In the UK, tipping isn’t something we’re used to. We might do it in restaurants, and perhaps if a food delivery driver arrives and we’ve got the extra cash, but other than that it’s not really a ‘thing’ here. Which is why it can feel a little confusing and awkward to go to a casino in a country such as the USA where tipping is most definitely a thing, and not know whether or not you should be doing it, how much you should be paying, and who should be getting your tip – play casino games today. Here is a little tip for you on how this all works so you can be more confident in the future.

Tipping Blackjack Dealers

Yes, you should tip the blackjack dealer. But how? What do you do? There are a few options. Firstly, you can give them some chips so they can cash out at the end of the night. Alternatively, you can place a bet on their behalf. This latter idea isn’t as popular as the simple process of giving away some chips which you hopefully won’t miss. That’s because you might not win, so you’ll have nothing to give (or you’ll lose and then have to give some chips anyway, spending more than you intended on a tip). Then again, you might win, and have to split a potentially large prize with the dealer which may not be something you’re overly happy with.

Remember, when you’re handing over a chip or two to the dealer make sure you tell them it’s for them, that it’s a tip. Otherwise you might accidentally put on another bet and have to start all over again.

Tipping Craps Dealers

Just as with blackjack, you’ll have two options for tipping a craps dealer. They are the same two options, with the same pros and cons. However, in craps there is a lot more to think about than in blackjack, and it’s a much more complicated game. Because of this, trying to work out how to tip a dealer by placing a bet for them is a much harder task, and gives you even more reason just to hand out some chips when you’re about to leave the table. So if you’re not comfortable doing this, you might just as well play at online casinos that accept Neteller, without any obligations whatsoever.

Of course, winners are going to have a lot more spare chips than someone who has been losing, so don’t feel obligated to tip if your games haven’t been going so well. In fact, the dealers probably won’t even expect you to give them anything if you’re losing so just say thank you and go.

Tipping Roulette Dealers

Tipping at the roulette table is sometimes a little harder than at other casino games, only because you won’t know exactly how much money you have to ‘spare’ until you cash out. All this really means is, however, that you’ll need to wait until you’re completely done before you give any money away to the dealer. Again, the dealer understands this (or should do) and won’t be expecting anything. Technically, they shouldn’t be expecting anything at all, but tipping is so commonplace in the USA that they’d be surprised not to get anything.
