Today’s Bombshell is Ardnas from Milwaukee, Wisconsin:

She writes, “I’ve been reading Fashion Bomb Daily (going on two years not to mention) I finally had enough courage to send myself in!”

” I am a fashionista from Wisconsin, Milwaukee to be exact, and one word to describe myself is Chic.”

” If it’s not a label, it ain’t stable. I am a personal shopper by day and beginner blogger by night; diamondardnas.wordpress.com, oh did I mention I am also a cashier at a local grocery store? Of course I didn’t!”

“… But any who I really would love to be chosen for this weeks Fashion Bombshell and considering I am from a small city and I represent all women of color my determination has to be ten times more eager than the average Jersey chick.

” Hope you guys love me as much as I love you guys.”

” Thank you in advance and as Claire would say.. Smootches!”

You better work! Represent for the midwest, curvy girls, and multi tasking fashionistas everywhere!

  1. “” If it’s not a label it ain’t stable” That should have been left unsaid… LOL because I don’t see stablity. lol

  2. But why did she have to come at Jersey girls, because she lives in a jacked city?? I was feeling her style until I read that…

  3. I LOVE the first and last outfits! I also love how the blue falls on the biege…wouldn’t have thought of that combo…I’m not a sneaker kinda girl so I’m not fan of that outfit..but you look great in it…You are too cute.

  4. Milwaukee isn’t a small town, we’re a metropolitan city… Cute pieces thou.

  5. “If it’s not label it ain’t stable”—-but most of her items don’t seem like they come from a well established label….quite the opposite. One pair of Louboutin’s does not a fashionista make.

No comment on the Jersey shade. Surely that’s not the way to start a fledgling blogging career.

  6. I voted her bombshell. I do hate the way people make it a point to show the soles of their Louboutins. And NO im not hating i actually have 4 pairs myself. one pair which were a gift from my mom 12 years ago when i graduated from college (way before people started idolizing a shoe). Anywho, back to this diva. I loved all of her looks.

  7. @coochie coo….oohhh…my bad…but really… that’s your submission though? What would you call that color? Seriously..I really don’t know.

  8. “If it’s not a label it ain’t stable”….but…you work for bare minimum wage as a grocery store cashier? Um, ok.

But anyway, very cute style! Flawless looks in every pic.

  9. Lemme swipe those purple booties. I like! Multi-tasking Fashionista myself! represent girlll. Cute girl nice look! #Approved.

@DoubleR, you can get Labels for the low, that’s what you call a resourceful fashionista, no shade please!

  10. Beautiful in every pic, cute style! Definitely real trendy, but I didn’t really see any real personal or individual style showing. Love the first look –I have a weakness for cheetah. (:

  11. i like her style, super cute. “if it aint label, it aint stable”….woah, bougie! And bougie as a supermarket store cashier???? Sounds like my type of girl! lol….

  12. i like the 1st, 2nd and last look but considering she said “if it’s not a label it ain’t stable” her clothes look cheap, no disrespect but that comment surprised me as i thought she was a foever 21 typa girl

  13. I like most of the looks, but the comments threw me off a little. There’s plenty good fashion that do not have well-known labels and there are plenty fabulous Jersey girls… I voted Bombshell but would advise, don’t cut off some of your audience with such commentary. #all-love.

  14. From a Jersey Girl…I love her style. Thank God the foolish things that come out her mouth don’t reflect her styling.

  15. @NikkiB I think any FashionBomb reader & budget-smart fashionista is aware that you can get labels for the low. She is also aware that great style comes from all types of sources, and doesn’t just prioritize the high end labels, to the level of suggesting that anything less than designer is “unstable.”

Besides, I’ve worked as a grocery store clerk myself, so there is certainly no shade to how she makes her cash. She looks great, and can spend her checks wherever she sees fit!

  16. Wow. I was good with it until I saw the “labels” comment and the Jersey comment… Was that at all necessary? Style, class, and beauty come from within first. Everything on the outside is the accessory.

  17. Good Fashion. terrible attitude. just because you have some red bottoms or only buy labels doesnt mean you are a fashionista. and even I think the Jersey shade was uncalled for ( and I’m a PHILLY girl lol)
She is 5lbs from being lambasted for being fat on this site….the attitude is sooo unecessary

  18. Worst submission “essay, commentary, blurb, etc.” EVER. So so extra for no reason. As far as the style/clothing- All good except the blue shirt with the blue/tan/fuchsia combo and the bodycon strapless dress- that belly is poking out way too much.

  19. I love her style!!! We all know jersey isn’t known for its fashion, so get over the comment. Focus on her fashion and who cares if she works as a cashier. Some of you are just bitter bitches!!!

  20. She looks okay to me…. Her clothes don’t inspire me, but with that being said…….. I think she did a good job on presenting herself.

  21. Real cute. Every look was cute and appropriate. And a gorgeous face.
I ain’t like the “LABEL” comment, we have to remember to not get caught up in the superficial, remember fashion is about self expression. Not labels. =)

  22. “If it’s not label it ain’t stable.”
Kind of a tacky statement, dontcha think?

  23. Some of her outfits are cute..but she comes off as a bit cocky..which makes her look unattractive…and the Jersey comment was not called for

  24. And here comes the shade… That girl has on all types of Asos, modcloth, and nastygal prob some forever 21. So that if it isn’t a label comment….I’m not here for. and those fuschia booties look like shoe dazzle. Ugh the nerve of her! I love all those sites by the way, but I gloat about getting something cute for 5 dollars… Not down talk it

  25. When I clicked on the post I thought shes as cute as a button. Not feeling her description thoough :(.

  26. What does that “label” statement mean? Her clothing looks cheap i’m throwing her a bone when I guess TJ Maxx.
I can see Asos and GoJane and American Apparel so are those the stable labels?

    Honey please :-(

She had my vote until I read her comments.

  27. I like the skirt looks. she really turned me off with the commentary…especially the Jersey comment. have u ever been?

  28. the looks aren’t quite neat enough for me. they all need a bit of a “clean-up” if you will. she’s presentable but not my ideal fashionista..and that attitude?!..yeah work on that. labels don’t make an outfit. espsially if you’re wearing ASOS, Forever 21 etc. when said

  29. I don’t know but I didn’t see it as her throwing shade at a whole state. Perhaps she meant that since she is from a “small” town, she has to be even more determined than others from areas that are more well known…? Sais pas…mais, pu être?

  30. I Love her fashions! And why is everyone so salty about her statement ” Labels…” comment, it’s True. Every piece that I have known to last for years , generations even, have been from a designer label (whether known or untapped). (Designer) Labels are well-made and built to last (hence her “stable” portion). So don’t get made with the sista for speaking truth…How many pieces of clothing have you purchased from beauty supply store that have stand the test of time? Come’on people, lighten up! I vote FashionBomb!

  31. LMAO @U.V that was so rude. but i do agree with the ending of your comment. her outfits aren’t flattering on her. her choice of length tend to make her appear short and stubby.. but over all there is a fashion sense going on

  32. I actually like some of her looks, especially that tribal/geometric (??) skirt in the last pic. PLEASE tell us where you got that piece!!?? I have to say that anything that is timeless and classic can be a staple… not necessarily whose name is on the label.

  33. description she gave def through me off to the point that she is not a bombshell…..good clothing or not, her snoobiness is definitly a turn off……

maybe that is why she only work at the local supermarket as a cashier/clerk

  34. She’s cute and I like her style. Especially the outfit with the animal print pencil skirt and neon pops of color. In love with that outfit! As for her description, I’m sure she did not mean to offend anyone. She seems rather playful imo.

  35. What labels do you speak of, because I don’t see anything super expensive but some red bottoms that may be fake.Something is very off about every single outfit. It’s almost like she’s trying extra hard to fit every trend that she sees and tries to put it into one outfit. many of the outfits don’t flatter her body type at all.

  36. My fav outfits are the ones with the leopard print skirt and turquoise print skirt… LOVE THOSE !!!!!!
Don’t throw away, but BURN those red pants… they are not flattering at all. I like her style !

  37. Nice looks for the most part.. everything was cool until I reached the commentary.. blah! On a lighter note though, that leopard print skirt will continue to haunt me forever! Picked it up at F21, put it back, and havent been able to find one since and it was only $10! All the plans I now have for it lol!

Anywho, fix your ‘tude Ardnas, or if you plan to be cocky get more labels so you will have a reason to actually be cocky! ;)

  38. I love love the last skirt! I want it! She has really cute style and amazing legs :)

  39. OMG on the label comments? Really, are people really that consumer driven? Guess it’s true when they say, statistically, blacks spend way too much money on labels…and very little on actualy investments. lol People have to live on their own budget, who are you to cut their worth as a ‘fashionista’ because their clothing is not label made?

It’s not what you wear but how you wear it.

Back to the topic at hand… I adore the leoard print skirt and the blue patterned skirt…and just love the yellow/pink clutch.

  40. Her style is cute but her confidence is a crapper…wish she only submitted photos…

  41. I am going to submit my own photos for Fashion Bomb..I have no labels, no lofty praise to describe myself…I basically see a color, a cut or a certain trend and I put together an outfit that:
    dsnt cost a lot
    covers my lady bits
    enhances my inner peace

  42. I don’t think she was being salty towards NJ, but saying in an off beat way that because she is from a town not known for having many women of color with style (Not that Jersey does- haha, Brooklyn here!), that she feels she should be featured. Maybe, just maybe ASOS and American Apparel are considered big labels- who knows but I think it was her attempt at being humerous.

Regarding the style; Eh, I kind of like but it all seems busy. It’s like throwing on a bunch of trends just because- there is no real cohesiveness to her style. I think she totally knows how to dress for her body type and some outfits look pretty good

  43. I love fashion bomb but I hate reading all the negative comments! Gosh lighten up! I think her style is cute. I don’t think she meant anything by the label comment, I love labels, vintage to fovever21!

  44. She talks about if it aint a label it aint stable but when you go to her blog her labels are Aldo’s and Ann Taylor. So what labels is she talking about??? She does look great and has style but like everyone else she probably shouldn’t have written a description.

  45. I agree with @ Myopinion. I didn’t pick up any shade from her commentary but as my mother would say…a hit dog will holler.

  46. I just happened by her blog, after reading all the comments on her statement “if it’s not a label, it ain’t stable.” Quite frankly her blog is just as distasteful as her statements that she made with this submission. She lists where she purchases her clothing and only one or two pieces are from Ann Taylor or BCBG. Not as if that completely matters, as another commentator said here “it’s not what you wear but how you wear it” and that statement is very true.

Also, beauty, fashion sense and personality come from within, so if the onside is hideous it will show on the outside. There is a difference between confidence and arrogance.

As to her fashion sense, she has a style of her own on how she puts her pieces together and it works for her.

  47. I guess I’m the only one who thought that ‘label’ comment was tongue in cheek and witty. Lighten up, it’s just fashion! Maybe she was joking.

  48. Ok I could’ve sworn people were supposed to be looking at the girl’s fashion… Yes her attitude is bad but that is not the focus… Her attitude will give her problems in long run and most likely hinder her from reaching her long term goals so why worry about it, it’s her problem…. LOVE the last pic, great look… Great use of accessories & colors hun… Milwaukee is a small place where everyone seems to know everyone, mst females follow the same trends, & these h**s steal & share clothes so kudos to her for trying to be different…. SN: Just because a shoe has “red bottoms” doesn’t mean it’s a CL Red Bottom

  49. shes really rockin the colors……I love the pic with leopard skirt and yellow blouse combo.

sidenote:I hate…I mean hate those shiny (RED) American apparel leggings, the girls in Cali wear those disco pants to death, i guess thats why i hate’m so. she gets a pass becuase shes from Milwaukee, lol. Im sure they dont wear them to death, like they do out here in Cali.

  50. I LOVE the look with the leather bustier, her hair looks good up in that pompadour! The look with the sneakers & the one with the wedge booties gave me pause, but I like the rest of her outfits.

  51. /I find this very amusing Diamond only if they knew how much you REALLY made

/LISTEN UP KIDS, She is a PERSONAL SHOPPER the local grocery store clerk is something to keep her busy when she is not dealing with her clients
/Trust me she is my aunts personal shopper
/diamond aunt sue would be thrilled that you are doing amazing things such as this ignore the criticism

  52. Why so serious??? Geez! The girl was probably just joking with her comments! They’re just written words, so we don’t really know the tone behind them. Some people need to lighten up! Now, about her fits, I like everything on her except the red pant ensemble. Great looks overall!

  53. I don’t care how much a person makes, labels don’t make the person…and neither does money for that matter, kiddo.

Either way, I won’t get stuck on the label comments, I’m sure she is a nice person…pass me that multi-colored clutch.

  54. @Soul Touch this is for you
/why judge her on her words when the blog is clearly asking what do you think of her style?

/and the last time I checked everything had a labeled on it, from target to wal-mart to versace so in all honesty I think the girl was kidding, give credit where its due

/thats all.. sorry fashionbomb but the things people say? half of you guys wont even have the guts to sumbit your looks

  55. love the leopard print skirt ensemble & i also like the geometric print skirt, but that bustier…umm, no. she’s too top heavy in the chest & arms for that. the other outfits looks like she’s trying too hard.

  56. Ummm I really don’t think she meant the label comment like everyone thinks. It rhymes, guys. She probably just wanted a witty tagline. I also don’t think she meant any harm by the Jersey comment either.

Besides that, I think she has a lovely style!

  57. @Anonymous

Actually, my comment was not just intended for her, but for all those making a big deal about labels. My second comment was in regards to an Anonymous poster that commented on her money status….I guess I should have been specific.

Last, and I state again “Either way, I won’t get stuck on the label comments, I’m sure she is a nice person.” Which I am sure she is.

You said ‘give credit where credit is due’…fashion is subjective, like beauty. I said nothing to insult her fashion choices, actually I pointed out a number of pieces I quite liked.

    So…thanks :)

  58. I’m not here to judge her tongue and cheek comments, I am here to judge her style. I don’t care where she shops, I just want her to inspire me to try different looks. Personally I think she tries to hard and nothing on her looks effortless. Everything is just FORCED! wish her the best of luck, but I don’t care for her style.

  59. One last thing… I didn’t make any ‘judgment’ about her character in any but rather that people should not judge others because of their label status…and as I just stated, that comment is for any one. I don’t look to fashionistas because they pockets are full and their clothes are expensive but how they style themselves.

Okay, I wasted enough space on this thread. No judgment intended. Good night all.

  60. I am a Jersey girl myself and if you READ CLOSELY it says she has to be “10x more eager than the average Jersey chick.” What I got from that is that Jersey girls are go-getters I don’t know how that could be construed any differently. Her style is cute. I voted Bombshell because some of the looks have the potential to be completely WRONG but she styles them well and seems to know how to put certain combos together that work. Only think I would suggest (as a 5’3 and busty girl) is to watch how you do proportions and fit. Love the leopard skirt look.

  61. Her high wasted skirts are BOMB!
I’m from jersey so I don’t quite get her little comment.
OTHER THAN THAT…I love her attitude, when you doin big things AND you look good people tend to hate.
    ARDNAS YOU ARE FABULOUS!
PS. lookin foward to your blog :)

  62. This girl’s 1st statement was, It took 2 years to build up enough confidence to submit her photos, and so many of you guys took her playfull comments and ran with them in a negative direction. And the nerve of some of you to judge on someone’s profession, what a great way to tear someone down just because she’s a grocery store clerk, not knowing what the situation may be for this girl.

She’s definitely a Bombshell and I wish that she submitted her pics sooner. Good luck with the blog!!!

  63. Pretty gurl, nice style….. she should have just sent the pictures and not written anything…SMH

  64. When it’s all said and done..

SHE IS A BOMBSHELL whether you liked her comments or not and I didn’t sense attitude at all she is a doll and fashion bomb obviously liked her enough to feature her let’s see you hating bastards email a photo and see what feedback you get?

  65. LOL! Those red pants look like they are about to POP right off. She looks a little sloppy. Legs need exfoliation and lotion. I see where she is going with the outfit, but she still managed to look overall “ASHY”. And boo come one…you got on the cheapest pair of red bottoms. :) CHILE BOO!

  66. Cute chick I’d see in an urban club, but not a fashion bomb. I may get flack for saying it, but she would look more chic/pulled togeher if she lost 15 lbs. This is coming from another curvy girl who has made her own journey to weight loss and fitness. I look much better in my size 8 vs size 14. Not just talking about the body but the way the clothes & lines show…not to mention the health aspect. We don’t need to be toothpicks but let’s keep it tight ladies. Plus I’m just tired of reading all these articles about how we’re fat, angry, and manless…

  67. Those red bottoms look like some $10 shoe that somebody took a can of red paint to. I ain’t convinced.

  68. I think she looks fabulous. Great style.

As a Jersey girl, her comment did throw me off (believe it or not, we don’t all worship hairspray and leopard print LOL), but @hayilabc’s breakdown of it sounds more accurate. Glad she worked up the courage to share her style with us!

  69. Hey girl Hey…she is from my hometown and she represented our city in such a GREAT manner! Most people in Milwaukee Do NOT look like that, trust and believe! You worked it girl and you look AMAZING keep up the good work Doll!

  70. I LIVE!!!!! @NYC Girl you probably didnt look as good in a size 14 and you probably had low self esteem, she is definitely curvy, she could lose her tummy a lil though but other than that stop hating WTF you bitches blow me with the weight jokes what does it have to do with her style, I personally think the clothes fall great on her! You can’t knock her, her confidence is baddddd!!!!

  71. I love her looks, but I guess I am the only person who noticed that many of these looks are ‘recycled’ from celebrities and youtube gurus: Yellow and leopard – styled by june; red pants and denim – Khloe kardashian; turquoise tribal – youtube guru Lover4fashion.

I am just saying – I dont like people who bite others style and try to claim as their own. We really are not THAT original.

  72. This is the first time in a while I actually voted for someone as a bombshell. Can’t deny the girl has great style. I choose not to be offended by her label or NJ comments because for all I know, they were probably meant as jokes. It’s hard to discern people’s intentions just by reading words on a screen. She seems like a playful girl, so for all purposes those comments were probably jokes, everyone should just chill.

  73. I don’t think that she was “throwing” shade at Jesery Chicks. Basically, from my understanding, she was saying that they are hustlers and she was using it as an analogy.

  74. I thought she was being funny/cute with her comments. I took the Jersey remark to mean she needed to try harder, which isn’t an insult. And if I’m wrong, and she WAS insulting Jersey — well, I grew up in Jersey and hated every second of it, so whatever. She’s a cute gal.

  75. I personally don’t need to lighten up… I have an awesome sense of humor, LOL… BUT I did take the “Jersey” comment as a dig… And what?! O_o I WILL however admit that she has a good sense of style… Anyway… it ain that serious… lol

  76. it’s not orginal. but she looks decent. she displays typical fashion trends, nothing is special abt either look. nice pieces but paired off badly..
