Hey!

So for Day 1 of Mercedes Benz Fashion Week, I decided to play with color, pulling on my favorite J.Crew Blythe Silk Blouse in fetching purple:

I added a bit of contrast with an oversized orange clutch by Cashhimi:

Along with bright yellow patent leather pumps from Christian Louboutin (the heels are reasonable, so they’re not too much of a pain to walk in):

I anchored my multi-hued ensemble with a chocolate brown lace skirt from Zara, along with a vintage coat for warmth.

Your eyes are not deceiving you–I went bare legged. I somehow managed to shred through all my flesh toned hose, so had to go without. I won’t do that again. It was cold!

At any rate, as you all know, I like preppy, classic silhouettes, so love the idea of a button down and a pencil skirt. I tried to add some pizazz to my normal repertoire by working with various complementary colors and playing with texture.

How did I do?

Stay tuned for more of my outfits from Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week.

Smootches!

  1. you look cute and your face-just lovely

I’m on a little hmm with the skirt. I love lace, but I like it better with a shinier blouse, preferably in black. And a darker shoe, like a black velvet pump?

I wonder how it would have looked! either how, you look radiant :D

  2. Hottt! love how you played with the colors, but kept true to your style. I would wear the whole outfit head to toe

  3. Quick tip: when going out bare legged in winter, coat your legs in vaseline (or a petrolatum free alternative like Alba’s Un-Petroleum). It acts as a barrier and helps keep the skin a little warmer. :)

    Love the clutch.

  4. ^^^yeah but then you have shiny, greasy legs which always looks tacky to me but i see your point…

i am loving that orange clutch and the purple/orange combo. however, i maybe would have swapped the yellow heels for green? but then you’d have to wear a diff coloured skirt so i don’t know…

  5. I LOVE this look and the color combo… and the fur just sets the whole thing off… BRAVO!!!

  6. Dear Claire,

Dont ever hurt my heart like that again, with that BOMB orange clutch! I almost had a heart attack. I love it! Keep it up lady!

  7. Claire, looking good as always. I’m going to have to get that skirt from Zara! Loving the shoes! And those legs…divine!

  8. I love how you decided to wear bold, bright colors for the winter season. Many would just go for the boring neutral colors. I really love those Loubotins & the Cashimi clutch. #chic

  9. I would wear this whole look! Even without the clutch or the fur….which are MY FAVORITES in this fit, the blouse skirt and shoe combo is killer. Chic with lovely textures and a nice line….and the colors…HOT! This is me all day!!

  10. Claire girl, your legs are the bomb!!!!
Very brave of you popping those colors for the winter but as usual you pulled it off!!!!

  11. I love all the pieces seperately. A bit much together, but you still look fashionable. Perfect for fashionweek where you want to stand out!

  12. Colorblocking is on point with the orange/purple combo…idk what to make of the yellow heals…even though its a very nice seperate. your face? gooooooorg. hair? looove it!

  13. @Dom took the words right out of my mouth…I love all ur pieces seprately but they were a lil too busy for me all together….But your legs tho (Amazing)? When can I get a set like that? Lol
