Hey Guys!
So you might notice our new design!
The Fashion Bomb has had many facelifts since it debuted in August 2006. Let’s take a walk down memory lane, shall we?
It all started with the brown and pink cursive header accented with the red Kenneth Coles of a formerly anonymous urban fashionista (me!). Back in 2006, we were rocking with the Pepto Pink background and not much else! Unfortunately I wasn’t technologically savvy enough to take a screenshot, but thankfully I saved the header for posterity.
As we moved away from “Claire’s Tales of Shopping” and more into celebrity fashion and street style, I felt it time for a bit of a switcheroo. A full year later in August 2007, my original designer and I came up with this collage of funky images, throwing in shots of covergirls Beyoncé and Jennifer Hudson along with polaroids of Real Style and splashes of hot Miu Miu, Christian Louboutin, and Balenciaga heels.
We kept the collage theme going for May 2008, opting for brighter colors while maintaining our melange of models, jewelry, and bags:
August 2008 ushered in a new, brighter template. We got rid of the collage effect, and simply had yellow rays shooting up towards the cursive “The Fashion Bomb” font we still have today. Categories boasted fun colorful buttons of Louis Vuitton bags, Chanel heart shaped hoops, and oversized shades.
We’d clearly gotten the hang of redesigns, as we injected a bit of purple into the site in December 2008. Our pretty buttons stayed on the top as we added a bit of flourish to the sidebars. One thing I loved about that design was the “Just Because” section:
With thumbnails of everything from Judge Judy to Spongebob to Patsy from Absolutely Fabulous, the pictures were random, funny, and me. And they needed no explanation…they were there just because. I miss them so! Thankfully you can reminisce at the old blogspot, www.thefashionbomb.blogspot.com.
In February 2009, we made the courageous move from Blogger to WordPress. We adopted a new URL, www.fashionbombdaily.com, and a new ‘blogazine’ format to match.
In June 2009 we transitioned to a cityscape background that paid homage to urban fashion and even incorporated the Eiffel Tower to highlight my move to Paris.
6 months later, voila! We teamed up with the designer of Young, Black, and Fabulous and Necole Bitchie (among others) to come up with our new look. The goal was to streamline, get rid of the scrolling categories and headlines, and make the design simple, chic, and hot! We also referenced our collages of days past with sleek accessories and a dash of beauty.
We hope you like!

I think this is the best design yet to be honest. I’ve been reading this site since th beginning (kept on saying “ohh yeah! I remember dat!” lol) this is like a mixture of all of the previous designs: bright and fun but always chic!

I agree that this design is two thumbs up! It is eye catching, yet not over powering. Very clean & still fun. Great job!
It’s nice, but honestly I liked the previous design the best. It was my favorite.
Love this. I didn’t like the blogazine format. Happy Holidays!
