  1. nothing exciting. Nothing compliments her figure.

  2. nothing compliments her figure

  3. Sorry but some of her clothes look ill-fitted to me and, dare I say it…they look thrifted.

  4. ANYONE WHO CAN THRIFT AND STILL LOOK AMAZING AND CASUAL IS A BOMBSHELL TO ME!!

  5. I love seeing thrifting fashionistas. Why? because it requires imagination and pizzaz. One of my favorite bloggers redesigns thrift clothes. She will buy an ugly sac, throw it on her sowing machine and create art. lol

Some things don’t compliment your awesome figure, and were a bit blah but I do love that black jacket. Many of your pieces I DO like, though I don’t know if I would put the two together. Regardless, you get my point!! Def going to check out your blog to see what other creations you put together.

  6. the clothes look thrifted, most are ill-fitting & they styling is making her look older.

  7. She’s a cute girl and well put together, but i just wasn’t feeling her looks. Her clothes make her look a little too old. I’d like her to incorporate her vintage style into more modern looks if that makes any sense.

  8. Not good, but not the worst. From one thrifter and vintage enthusiast to another, this looks very ‘thrifty’ and not stylish or chic. It isn’t always a great idea to thrift from head to toe, especially on a daily basis. I think she could look a lot better if she mixed vintage and modern.

  9. I think you’re a gorgeous clothes but every single outfit looks thrifted not fashionable. Fashion most accommodate the frame, and still either be on trend or ahead of it!

  10. She’s a brave soul, but she needs to mix modern with old in order to make her looks really shine. I also live thrifty shopping, but sometimes you also have to modernize some if the pieces you buy. I purchased a eighties pron dress, but i had to alter the dress so that it would look a little more current but still thrifty! U need to just find balance in your looks.you don’t want to look like you’re stuck in the late eighties and ninties.

  11. I love thrifting … but if you are paying 25 cents for a blazer that is cheap and nice but ill-fitting …then the rest of your investments should be in an affordable “good” seamstress my two cents….Also do not be too scared to DYI and modernize your items.

I tried the whole thrifting thing …. #FAIL. I have come to realize garments were cut differently in different time periods. Thus a good Seamstress is key … but rather expensive at times.

  12. Not to shabby for a Detroiter… I like the mix of patterns. My only suggestion would be to lose the monroe piercing because that is so, 2001. lol… No real fashionista or decent adult (cause u look at least 23) would have a monroe piercing.

  13. YASSS and NOOOOOOOO!!!! I am a sucker for color….the first and third pic is everything the rest looked a little stuffy, vintage I love but I feel like vintage pieces should be incorporate with modern pieces to make it work:)

  14. I like the mix of prints, they actually looked great together. I was impressed because she is from Detroit… however, no fashionista or decent adult would still have a monroe piercing. Thats basic!

  15. Yeah it looks a little too grandmaish and thrifty, and I am a thriftier myself. But I really do like the denim jumpsuit.

  16. I like the 3rd & 4th looks the best. I have to agree that the fit on the other clothes doesn’t compliment her great figure. It makes her appear dowdy and I don’t think she is. Thrifting isn’t for me, but she has some nice pieces. Just needs a little refining.

  17. wtf? is this a joke? this would be a bombshell fr: the 1.00 store! the 1st & 2nd look is HORRIBLE! She must be a blind bombshell, with these looks! hehhe : )

  18. I’ve been thrifting for nearly 20 years (since high school) and it is exhilirating, but it needs to been done correctly. Be very selective about what you get and how you mix it into an outfit.

These looks are not cute. Not fashionable. Very random/frumpy… however, if she just used one of the thrifted peices as a focal point it might have worked. Shoe game also needs an upgrade.

I can envision her as a fly/retro throwback Claire Huxtable (one of my favorite fashion icons) but she needs considerable work to get there.

  19. Oh boy. This is a mess. You don’t want to look like you are wearing thrift store clothing and in every outfit, she does. She should stay away from some of the dated pieces and try mixing some of the nicer thrift finds with some modern clothes.

This is so unfortunate because she has a great figure. Why would you make yourself look like this?! :(

    Burn that floral monstrosity!

  20. I thrift myself, but I know that a lot of the stuff I buy has to go to a tailor. Just like in a retail store like Macy’s or Express, you have to know what is flattering for your body type and what is not. And you also have to know what can work and what looks too dated. Some of the pieces she is wearing have potential (the floral blouse/ animal print combo and the denim jumpsuit, all of which are on trend right now) but the double-breasted blazer and shorts do not fit at all.

  21. Just because you took some 80s fashions from your mom’s closet and started wearing them again does not make one a fashionista.

  22. You know how people wear thrifted clothes and make it look cool, well this is not one of those.

  23. I think you can wear thrift clothes and make them look great. The issue is how to wear them and look stylist and chic. Sometime mixing thrift with staples in your closet could help. And fit. If your thrift pieces fit well then you will for the most part look chic.

  24. nah.
luv that leopard button down skirt but it looks wide or something.
a little tayloring goes a long way :)

  25. Ummm said “I have come to realize garments were cut differently in different time periods. Thus a good Seamstress is key … but rather expensive at times.”

    Exactly.

  26. After following her on Instagram for awhile, I am always impressed with her thrift finds and how she works them. I think these photos do her no justice.

  27. Her clothes are ill-fitted? *gasp* But you all loved every roll and dent you could see on the morbidly obese “bombshell”

  28. I see its ok to be completely nasty to her normal sized bombshell. Girl just gain about 200 pounds and they love you like they loved Pac!

  29. I am most sad to say that what she has here, isn’t really showing off her style as much as it goes in on instagram (agreeing with @FabEllis). She pulls on some dope pieces and has worked them, WELL.

  30. It’s okay to go thrift shopping, but it’s not okay to look like your thrifted..get it?

  31. i follow Vintyfresh on instagram as well…really swooned by her thrift finds and how she puts peices together, however i will agree with FabEllis , maybe these particular pics don’t do her justice…which sucks because i think she is dope. Dang!!!

  32. Ummm Bre? What r u trying to say about Detroit? There are fashionable people everywhere and people in my city definitely know how to put a look together.

  33. very interesting…the way she can make all the old clothes look good, but I would rather see a vintage-modern mix…good look for her though and I like her in it

  34. So I agree with the other comments about tailoring & mixing vintage w/ modern pieces. However, I just checked out her Instagram & she’s more stylish than the pictures she submitted. I would definitely have picked different looks because these do nothing for her.

  35. So I agree with the other comments about tailoring & mixing vintage w/ modern pieces. However, I just checked out her Instagram & she’s more stylish than the pictures she submitted. I would definitely have picked different looks because these do nothing for her

  36. I don’t mind the thrifting ideas, as a matter of fact I really like the idea. However, the pieces I see above aren’t my cup of tea. Some ladies really do thrift store shopping well. To me, the outfit should not “scream” thrift store even if it does comes from there. That to me is where “thrift store shopping skill” comes in. If you know how to pick the right pieces, you can wear a thrift store outfit that “looks like” a million bucks and no one would be the wiser.

  37. Honeybun let me give you a hand, the first look with the stripe short, doll I know you are trying to do a mix print look. There is no cohesion my dear. The blue or green, whatever the color is in the short doesn’t not work with the blue/green hue in the top. There is a “How to mix prints” video on my blog. I suggest you check it out. Lord have mercy, the flower print, too much mama. The pink is matchy matchy with the shoe. The double breast blazer with gold buttons, pretty basic, you missed the boat because the hair is blah… The green pant and printed blazer is clownish my dear. First, you are way too old, secondly, too match matchy again. The leopard print skirt could have very well worked with the printed top but the look is ill fitting. The last look again, is less than basic. You should have rocked a stylish belt, the shoe isn’t so bad but girl that bag looks like a Kmart reject. When you submit your photo’s to a popular on line website, sis you want to come correct. This is like those horrible people who audition for American Idiol. I think to myself, don’t they have anyone in their life that will tell them the truth??? hmm… Oh wait in some communities they would call that person a hater.

  38. I commend her for delving into color and exploring pairing patterns. When thrifting one of the keys to remember is that if you find a really great piece for the low, whether vintage or just really chic, it’s a good idea to have it tailored to fit. But as she may be reselling some of these pieces I get why alterations may be out of the question for her.

  39. There’s really nothing left for me to say because the comments above relay my sentiments but I will add that you should be commended for submitting your pics. Hopefully you take away some of the CONSTRUCTIVE criticism and leave the rest where they belong….on this page.

  40. I feel dizzy. I know mixing prints is in but suuummmnnnn aint right. I dn’t know how one can wear such vibrant clothes and still look aged. Her look is confusing and needs a focal point

  41. I was going to say that I love that she is a business woman though. Its is always fashionable to be #selfmade

  42. I see a lot of looks to like, BombShell. That multi colored blazer & jumpsuit girrrrl yes.

  43. Even clothes I buy new need tailoring sometimes. That leopard/floral look could have slayed with some tailoring and accesories. But may I suggest checking out Traci Ellis Ross’ blog/Youtube and Karla’s Closet, they are really good at thrifting.

  44. I like the concept of thrifting, but what about a good tailor? The effort is good but just because you bought it that way doesn’t mean you should where it that way…

  45. Wearing these clothes, she looks like a domestic violence victim who lives in a shelter and wears donated clothes. There’s thrifting and there’s just looking poor and soulful. This does not work on ANY level. Please rethink your style.

  46. I do admire her courage and commitment to her personal style, but I agree with a lot of the commenters: these looks are aging. Mixing modern and vintage is a better way to go.

  47. There is nothing wrong with weaing thrifted finds. However, everything she has on looks like its from the goodwill. You have to get the clothes tailored to fit your body. And there is a difference between vintage and just plain old fashioned. The items dont look vintage at all. I don’t like it. Please try again!!

  48. Cover her head and I can begin to realize the potential. Very creative. Although as always fit can be key to making things go from thrifty to vintage.

  49. this is the perfect example of too much thrift shoppinig it should never be evident especially not overwhelming like this
