When you go to the gym, you know you’re already about to get your sweat session going.

So, you don’t want to have any outside factors when it comes to being uncomfortable since you’re already pushing your body to work hard.

Here are some tips on how to make your trip to the gym more comfortable, so you can work and sweat harder without experiencing stress.

Wear clothes that fit right

If there was one point to take away from everything you’re going to read, this would be it. You’re never going to be comfortable at the gym if you’re wearing clothes that don’t fit correctly. If your clothes are too baggy, you’re going to worry about pulling on your pants to keep them secure, or the sleeves on your shirt falling down and getting in the way of you being active.

If your workout gear is too tight, you could be creating uncomfortable pressure on your body, not to mention actually cutting off circulation, which can be dangerous.

That’s why you want to always choose clothes that fit you just right, with nothing too loose and nothing too tight. These gym lifestyle leggings are one of our favorites as it perfectly hugs your body, making sure that you keep comfortable.

Don’t deal with extra gear

When you’re going to work out, you don’t want to lug a bunch of extra items into the gym that you have to worry about keeping an eye on. Usually, your most essential item is going to be your water bottle, unless you’re doing a specialized workout where you might need a yoga mat or booty bands.

Bringing in a gym bag is great, especially if your gym has safe lockers where you can store your bag. But sometimes, you don’t want to store your car keys in the bag, just in case. That’s why you need active leggings with pockets so you can keep the most important things that you’re taking to the gym with you.

If you’re only bringing a water bottle, then you might only need to simply put your key in your pocket, slip your phone in your other packet, grab your water bottle, and head into the gym. The simpler it is, the more comfortable you can be!

Wear clothes that you like

In addition to wearing clothes that fit you well to make you more comfortable, wearing clothes that you actually love will make you have a better workout. When you’re confident in your outward appearance, you’ll actually have a better workout performance. So, make sure that the outfit your sporting is comfortable, but also make sure that you love it. This way, you’ll have a better workout.

Know your routine

There’s nothing that can make for an uncomfortable workout experience like being intimidated by the gym in general. Before you walk into the gym and get hit with paralysis of what type of exercise you’re going to do, make a plan. You might run on the treadmill for ten minutes, do leg lifts, squats, and then head to the weights. When you’ve got a routine in mind, it gets you over the initial hurdle of deciding what to do for your workout.

If you don’t know how to use any of the equipment, ask a friend who might know, and learn a few of the machines so you can get comfortable. If you don’t have any gym-going friends, then you can ask one of the instructors who work at the gym to show you around a little bit–that’s their job! If you’re still intimidated, you can watch Youtube videos on how to work the machine you’re interested in.

Play good music

When you’ve got a song you love pumping in your ear, it’s going to be much easier to be comfortable at the gym. Songs that you’re familiar with will also help you feel more familiar with your own surroundings, so get your jam on.

Go during a slow time

Sometimes, you feel more comfortable at the gym when there are fewer people there. It might not always be an option, but if you have a free day, ask your gym what time is the slowest in terms of users. You can go when there are less people around, and get the lay of the land.

Wear the right bra

We know we talked about clothes already, and the same applies to your undergarments. It’s important to wear comfortable underwear and a comfortable sports bra while you work out. If you don’t have any of those items, it’s worth the investment. You’ll feel much more prepared to go to the gym when you’re wearing this.

You’re kicking yourself into gear, so it’s time you kicked discomfort, too. You’re so ready to head off to your next workout.
