So Happy Post 4th of July!

Hope you guys had a fabulous holiday and long weekend!
It’s been 2 years since I’ve celebrated Independence Day in the States, so I decided to do the cheesy tourist thing in the morning and see the Statue of Liberty. Turns out the 4th was one of the worst days to do this–the lines to get to Ellis Island were long and who has three hours to spend waiting to get on a ferry? So I purchased a ticket for the Water Taxi to catch views of the statue up close:

For the day I chose to rock American designers in shades of red, white, and blue: A chambray shirt from the GAP, a BCBG Max Azria tie dye skirt, and a red leather pouch from American Apparel.

I accessorized with even more American elements–a gold Marc Jacobs watch, multicolored necklace by ken + dana, Kate Spade sweet nothing studs, Ray Ban aviator sunglasses, double bangles by blogger Jessie Adore, and Kelsi Dagger Camelia flat sandals.

Then it was off to a BBQ and an evening of Bowling + Fireworks at Lucky Strike (I discovered I’m a horrible bowler–boo).

What do you think? And what did you wear for the 4th?

Send your flix to th************@gm***.com.

  1. I’m not American and so I didn’t wear anything to celebrate with y’all but I like you ensemble alright. Wow, great work!

  3. And please when you don’t have any more use for your old stuff, do consider sending them my way I can put them to good use :-) …Africa.

  4. Claire, that tie dye skirt is just what the doctor ordered for my upcoming beach vacation… won’t wrinkle in the suitcase and casual enough for daytime sight seeing but the right top and heels make it just right for dinner and cocktails.

  5. Hey Hey!
So, I didn’t wear any foundation, I actually only use MAC’s blot powder in dark in the summer to reduce shine. I don’t really wear much on my face b/c I’ll sweat it right off. And yes, the lipstick is Ruby Woo! My fave. xx

  6. Claire, those Rayban aviators are the truth yo! I live in my wayfarers and aviators all year long.

  7. Loving the look and loving these “Claire’s Life” posts/pics! Keep ’em coming!

  11. @Lish Thank ya!
I really don’t do much. Work out 3 or so days a week, drink LOTS of water. I don’t drink juice or soda, just Vita Coco Coconut Water if I need something sweet. And I try to stay away from chicken & beef, I eat mostly fish and veggies! All my makeup is MAC but in the summer I focus on lips because anything on the face will just melt off. Maybe I’ll do a post, hmm….
