I must admit that I too was envious of Miss Amerie after first seeing this video because I had just cut off all my hair into a short Halle ‘do and my hair was as long and luxurious and black as Amerie’s so, I almost cried. I wanted my hair back (even tho’ the cut was the business on me). That’s all I remember when I hear this song or see this video.

I have my own “first” story I would like to share. The term black pride comes to mind when I first watched this video. Amerie looked stunning in this clip and it made me so proud to a black woman. I thought, “Wow! Sistas truly are the most beautiful women on the planet. No contest!”
