Hey Hey Bombshells!
Yesterday I headed to the Hamptons to sample and smell Sean John’s newest scent for women, “Empress.”

As the female counterpart to Diddy’s ‘I am King’ fragrance, Empress has a crisp, fruity smell, with a musky overtone that offers a slight masculine edge.

Diddy apparently designed the fragrance with a powerful, modern woman in mind, so tapped songstress Kelly Rowland as its ambassador. About 15 other bloggers, including Micah Jesse, Love Brown Sugar, and Jessica of the Glamazons Blog took a limo bus to the Ciroc Cabana Club in Sag Harbor to listen to tunes, munch on food from STK, sip Ciroc, and smell Empress:

For the occasion, I pulled out my consummate ‘Hamptons’ outfit: a Billie romper by Boxing Kitten and United Nude Möbius sandals (yes I partook in their fantastic 50% off summer sale!):

I also blinged it out in my favorite bangles by Jessie Adore and an “I’m Fly” ring by Melody Ehsani:

Of course I couldn’t go to the Hamptons without my vintage sunnies from Screaming Mimi’s and my new white Iphone! How else can one tweet in all that sun?

I added a few finishing touches: OPI black shatter polish over Ciate long lasting nail polish in big yellow taxi, a Claire necklace I got made on Broadway in Soho (I thought it was fun!), and a purple bag I found on London’s Brick Lane:

It was perfect to chill by the poolside with a few of my favorite peeps from the blogosphere:



Kelly Rowland actually showed up, but was in a super duper rush, so aside from a speech, didn’t offer The Fashion Bomb a picture or a video (womp). She did look gorgeous, however, in a plum jersey dress with smashing gold accessories:

It was a fun time!

    I would throw on a pink boyfriend blazer, a pair of pink pumps,
    Stack a couple of Necklaces and lots of bracelets and coat my nails with a nude polish.

    To answer your question, I would rock the Boxing Kitten romper with my pair of grey and nude sandals, a big oversized colored clutch, and a pair of huge silver hoops. For makeup, I would keep it simple with bronzed highlights, lush lashes, and lightly-lined eyes

    I’m a natural girl so I’d rock my hair in a bantu knot out (pinned into an updo to show the detail of the shoulders/neckline), I’d rock my Neesh nameplate I received on my bday, my gold twisted earrings (since this is such a funky look), my jessica simpson platforms, mustard colored clutch, beaded bracelets(from a designer I know), with my gray strap watch from jcrew, nails would be what I call my “tiffany blue” color and make up would be light with a bold lip (pink). Oh yeah and my ray bans!! OWW!!! I’d be too hot for myself lol

    I. love. your. romper. I had to go through and read the story the second time around because I couldn’t stop looking at it. My birthday is in 2 weeks and I would love to rock this all up and through the day parties that weekend. I’m thinking yellow, wooden bottom wedges with a teal clutch and lots of gold jewlery.   28. Claire- you have to detail your skin regimen because it has been looking crazy good this summer.

    I would wear this romper for my birthday in late September with a pair of magenta or purple suede platform pumps, my vintage turquoise versace bag and a tailored neutral blazer with big gold Jewelry. I’d wear my hair in a high bum and my makeup very neutral with heavily lined eyes. I’m going big or going home with this one.

  30. I forgot to mention- that I’d probably belt the blazer with an olive wide belt with gold hardware from banana. So neutral blazer, olive belt, bright shoes and bag, shiny gold everything, dewy clean jlo-esque makeup, high bun. And my black ray-ban specs, so i can see. Ha.

  32. You look amazing, Claire! I think that romper is gorgeous (love Boxing Kitten!) and the print is perfect without the accessories trying to compete with it. I’d rock my vintage gold jewelry with it and a pair of gold stiletto sandals, and a cute clutch that picks up the mint green in the shoulder detailing.

    Very pretty, and would be the perfect gift for my birthday next week :o)

  33. I am a size 10! I would wear my hair up on top of my head in a big semi messy bun to show off more of the outfit. I already have the perfect jewlery, gold and diamonds, to pull the look off well. I must admit I will have to shop for shoes, but that will be fun to do! I’d rock the Boxing Kitten romper with my lace-up creamy nude suede open toe booties, a skinny nude belt looped around my waist, thick gold hoops and a turquoise clutch. My makeup would be a warm, glowy cheeks, Clinique Black Honey Superbalm Moisturizing Gloss, and a bright purple shadow blended around the rims with feathery long lashes! I’d FAINT if I won!

  42. I recently lost 30 lbs and I wear a size 10 now!!!!! This would be perfect for me! I would be stepping high with this romper! For the day I would would wear it with some pink kitten heel sandals, statement stud earrings a simple necklace and a double finger ring.     since its so bold, i’d definitely pair it with some nude pumps and bold but simple accessories, to make the romper stand out in its glory.

  53. i absolutely love that romper! i would rock it with a high bun, winged eyeliner, gold eyeshadow in my tearduct, a neutral lip and burnt orange blush which would look amazing on women of color. the print is gorgeous and as an african(representing Ghana!), this romper definitely calls to me. :)

  54. I’d rock it with my hair in a natural puff, fresh faced with a bright lip, huge, but simple hoop earrings with a neutral pair of espadrilles and hobo bag. The romper is such a statement piece on it’s own, I’d keep accessories to a minimum, but maybe add a bright blue polish to my fingernails and toenails!

The first way would be with my kelly green strappy fabric heeled sandals with a simple coral colored quilted wristlet and for jewelry some multi metal bangles and my Juicy Couture gold sparrow hoop earrings.   75. I LOVE this romper. I have been eyeing it forever!! I would wear this Boxing Kitten romper with a bold African inspired beaded necklace that pops with all the right colors. And with my bronzed out cheeks and my awesome tanned (from having too much fun in the sun) skin!

Okay…I too have been inspired by….”How would you rock it.” So to accessorize the masterpiece that is the Boxing Kitten romper, I would start with a fresh twist out…plucked to the Gods for maximum volume. My face would be serving fresh manicured brows (never too thin), lashes that pop, with cheeks that glow thanks to my Orange Make-up forever blush (i.e., eyeshadow–don’t judge me). However, inspired by Lauryn Hill…a deep raisin colored mouth would be my lip color of choice.
    Moving down to my neck, which would be adorned by my vintage wood and black necklace which would rest on my exposed décolletage. My authentic African cuff would serve as the only bracelet and play off the pattern with the gold, bronze, and silver metalwork. And just because of the type of girl I am my shoes would be a Nude faux cork BCBG sandals with my turquoise blue pedi .

    I love the blog and read it daily! I would love to win this romper and I’m a size 10 so no tailoring needed here. I would rock this romper with my parisian blue or nude wedges, a purple bag, and gold accessories including my gold old-school doorknockers with my name in them.     Shoes: Parisian (turquoise) blue or nude wedges
    Bag: Purple, blue, or pink
    Jewelry: Gold everything including my old-school door knocker earrings with my name in them
    Makeup: “All My Purple Life” Mac gloss, “Grafitti” Urban Decay eyeliner
    Hair: natural hair pulled up into a bun or other protective style
