  1. No she isn’t a bombshell at all she is a trend follower. Yes she dresses well but so do I and her styles were very everyday.

  2. I liked the majority of her outfits. While I don’t like EVERY hairstyle, I appreciate that she likes variety and diversity. Pretty girl!

  3. She tried .
I wish for originality,I wish to see something unique that i can borrow from.Am really thirsty for the BOMBSHELL that seems to be on vacations .Daily Bombshell, please drop your BOMB whenever you are,I need you now.I’m hopelessly bored right now,pls feed my hunger.
    Claire,Set me free !

  4. I’m feeling yes/no – I was honestly torn with her. It is really H&Mish but she is pretty well put together so there’s that. I’d like to see her in a year.

I wish you all would put out a list of criteria for the bombshell. I know that’s hard bc you can’t stifle what someone feels is their personal style…but there still needs to be something that says this is what FashionBomb Daily considers a Fashion Bomb.

    Do y’all agree?

  5. Fortyisthenew40 why do you even know what h&m is? You 40 years old get ya money up you bargain shopper

  6. @FortyisthenewForty….clearly you shouldn’t be concerned with what the criteria is for a Bombshell…you surely can’t consider yourself one looking like the Hulk with a foolish weave…please have several seats and step your tacky ass fashion game up.

  7. Lovely girl with pretty style! I see nothing wrong with this girl the post have been on point. 40 is 40 why the hell you hatin’ on someone half your age? Can she live? Let the girl shine and get on a site more age appropriate for you like Oprah.com do yall agree?

  8. You know I agree. Menopause definitely in action. HATin ass. Menstrual cycle discharges dust you OLD BIT

  9. So, this is what has you and your friends’ panties in a bunch, huh? Okay, first, just for the sake of clarity – the comment about criteria had *nothing* to do with this young lady. I am on here frequently and have bought it up on more than one occasion. I think it would be helpful to the community that comments here to know what FBD considers a Fashionbomb since opinions are so varied. Second, as I told the sister who made comments on my Instagram, this is an open discussion, that’s why Claire says to bring your A game bc comments can be harsh. My comments are not harsh, they *are* however my opinion. That’s what happens when you open yourself up for critique. Re-read my comment, there was no ‘hate’ in my critique.

Now, Ms. Keytra_Lashay, @LashayG, DolceKay, Foxybrown_251… Your comments on my Instagram page read like a tantrum, but I get it, you thought I maligned your friend and you were angry, that’s somewhat understandable. Your comments on my blog, however, were just downright rude and so unbecoming of an educator and an AKA at that. Although my blood bleeds Crimson and Cream, I have so many lovely, mature, kind hearted AKA friends that I know that your behavior is not indicative of the whole organization. I called my good friend Mary, the SE Regional Director just to chat because I was sure she would share my feelings (we did some Panhellenic work together) and she expressed how unfortunate the public display was and hoped that you were attending the cluster in Selma this weekend so you can get a fresh reminder of what it meant to wear those pretty pearls.

That being said, I’ll end with this. I am a frequent visitor to this site. I enjoy the post and the conversations. More often than not I am very thoughtful of what I write so as not to offend anyone personally. I get that there are people at the other end of these keyboards. My comment today was not a personal attack on this sister – it was my opinion- and Twinetta if you took it that way, I do apologize to you and you alone.

    Good day.

  10. her style is too basic, and the pencil skirt with the striped white heels, thats a no no although i love the white skirt

  11. I like the majority of her clothes,i just don’t like the white gladiators, she’s pretty girl.
@ those who feel it’s an everyday wear or IG calibre,to be considered a bombshell do you have to submit ranway ensembles?

I guess what is a bombshell will depend on ones personal style

  12. I liked the submission. Overall she wore well fitting clothing on trend. She herself is pretty so that helped. I think matching is good when so many mismatch and get it wrong. Good job.

  13. Fortyisthenewforty, your comment speaks for itself. It shows maturity.
When you have the heart and courage to submit your pics for public view, make sure your elephant skin is right in place or don’t .I believe the comments made here whether harsh or soft is for your own good to make amend and upgrade.Claire MADE IT KNOWN FOR ANYONE TO EXPECT ANYTHING .

We should be talking fashion, that’s OUTFITS NOT CAPITAL STUPIDITY AS IN MENOPAUSE OR SHIT BECAUSE I BELIEVE MAJORITY OF US HERE ARE WOMEN WHO WILL ONE DAY GO THROUGH SUCH,WHICH IS A BLESSING !

Just for the records,I count everyday of my life a blessing from God,lots of people died before seeing 30 so zip it sister if you have nothing better or sensible to say !
If you are sensitive please, please & please don’t post, feel free to learn & borrow from the good & upgrade your style just like i do everyday.Don’t bring your childish fight here,We have enough fights going on all round the world PLEASE !

LOVE YOU SO MUCH CLAIRE,40DNEW40,YOU GO GIRL,I LOVE YOUR MATURITY !

  14. @FORTYISTHENEWFORTY ma’am i am so incredibly proud of you and the way you have carried yourself. You are such a lady and you have class. I cant imagine why people would take time to hatefully attack you on your personal social media accounts because of a comment that wasn’t even remotely derogatory. The premise of a fashionbombdaily submission is to showcase your style AND that leaves you open to criticism. If you do not wish to be critiqued, do not submit. I understand showing support for your friend. But it is very unbecoming to be so rude and unnecessarily so. Those women..actually girls were able to personally attack you because you were courageous enough to post your comment without anonymity. There are worse comments here. But I guess you were the easiest target. They kept bringing up your age as if age is a disease..as if we all wont grow old. But you handled yourself and them with a class and grace that maybe could only come with age. That cant be a bad thing. I don’t know what rebuttal they can come back with but either way,you CLEARLY won this one. Thank you for showing that black women can be civil, smart and ladylike and despite the hate they’ve thrown at you, I really do hope you have a great day.

    Sincerely,
A 25 year old you’ve inspired to do and be better.

As for Twinnita’s style, its okay. It could use some polishing. Some hits and some misses. Those white shoes are awful. For the record, it DOES look H&Mish.. So you stans can come for me too.

  15. Also quick question Claire: Is there an age limit on this site? Because your readers seem to think that fashionbombdaily and fashion in general is for the younger demographic. Therefore, someone who is over 40 can’t have a voice here and is viciously and personally attacked for respectfully stating her opinion. I could have sworn the site caters to every demographic. Please correct me if I’m wrong. Am I missing something??

  16. I think she looks great. I like the all black outfit with the purple lipstick and the first picture with the Target/ Nieman Marcus top. I can tell where she got most of her pieces, but they work.

my only caution would be thngs like the last green skirt and fabric. The fabric on it looks very low quality.

otherwise, go forth and conquer cuz you fly.

  17. Overall everything works and is very stylish. However, I don’t see h&m more so a lot of Zara pieces (which that’s a great store!) People make negative comments on most blog post and of course people are going to respond to those comments. For the people replying with essays about this fortyisthenewforty person maybe you should find something more important to take the extra time off your hands! Compared to some of the other selections of fashion bombshell of the day I think she was a great selection!

  18. Lol like really LMAO at the kiddies who thought this blog was for teeny boopers, RiRi wannabees, and 20somethings….I’m 32!

I like her trendy, sassy, with a splash of sparkle style. But the hair in that first pic, with the super wide part…no. It didn’t kill a great outfit (it is my favorite pice) but was a bit distracting.

  19. I am appalled and disgusted by the behavior of Ms. Keytra_Lashay, @LashayG, DolceKay, Foxybrown_251. This exactly is what lack of education causes–young girls who are unable to decipher a harmless comment and thus resort to spewing bile.

How dare you be so rude to someone because of their age? How dare you attempt to demoralize and belittle someone in this manner. She is age 40, so what??? When a child is born into this world, it is the prayer of everyone that they live to a ripe old age. Except you all plan to die young, you all will be age 40 someday. I have read horrid comments on this site, but your repugnant and depraved utterances surely take the cake!!

They say karma is a bitch, but no, karma is not a bitch. It is a biblical law that states, “What you reap is what you sow”, and one day you all will be dealt with the same hand.

  20. Let me get this straight, @Joi thinks that the people commending @fortyisthenewforty for the mature way she handled the barrage of abuse, have too much time on their hands? So what would you say about the jobless children who have stalked her on her Instagram and her blog, because of a not so harsh comment she made here? Urrrgh, some people defy logic.

@FortyisthenewForty – Kudos to you! I don’t believe your mature, intelligent rhetoric is simply because you are a grown woman. You were obviously brought up and not dragged up.

In regards to Twinetta’s style, it’s meh. *shrugs shoulders* and H&Mish in my humble opinion. The only outfit I really like is the yellow blouse with white pleated skirt.
As for the white bandage shoes…er no. Looks like she left her crutches at home.

  21. People People can we grown up and stop having theses childish comments everyone has there own opinions and the right to speak them. But can we use are ABC’s (always be classy) and show respect to Ms. Twinetta ?

  22. Oh my, this comment section turned into an all out keyboard war instead of what it is really about and that is “fashion”. Critiquing is ok, but it is not alright to put someone down. People need to stop taking critiquing as an insult. Everyone is entitled to their opinion. Maturity and growth comes with age ladies. Please don’t react with anger because it comes across as immaturity. I am 31 and I can’t understand why people have to react with negativity and harsh cruel insults instead of positive feedback. I am not throwing shade or negativity but can we not do what happen above in every FBD POST.

  23. I like her outfit with the white skirt and the one with bright red trousers.

I would like to say why do people give such ridiculous and over thought descriptions of their style. Keep it simple, you wear it because you like it… done.
