TGIF!!
Last night I had the sincere pleasure of hosting a Spring Trends Shopping Party at Brooklyn boutique, Michelle New York.

Guests sipped cocktails provided by Brooklyn Republic Vodka while perusing the shop’s spring ready pieces:

Michelle had tons on tap to usher in warm weather, including on trend neon bangles, flourishes of color, and classic accents like gold cuffs and bracelets:

During the event, I scurried around offering suggestions on how readers (and Jihan) could put a bit of spring into their wardrobes.

For example, with Emilia, I added a bit of sizzle to her blue dress with a neon belt cinched around the waist:

Voila!

It was super fun, as always, to meet readers, and do what I love to do (shop) at one of my favorite boutiques!

As for my outfit, I was dipped in all Michelle New York design, including a one shoulder tangerine dress and sparkling jewels:

I decided to color block a bit with a pair of patent YSL Tribute Patent Sandals in the season’s hottest color: mint.

What do you think?

Special thanks to Charlene and Michelle of Michelle New York, Brooklyn Republic Vodka for providing drinks, as well as Miss Jessie’s and Essence for supplying goodies for our goody bags!

If you couldn’t make it, we missed you! But be sure to pop by Michelle New York (376 Atlantic Ave., Brooklyn, NY 11217) if you ever find yourself in Brooklyn. In addition to having oodles of chic pieces, the accessories are bananas! And if you see something you like and live out of state, give them a call at (718) 643-1680 to inquire about prices and shipping.
Stay tuned for more fun Fashion Bomb events.

  1. @ Claire. I saw your pic of your nails on Instagram and I would be lying if I said it wasn’t hot. I can’t wait to try an inspired look.

Looks like fun. I need one of those scrves in my life.

  2. Clarie, How can I purchase one of those zodiac necklaces?? FYI I currently live in Texas :(

  3. Claire
Your hair, nail and make up were the bomb. However, I did not like this particular dress on you. Anyways still a big fan. Cannot wait to see more events. You are such an inspiration and I love what you do.

  4. I love the usage of primary and secondary colors. I think majority of people always shy away from those colors. If you ever notice, most people always run to tertiary colors. yay!! I have decided to fill my closet with primary and secondary colors. I think those colors are great for those with dark skin. I love it!

  5. You Looked Awesome CLAIRE!!

I want to visit this boutique soon… Everything looked Great!

  6. This looks like it was so much fun! I hope you come to DC for an event (I’ll keep pushing for that : )

  10. Claire, you look gorgeous… And those mont Tributes are the truth. Love the tribute 5 1/2 inces of serious beauty and comfort. Have black ordering red on Monday.

  11. Thanks for the comments and to everyone who came!
@Nakia P LOVE the Tributes and they’re actually comfortable! I stood (almost) all three hours and didn’t want to limp home. But now I want them in every color. Sigh….!

  12. I’m so obsessed with colorblocking! Such a got trend that will probably never get old…love that chick black/white animal print clutch. The neon bracelets were hot too. Looks like fun…Claire you need to come host an event here in Las Vegas! :-)

  13. I am so confused on the season..in some shots we see fur, hoodies, and tobaggans and then we see shoulders out, bare legs and toes??
Claire—-another 20 lbs then that dress or 2 pairs of spanxs for now….

  14. Its funny because I wouldnt have worn the outfit prior to… but that neon yellow “waist cinch” turned the outfit a full 180, one of my favorite things to do (the waist cinch), my kind of style to fit my shape.

  15. I would have used another bra one that is seamless because you can see the lines of the bra or I would of worn a dress which was loose on the top half and tighter around the rest of the body. It is a beautiful color though.
