Rihanna and Monica, who flock to his awe inspiring and conversation starting pieces. He unveiled his first collection in January 2009, and has since had two other couture shows:

His signature style plays with extremes, marrying bold shoulders with even bolder plunging necklines:

His summer 2010 Couture collection featured lots of primary colors like eye catching red, green, and blue.

He reminds me of a new age Balmain. I love it!

The young talent was up for a prestigious ANDAM award to establish his own couture house in Paris. Though he didn’t take home the final prize, I still think he has tremendous potential.
See more of his designs here. He’s one to watch.
