  1. It’s ok.* shrugs* but I can’t stop looking at th hair I feel like because it is very messy it takes the outfits down a few notches.

  2. It’s obvious that the fb loves skirts, and I think they are cute. I would have liked to see more versatility in her looks.

  3. So… she likes skirts… with waist-cinching belts… and fitted/trendy tops. I would definitely NOT rate this as a “Fashion Bombshell”. Fashion is about more than clothes; it’s about accessorizing, risks, fun, personality, and execution. Let me also add that hair (also considered an accessory by many) is a pivotal point of an overall “look”… Dare I say that her hair just looks undone, and not in the deliberate sense. There is no diversity with her fashion choices, and the looks just aren’t well put together. The pieces look cheap and the pictures look dated. I’m sorry, dear. #FAIL. #H.A.M.

  4. yes I think hair should be considered as well, because it should be the total package from head to toe..and even if the individual is not one for trendsetting hairstyles, their hair should be tidy at the very least. If the look of her hair was meant to be dishevelled..i still dont think it quite works..now if her clothes were a bit more edgy then maybe.

  5. Its alright . . just not enough variety in the outfits ; i would have loved to see more than just skirts cause its sorta like the same style just diff colors &nd patterns

  6. cute girl…you should try some curly hair…i think the “messy hair” look would work out better.

  7. I think her style is playful and fun, she seems to enjot it. one problem, take care of your weave. I can’t tell you how many times I have seen a cute outfit but the weave was very dry and tired looking. Sleeping with a satin cap does help with the hair.

  8. Also, pants would also look great on you! with different color shirts. Just add more variety! you are going down the right path.

  9. @MissPriss LOL. I agree 100%

It would be nice if the girls that are featured as “FashionBombshells” were actually “fashionable” and brought so much MORE to the table than just ” a blog” and “some cute outfits”…even though that’s the theme, it shouldn’t BE that cliche. The last 3 features have just been average girls with cute blogs and reasons why “they like to play dress”. Nothing expectional.

Dear Claire, Please look through your email and find US a lady that’s an actual “FashionBombshell” outside of clothes. Total package please ma’am. Cuase I mean these are damn NO’s.

  10. She really is borderline a dressed like a “church hoodrat”. You know the no tights, straight-like nappy hair, too tight skirts and non-matching colors. Can WE please get a real “fashionbombshell” SMH.

  11. Sheena you are her friend and you know she cannot dress at all this is clearly a mess and her weave looks horrible and I wish she wouldnt have sent these pictures in to embarrass herself.

  12. If you take a look at her blog, she is only 17 and her style reflects her age. As she matures, her style will mature as well.

  13. Cute and age appropriate, but if you want to be more fashionable, you are going to have to definitely venture out of your comfort zone. Maintain your style, but take risks and try different things.

  14. I think that one needs to be mindful that it may be difficult to obtain good weave and afro hair stylists in Belgium and if so it is very expensive. Darn, if you don’t live in a major city in the UK it’s difficult to find a hairdresser for our hair, so I empathize.

On the other hand, dear Jaspe you do need to take better care of your hair and be more mindful of your overall hair regimen.

I think her style is cute and playful.

  15. I think she looks adorable — she’s 17.

She looks cute and sassy — not skanky. She could wear any one of those outfits out on a date or to a job interview.’

I also love the creativity in the poses and backdrops. The one on top of the tv = <3

My only complaint is that I wish the photos were more clear.

  16. I think her hair is deliberate and fun – locs at bottom straight at top. Her flippant, messy look seems still-in-progress and is way more appreciated in Europe than the states. The skirts are fun and short – she has amazing legs. Really like the peep-toe heels and color variety.

She reminds me of an ad for young, fresh, carefree energetic teens – a look I feel more (not all) Black girls stateside should opt for instead of the jaded, perfectly coiffed, ready to be married to a mogul at 16 look. I feel like she’s dancing and posing to music in the pics.

Only complaint is the pic resolution : ( though I like the bleached out color effect!

  17. This is ridiculous. I’m sure many of you all are grown women. This is why comments should be disabled smh! There isn’t a huge versatilitn her look, but she that’s what she likes and she has a style. It’s obviosly girly and feminine, with lots of skirts and heels. DUH. She rocks them well. :)

  18. I like her style, its unique and different. She is not afraid to step outside of the box and that is what fashion today is all about. Great job!

  19. i see what look she’s going for and it works for her.

i wish the pics were more clearer.

and at this point, i think claire should just disable comments b/c some of you just go too far sometimes with these comments.

this girl is only 17 yrs old, think about how you were when you were 17, did you look perfect? was your hair/weave always on point? no, it wasn’t so fall back a little bit.

  20. Comments should not be disabled. If you think what you wear will always attract cheers there is something wrong with you. I noticce when it comes to fashion you either or you don’t. Some people are walking down the right path, but some people are just 100% off in space somehwere. Yes, we all have our own sense of style, but that doesn’t mean it looks good. Fashion is painful, even designers get bad reviews of their clothing line. Fashion is not for the faint of heart or the too up tight.

  21. Cute! Yes, it’s a lot of the same, but it totally works on her. Also, I see that she’s only 17, this is definitely age approps. The lengths and prints of the skirts are fun, flirty and classy.

    I like!

p.s. There are more productive ways to be critical than berating a 17 yr old for the quality of their photos and their fashion itself. booo.

  22. And we wonder why the comments are disabled. If you don’t like her style, say that and move on. The comments about her weave and looking “ghetto” are just mean-spirited and petty.

But back to the matter at hand. I think her style is very “trendy,” nothing really out of the box, but it is cute. My favorite look is the pink skirt with the hearts. I would totally wear that!

  23. her uniform is cute. you cant say you take risks and try new things if you are wearing the same thing over and over. all it is is a different color skirt, shirt and belt. we know what you are going to wear all week, just not the color. hated it.

  24. I like! As a girl with hips, I too like flared skirts and thick belts :) Its fun and makes your waist look super small.

  25. I think she looks very cute and age appropriate. How many times have you seen a 17 year old in a F21/Bebe Freakum dress?

Also when there is a fashion post I comment on what appeals to me. If it doesn’t appeal to me, no one is entitled to that comment but me.

Sometimes it is all too easy to type “mean things”…SMH

  26. I just wanted to say, I do what I like ! Yes I do take risks, a few months ago I would have killed someone who would ask me to put on a skirt, so I think thats a houray for me ;) and besides, I love the comments because they teach me so much, and especially the “mean” ones, I try my best but critique is the best way to learn !

thanks anyways, and watch my blog a few more times, I don’t take pictures of EVERY outfit I wear so it’s hard to define my style if you don’t see the whole picture ;)

    x

  27. i think her sense of style is great and well developed for a 17 year old. something should be done about her hair though.
