So Thanksgiving is tomorrow!
We’re giving you our Bombshell, Akua from the Bronx, a bit early so we can get a head start on the holiday:

She says, “I’m an upcoming fashion designer.”

“.. My clothing line is called MABM Designs.”

“My style is basically simple, stylish…”

“…and influenced by my rich African background.”

” I also wear a lot of vintage and colors.”

“My clothing line offers modern feminine designs which caters to sophisticated women who are looking for distinctive outdoor clothing…”

“.. and also those who embrace their nurtured sense of style.”

Lovely! I adore your use of color. Check out Akua’s line on Facebook.

  1. Super stylish…she knows how to put together an outfit and she looks confident/happy in them! I love her mix of color, patterns and textures. Some pieces I may not wear for myself but Akua is working her style! That’s the distinction between style, fashion and dressing. Style, to me, is an entire presentation of ones individual expression through throught clothes, accessories, and attitude regardless of what’s trending or what the next person thinks.

  2. She’s cute. Very colorful. I dig that. I love the yellow pencil skirt, but I think she should be careful of over-accessorizing and being too matching with some of her accessories. I also think she could benefit from removing maybe 1 or 2 things from her final look.

  3. Shes ADORABLE!!!! i love it

and Akua ima need you to cough up that navy blue n white stripe dress with the bow immediately, 2 cute!

  4. I’m gpoing to say something I haven’t said about FBOT…Interesting, very interesting. The Minnie Mouse joint can be left in the closet and lord knows I am over color blocking but she does a great job! And love the hair! Team boho box braids!

  5. OMG!!!!!!!!!!! SHUT THE FRONT DOOR HER STYLE IS AMAZING AND SO ADORABLE …. I LUV IT GREAT PICK

  6. Fabolous. A return to Bomb!

love the color, love her smile! I want that black top handle and those leopard loafs!!

  7. a round of applause because this sista gets it…. serves it and I loves it !!!!!
Bravo, she’s lovely and her sense of style and fearless use of colors is fabulous !

  8. She is kinda clownish looking.. she puts everything on at once…with all. That uneccesary makeup.. idk she’s a hit and miss for me. There is something missing.

  9. im sorry. but colourful and african doesnt make it an automatic ok. i just dont like it. better fitting would help. cute gal

  10. FAB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  11. it has a very retro feel to it which i personally am not a big fan of. but style is something very personal. and if she loves it, who are we to hate

  12. The last look is hot! The rest… meh.
But she’s reppin’ Ghana, so she’s a-ok in my book, lol.

  13. She’s so fab, but I recall the age-old advice (attributed to Coco Chanel?): Always remove one accessory before leaving the house. For her, I’d up it to 3. Like that fur stole? Imagine fierce, well-fitting black blazer, leather leggings, and black boots: the stole would shine! Right now so many things are competing at once. The multicolor piling on of large, loud accessories makes her look a little costumey. Also, Minnie Mouse dress? Great for Minnie, not so much for 20-somethings (which I’m assuming she is.) Unless you’re Rihanna, Lady Gaga, or Katy Perry. Just my advice. Werk, Akua!

  14. I love her style!!! Lovely well put together!!!! People fail being more original! Need more different unique people with styles!

  15. How did I miss this…she gets points just because she is from The Boogie Down!

I that she is not afraid of bold traffic stopping color. There are some outfits that I really love for example the white romper look with the Royal Blue shoes. But I do agree with the over accessorizing. Too many accessories can really take away from even the best outfit. Her hair is great! She looks good in braids and in short cuts.

  16. yes.YES.YESSSSSSSS!
FINALLY a real innovative and creative fashion bomb on this site!
Colorful, youthful style choices that fit her shape and rock my world.

    LOVEit.

  17. I have to say this is wayyyy better than alot that have been being posted she looks great and I think she wears most of the outfits very well… I think I have to agree with some comments that she could loose an accesory or TWO in some of them lol. Not a fan of the red n white that could go back and in the closet and never come out again (just my thoughts) and the blazer and headband again another accesory that could go… other than that 2 thumbs up!!!!

  18. I really enjoy the color blocking, but my favorite ensembles would have to be the one with the leopard loafers, and the one with the fur shawl, those seem really well put together.

  19. Now she most def knows what colors and shades compliment her complexion. Absolutely inspiring! Thanks for sharing!

  20. Yes, she stops traffic, but not in a good way. Outfits are mix of confusion and too much confidence. It’s not the way she plays with colors, it’s the horrible patterns that clash with the colors. two thumbs up for the effort, but not a good look in my book.

  21. I know Akua personally and I’ve never had the nerve to tell her that her style is okay(sometimes). Sometimes she is on point, and other times she’s a hot mess of colrful confusion walking down the street. I’ve never been a fan of her style, it’s just tacky.
