While Fashion Bomb celebs and style stars were working the green carpet in Cali at the 2011 BET Awards, I was getting reacquainted with my old Brooklyn neighborhood at the Fort Greene Festival. Hundreds of cool and stylish folks gathered to listen to artists like Res and Mos Def in Fort Greene park. I couldn’t resist taking a few pictures:

I roused singer Raye 6 (www.raye6.com) from her picnic blanket to snap this picture on the grassy knoll. Her hair was simply mesmerizing, and her Dig Deep bracelets and African inspired earrings were scintillating and chic.

I next stopped Yvil Yves and E. Flux of Lifted Crew (www.liftedcrew.com) by the food stalls. The cute pair looked summer ready in retro shades and bright accessories. Their hairstyles were fun and uplifting.

Stylist Toni Renee (www.tonirenee.net) looked cute with her pooch and Moschino high waisted shorts. A Dickie’s top and red lipstick completed her summer ready ensemble.

Visual artist Nelson Caban (www.nelsoncaban.com) hopped onto the colored blazer trend in a pastel blue beaut over an artistic tee. His lemon yellow Converses added a nice touch.

Stylist Tiffani Moore (www.abittmoore.com) worked a reconstructed vintage dress of her design and a fly Forever 21 ‘glasses’ necklace.

Miatta and friend Unique lived up to their names in captains hats and funky wigs. Their outfits were from Buffalo Exchange and Hanes, but they made it work in their own ways.

Lastly, I ran into Jovel, who we featured in this snapshot. The blogger for www.the-no-names.com was rocking with an Altru tank, H&M cuff, Mayan Tamang “Stop Biting” fitted cap (New Era), Kooaman Cargo Pocket Cotton Pants, David Richard Ltd. Desert Boots, vintage belt, and thrift store frames.
Dope boy fresh.
What do you think of the style at the 2011 Fort Green Festival?
