She says, “I luv fashion!!!!”

“I would describe my style as simple yet chic…”

“I’m a girly girl who is in luv with blazers …”

“I have them in all colors :)”

“My fav places to shop are Goodwill, NY & Co and Express.”

“I have a blog called www.faithfamilyfashion.blogspot.com.”

” I hope that you will consider me as a bombshell!”

Very solid! I love your use of color. You’ve got that color wheel down pat!

  1. On point. I liked every look except for the one with the striped top and pink blazer. It was too much pink for me. The fits are great and she just looks confident and polished. Go ‘head girl!

  2. Ehm, repetition!

She has been a bombshell before. I guess you see so many that it’s possible to repeat one. Like, the last photo, I remember that!

Maybe a database,or a system that recognizes names can prevent this from happening

  4. love the color and how shes able to wear outfits that are appropriate for her age! shes grown and sexy and it shows! kudos!

  5. I literally just saw her while flipping through my latest Essence mag. Not loving her style though. Use of color is good, but I can’t get with the drapey sweaters and turtlenecks. I def remember that infamous last pic from her first submission…

  6. She looks very nice in all the pics, she dresses nice. To me a bombshell is someone with umph, not someone that just dresses nice. Im sorry she is a pretty woman, but her style is not inspiring.

  7. AND before everybody get on here talking about people are hating. Not every critique is about hating. Most may just be a matter of honest opinion. Thats why Claire and the team have made an option to leave a response. Hope all of you lovelies have a good day.

  8. I like her outfits, but its so… how to say it in a nice way… decent. Nothing wrong with decent dont get me wrong. But the only photo that shows Bombshell (to me) is the photo with the black leggings and militairy-ish jacket. But i really like the outfits. I love that she plays with colour, and she looks really polished, confident. Yeah, she’s nice.

  9. Apparently you and your staff has blocked my IP address. Which questions your integrity. I am a fashionista. A true fashionista in every since of the word. I am never vulgar of derogatory. I offer honest feedback which at minimum enriches the variety of your site. I have watched you grow as a black women I admired you. Its never easy, it is sad when we achieve some success how it changes some. Anywho you action speaks mountains about your integrity and lack of objectivity. I thought you were a journalist. As black people frequently the world hold us to a lower standard. I wonder why?

  10. @thefashionistachic
I have had comments blocked as well, especially those that do not agree with the masses of any particular post. Oh well, on to the next!

  11. Love Melissa’s style! I check out her blog from time to time and she does not disappoint! She knows what works best for her body type and her choice of Colours are on point! If blazers and fitted dresses works for her then I say go for it!

  12. Hmm, I feel like I’ve seen her before…maybe I’ve stumbled on her blog in the past. Her style is neat and chic. I tend to reserve the word ‘Bombshell” for someone that inspires, but I definitely think that she looks pulled together in every outfit. She knows her body and uses color well. I like.

  13. Hey! Been out all day, just getting to some of these comments. So 1st, I thought I’d seen Melissa before, and searched the site and came up with a draft of a post from 2010 (that hadn’t been published). So I used her old pictures and supplemented her new ones. But at any rate, people can be Bombshells more than once, we’ve done it before.
Regarding @thefashionistachic, I didn’t block your IP address. Sometimes comments get caught in spam and I have to go check and approve. But thanks for jumping to erroneous conclusions about my integrity and how big my head has gotten due to the site’s growing popularity. I support black women every day, answer e-mails, because I love what I do, even when some write negative comments that are extremely insulting. Do you. Now let me go and retrieve your enriching comment from the spam folder.

  14. I love it. The use of colors is splendid!! I also love how she dresses for her shape and she looks so clean cut and sophisticated. I looove her style! Def a fashionbomb! I aspire to dress as well as someone like her.

  15. This bombshell is classically chic and knows how to dress her shape.

    RE:Claire
How can a woman who created an ebook for other fashion blog creators, who has a service section on her site to help those in the SAME field; who allows Fashion Bombshells/Bombers and those who post comments to post links to their blogs be big headed? STOP!!! @thefashionistachic don’t be so easily offended and quick to perceive a thing. It speaks volumes about YOU.

  16. Claire Dear, *that rhymes :) * it Irks the hell out of me you even respond to this NONSENSE! This your site, TREAT IT AS SUCH. You must be uber sweet in person … because I know Darn well if this was my site … um yeahhh … Delete, Block, & Repeat if necessary.

“As black people frequently the world hold us to a lower standard. I wonder why?” ~ *Black Stare* like! what does this have to do with her “presumptuously” blocking your IP???? ugk I CAN NOT!

  17. She looks fab! Poise & Style wrapped in one. Might I add..my big sister! Look for her in the April Issue of Essence Magazine :)

  18. stop it claire, you blocked ip address because u blocked me.. love the site tho still go on it daily when Im home

  19. @Ugk I know, I know. I really appreciate all of y’all because I do realize that I couldn’t have accomplished half of what I have without you guys. So if you see me in the streets, HOLLA (not, but for real).
Regarding commets, I guess you know how Erykah Badu says, “I’m an artist and I’m sensitive about my $hit.” It grinds my gears when I’m really trying to represent the best in multicultural fashion and keep it positive and someone logs on and tries to question my credibility, integrity, etc, especially when it’s unfair/unfounded. Tis all. But hey. Comes with the territory! And um, I couldn’t find FashionistaChik’s comment in spam, but she clearly left a comment here (and on another post) so she’s obviously not blocked…X

  20. I like her. Her sandals in the last pic are everything to me lately; I’m stalking a few pairs!

(ps—*snaps for Claire* Whether she blocked you or not, participating in this site is a privilege, not an inalienable right.)

  21. “a true fashionista in everty sense of the word” ? ok… something about that sounds very pompous so I went to her blog aannd…yea I think you should spend more time taking notes and learning from Claire than making false assumptions.

  22. Love her use of color and I do admire that this site recognizes women of all shapes and sizes :) @Claire I commend your class and elegance when responding to foolery lol I absolutely adore u!

  23. I like her style. It fits her. I think that is what makes you a bombshell is finding a signature style and owning it. She will still look revelant in 10 years because it is her style. She is confident, sexy, and stylish without living for the trends or being hyper-sexual. I love it. It also helps that she is just plain lovely as well.
    Her blog is http://faithfamilyfashion-melissa.blogspot.com/.

  24. @ Claire These people have gone crazzzzzyy. Really, thefashionistachic, IT IS HER SITE. I swear, the sense of entitlement amongst the youth is really off putting. If you are so disgusted by this site- why have a hyperlink so folks can go to your website from Claire’s website. If you are a true fashionista in the sense–shouldn’t people stumble upon your blog ON YOUR OWN SITE’S MERITS. My word, it really is unfortunate when your mouth gets ahead of your brain.
As far as the FOB is concerned, luvs her hair. *snaps*

  25. !She is curve-a-licious! I love everything about her look, she def knows how to dress for her body type while keeping it classy simple and chic. And she gets major love for her color choices! Aight then ma!

  26. That’s right Claire, it’s your site and if your integrity is brought into question, then you have the right to defend yourself! Very eloquent answer rife with sarcasm, love it!

Now to the actual post lol. I like this bombshell’s 1st, 2nd, and 3rd looks, especially the green dress with the blue jacket.

  27. I own about half those shoes. And she is rocking the heck out of some color blocks. A girl after my own heart. GO GIRL!!
    BOMB STATUS all the way!

  28. i think some of her outfits are nice for work appropriate and conservative clothing. but in the last three pics everything is trapeze shaped and should be belted to give her a shape. i can’t say i’m wowed.

claire-LMAO. i’ve been visiting your site for a while and the last thing you are is bigheaded or without intergrity. you’ve shared your platform and introduced your audience to many other black bloggers and their points of view.

  29. Okay so I am going through my Essence Magazine (Special Tribute to Whitney) and I see the Fashion Bombshell: Melissa Ward from Sarasota, Fl under the Style on the Streets Section and five pages over (not including front and back) I notice Claire from Fashion Bomb Daily. I just wanted to come back (I left two comments earlier) to say Congrats to the both of you, and Claire keep up the good work.

S/N: I’m not the one to intrude and be nosey (well okay I’m lying lol), but I read the comments you wrote on here and would clearly like to state, quote me on this LITERALLY, “Why would you block someone’s comment because of what they wrote, when you clearly stated at the bottom of the post “Images submitted may be featured on Facebook or Twitter. Comments can be harsh, so bring your A game!” LOL people these days are so harsh, and again CONGRATULATIONS ON BEING FEATURED IN ESSENCE, you are truly an inspiration.

  30. I like her. Very simple, yet chic. I also remember her from last year, the last pic was submitted.

  31. I think it’s average as well. I like the use of color, but it seems as if she tries so hard to match all the time. If I was even thinking for a second about putting bombshell choice, the leggings as pants deterred me. I LOVE CLAIRE. YOU GO GIRL!!!

  32. I think she has a simple chic style and I adore it. She is one on my followers on Chictopia. Go girl!!!!

On another note… Claire I love how you shut that negativity down in such a nice/nasty professional manner. Kudos I love your blog, keep it up, you are an inspiration to many. XOXO

  33. I think she looks great, but I hated the leggings as pants. Anytime I can see through leggings, even its just a bit, I cringe. Other than that I loved her use of color, silhouettes, hair.
As far as the comments to Claire, are you serious?! How many bloggers do you know, with this much traffic, actually take time out to read and respond to comments. Chile please! I’ve had comments not get posted, I chalked up to to a technical thing. Please get out of your feelings!

  34. you can also check me out on chictopiahttp://www.chictopia.com/bettyboop3

  35. OMG This is the look I am going for at work! Very nice!!! I love your pop of color too!
