Believe it or not we have quite a few male readers, and it’s always delightful when they send in their pictures for Fashion Bomber of the Day. Sometimes they submit classic button down and khaki ensembles, but most times the men we see incorporate fun flourishes like harem pants, patterns, and funky haircuts.

- Tomik from Atlanta
Though comments are typically mixed (some love it, some loathe it) there’s invariably a following refrain: “I like my man to dress like a MAN.” With Tomik from Atlanta, MedSchool wrote, “My opinion is biased because I like my men to be men. That does not mean pants hanging off their bums, but we cannot share clothes…..and worse off you BORROWING my clothes. *no ma’am*” But then again, Jennifer said, “I can kind of dig the masculine take on women’s wear (a delightful alternate to fashion’s women-in-menswear obsession).”

- Roman from New Jersey
With Roman from New Jersey (above), Too Cool wrote, “I dont know… what happened to men dressing like men… but anyone confident enough to leave the house in some of those fits will always get major props. After all, he aint getting dressed for me…”

- Jeremiah from Virginia
And finally, with Jeremiah from Virginia, Whtup Ferg said, “Someone once said, ” what happened to men dressing like men?”

- Cameron from Baltimore
My question is: when did harem pants, handbags, and funky haircuts become exclusively feminine? Why can’t men have fun with fashion? And why can’t the definition of dressing ‘like a man’ expand to include masculine takes on what is typically thought of as womenswear?

If we borrow from the boys, what’s wrong with them borrowing from us?
What do you think?
