Happy Monday!
How was your weekend? Mine was spent bussing it to Baltimore, MD to hang with the homies Lipstick Fashion and Scandalous Beauty at an Oyin Handmade event. I bought some delicious hair and body goodies (Juices and Berries, Shine and Define, Cuppajoe Soap, and currently kicking myself for not buying a huge container of Whipped Pudding) and then headed home to realize the air conditioning and Bolt bus “scents” left me with a sore throat. Grrr.
At least looking at pics of celebs helped to make me feel a little better while stuck in the house on a beautiful summer day. Let’s take a look at who was out and about–especially since there weren’t many to speak of last week.
First up, Ciara was spotted at Usher’s New Look Foundation’s 1st Annual World Leadership Awards. She looks really pretty and I love her hair and makeup. But I just wish the camera didn’t pick up her lace front glue like it did. Ciara would have been killing this pic if it didn’t. I mean she’s still killing it, but—well, you know what I mean!
First Lady Michelle Obama was continuing her trip to Spain. Can I just say that I will probably be calling Mrs. Obama “First Lady” for like forever? Like even when she’s no longer in the White House. *loving sigh* I’m loving her gorgeous skin and glowy cheeks. The look is completed with a slicked back ‘do. Hot!
First Daughter Sasha Obama was along with her mother looking so cute and adorable with her ballerina bun and smooth skin. You know, if I were still 8 Sasha would be one of my major beauty icons? When I was actually 8, it was Rudy Huxtable (so imagine how geeked I was when I got to meet Keshia Knight Pulliam)…lol.
Then over in LA, “In a Perfect World” and Shaun Robinson hosted the first annual “I AM PERFECT – EXACTLY AS I AM” event celebrating teen girls. The host looked cute with her glowy skin and oversized bun, but my attention became completely fixed on the little future entertainment reporter to her right. How cute is that little girl!?!?!? May a relaxer never touch her tiny little head—says the girl who relaxes herself…lol.
Actress Garcelle Beauvais was there as well looking all “Fancy”. Love the curls and the glowy cheeks. Hot!
High School Musical alum Monique Coleman also stopped by. Her makeup is perfection and I love her pastel purple nails. Her hair looks a little hat-ish though—a bit much for such a pretty girl.
And rounding out the event, Laila Ali posed for a pic with Garcelle. I LOVE her long slightly wavy locks and pretty makeup. Laila can do no wrong in my book. Hot!
Over in NYC at the New York Stock Exchange, superentrepreneur Iman posed for a pic with Essence Communications President Michelle Ebanks. The ladies were celebrating Essence magazine’s 40th anniversary. Michelle looks—presidential, while Iman looks every bit of her usual glamorous self! Hope I look like this at 55—heck, I hope I look like this NOW…lol. SIZZLING HOT!
Over at the Axe Lounge, the super fab DJ Kiss was on the 1s and 2s looking beautiful in her bright pink lip. Hot!
