If there’s anything you can do to stand out in a crowd of Hollywood hopefuls, do it if you want to make it big. Niecy Nash did that in the early days of her career with her trademark hair flower. Though memorable, and quite possibly trendsetting as a few girls in my high school did it, the flower ran its course. Since then, Nash’s style has definitely improved. She traded in wrap, overruched cotton knit dresses for designers like Christian Siriano and Hervé Léger.
Though she’s a fan of an “all-black-everything” look to emphasize her more demure side…
…Nash’s vibrant personality bursts through when she sports bright colors like red and pink and exciting fabrics like sequins that accentuate her curvaceous frame yet add structure to her look.
Though her career may be built on how much she’s made audiences double over in laughter and her obvious acting chops, she makes it a point to spread awareness on violence in schools not being a laughing matter through her Mothers Against Violence In Schools (M.A.V.I.S.) initiative. It’s always comforting to know that stars use their celebrity status for a much bigger cause. And if that isn’t in style, I don’t know what is.
