Today we’re going to the Caribbean with Priscilla from Guadeloupe:

She types, “ I’m working in public relations and I’m from Guadeloupe in the Caribbean.”

“My style is trendy and classy inspired by Caribbean and Europe as I’m French.”

“…I love bright colors and also the chic elegance of European designers.”

” With my blog: indizblog.blogspot.fr I share my fashion ideas and favorite trends.”

“I really hope to be a Fashion Bombshell of the day!!!! ”

  1. YES! FASHION BOMBSHELL OF THE DAY
ohhhhh, elle vient de chez moi , c’est géniaaallll
She comes from my little island.
Magnifique!!!! Je saute sur ton blog tout de suite ;-)

  2. She is very pretty…First dress & last dress even the outfit with the gold skirt very cute… The Peplum skirt paired with the necklace which you added a pop of color very nice!!

  3. Very pretty girl…. I love the first and the last pic the most!!!
The peplum dress is really nice right on the money with that dress and
clever to add a pop of color with the necklace. Yes i give you Fashion bomb and the reason why is because you look beautifully relaxed without overdoing! Kudos

  4. Nice classic girly style, nothing exceptional. I know I’m not the only one who wants to tell this “French” woman to WAKE UP a la Lawrence Fishburne in “School Daze”. Those who feel me know why. If I missed somewhere that she was born in France, then I apologize.

  5. First barefoot bombshell,no? I love it, good fit, and execution, great hair and skin. The black cut out dress is too cute and looks tailored. I would probably tuck the blue patent belt and shoes in the far back of the closet. Other than that, bombshell!

  6. Bonjour Claire,
A French bombshell, you just made my day. I don’t like her style but it is nice to see her rep for the French girls out there. Cute girl but her style doesn’t inspire me.

  7. Very nice, she looks good. I will give her bomb status because her clothes compliment her figure and she gave each look individuality with pieces ie scarf, bright belt, etc.

  8. I voted pretty but boring. Everything just looks normal and that’s not a criticism. I saw on her blog that she had a photo of you, Claire, while in Paris. Nice :)

  9. @KBS I read that. I know ppl from Guadeloupe and a few other islands speak French. But that’s a language.

  10. @ MsA

Maybe she’s from one of those French ‘speaking’ islands, which doesn’t make you French, just as being born in America doesn’t make one English because we speak the language lol. I voted pretty but boring because she is absolutely a cutie pie. The fashion was very lack luster….

  11. To the previous commenter, that questioned the bombshell’s heritage, Guadeloupe is an overseas region of France which is why Priscilla is considered to be French.

  12. @Kitana exactly. Because then my Antiguan fam would claim to be English… But yes, she is gorgeous and has a nice girly style.

  13. @MsA you should educate yourself before attacking people for no reason. Guadeloupe, Martinique and French Guyana are called “departements d’Outre-Mer”, which means they are considered the same as Ile de France (Paris), Normandie, Corsica or Cote-d’Azur. French territories just like Hawaii is to the US.
Guadeloupe is then a part of France.
Haiti is independant, therefore NOT French . Guadeloupe is not.

  14. Ya’ll reading into where she from instead of judging her fashion, and u petty a$$ females proceed to tell her what nationality she aint! SMDH at the so called classy females on this site. But if u post something dumb ima check u boo! stay on track!

  15. Not to beat a dead Caribbean horse, but she said she is from Guad. and she is French. Isn’t French a language and France a country? Can I be Puerto Rican, from (born in) New York and simultaneously speak 4 languages. Anywho, she’s fly.

  16. @ Suri… Well said … Merci pour cette leçon d’histoire et de géographie!
    Educate!!!

  17. I feel you Ms. A… I lived in France and grew up speaking French, but I knew I was Sierra Leonian. People kill me trying so desperately to deny their true African American roots. Slaves were taken from Africa and dropped off in the Caribbean and US… my grandmother told me “You can’t love the tree, but hate the root”. Embrace Africa, the motherland. I wonder if the french claim you?

  18. @Amiata AMEN! I doubt that the French claim them LMAO To @okkkk, @Suri and everybody else flying off the handle, calm down its not that deep. I didn’t see where MsA or anyone attacked the young lady. Speaking for myself, I have never in my life heard of no damn Guadelope and I’m sure I’m not the only one. Thats no reason to cuss everyone out have some class. As for this young ladys fashion I’m not impressed. Pretty and boring. Bonne journée!

  19. errrm, the French Republic (what we commonly know as France) is made up of numerous territories, in Europe, the Americas, Africa etc (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:France-Constituent-Lands.png) Also, the Netherlands has the same situation of being made up of different territories in Europe and the Americas. So Guadaloupe IS France, obviously not part of the contiguous European territory of France, but you’re born in Guadaloupe, you ARE French, a citizen of France, you are an EU citizen…I mean, Guadaloupe is to France what any other department (sort of like a county) is to the country (along with other overseas departments like Reunion and Mayotte). The same with Tahiti in French Polynesia, which is also part of France, but an overseas region (sort of like a state) If you are born in Tahiti, you are French.

  20. Never heard of Guadeloupe???? okay.

@KBS…Well, Guadeloupe is part of France which is different from saying she is from a french speaking colony ie Haiti. So, if you are from France, you are French.

  21. Everything looks just okay; is okay enough to be considered a bombshell? Cute girl though…

  22. @ Amiata, Check Please – to a certain degree the French (in Europe) claim the islands/lands and citizens of the overseas territories rather ardently. I know working in a geopolitical sector that in the case of Martinique and Tahiti that there have been strong efforts to gain greater autonomy from continental France to no avail, France doesn’t want to cede these territories or allow their citizens to be less French somehow (education, culture etc). France continues to lobby VERY STRONGLY in the EU so that citizens of these overseas territories are granted the same rights as other EU citizens, and in some cases certain additional concessions (i.e. for economic or development support). But this ‘claiming’ of French citizenship, I get the impression that from a cultural perspective, some of the French population are not even accommodating of French citizens born in continental France who are of North African or Asian ethnicity. (excuse my essay haha)

  23. Ok are we all done with Social Studies/World History 101 yet……Moving on lovely young lady! Cute!

  24. If she were dark skin with type 4z hair, no one would have questioned her “I’m French” statement…most of you would have said, “Oh cool so she was born in France.” LMAO.
    *marinate on that one*

  25. Guadeloupe is a part of (overseas) France, unlike places like Sierra Leone and Haiti that are french speaking but are independent of France. People from France are referred as the French. I don’t see how hard that is to understand.

I swear, people kill me. Ignorance is never cute. Stick to fashion.

  26. @ TicaPica Thank you for your response, it is one of my favorites in this thread. When I read Priscilla’s statement about being French I immediately wondered if the average white person in France would happily accept that statement or bristle at it, but technically Guadeloupe is a part of France. And thank you for mentioning that many in France don’t accept non-whites born in continental France as culturally French. Anyway! Priscilla, you are lovely.

  27. It’s kinda pedestrian. I don’t feel like I see any French or Caribbean influences. I like the pop of the neon necklace on top of the grey peplum.

  28. Very nice ma…very nice! Wowww she’s boring…? Yep…the fat girls definitely get a pass on this here site….

  29. I love her style. It’s simple yet chic. I don’t know why everyone is making a big deal. If she says she’s French, then she’s French.

  30. @TicaPica, thank you for your explanation. @Marsha, I agree totally with your assessment. Why does the young lady’s statement that she’s French be put to question? I would assume she ought to know where she is from? LOL!

Boy, if it (whatever “it” may be) can be picked apart, people will find a way to do it I tell you.

Priscilla, I also agree you’re a lovely young lady and I think your outfits are simple yet chic. Really like the blog too!

  31. I grew up in Guadeloupe! Claire you are doing it for me today, first a Haitian and Italian designer and now a bombshell from Guadeloupe??? I love!
    Blessings

  32. Ummm…. why is everyone question if shes french. If she goes to another country she will have a french passport. I am of Haitian descent but most of my family is from Guadeloupe. Guadeloupe is in fact a French island as opposed to Haiti who is an independent French speaking island. She is French and that is all. In fact, my cousins who come to the states have school paid for by the French government when they come to states. Stop the ignorance! Amyways, I like her style. geesh!

  33. Checkplease stop trying to come for me! U hoodrat as* bitch u keep changing your name on here, but i’m not! The girl is technically french!!! Clair should discontinue these comments because ur blog has drawn a plethora of jackasses!@!

  34. And another thing CHECKPLEASE u need a refund on your education if u never heard of Guadeloupe! Assuming u even furthered yours.

  35. @Martinique_FR Ca m’enerve quand les gens font preuve d’ignorance.
Et ils ont le culot d’attaquer les autres! Oh hell noooooo! lol
During the election campaigns in France, the candidates have to go to those islands because they DO matter. They DO “claim” them (smh). By the way, Tahiti is a French territory as well.

  36. She is right. She is from a French territory of the Caribbean. Which Guadeloupe, Martinique are. Just like people from the US virgin Islands and Puerto Rico are Americans and people from Bermuda and other British territories are considered British. She didn’t deny that she was Caribbean. Just that she’s from one of the French islands of the Caribbean. Her style is cute and chic. And she’s very beautiful.

  37. @ er’body, IDC where she’s from or where her momma and daddy conceived her, my goodness i don’t know this chick. I don’t have a roster of every slave descendant that speaks French. If She says she’s from Utah and Chinese, then she’s from Utah and speaks Chinese, that was my only point, fall back. She’s a bombshell IMO, ok? But thanks for the history lesson.

  38. @oookkkk

Today is actually my first time commenting on this blog and I’ve only made one comment so what are you talking about? We do agree on one thing, Claire should not allow people like YOU who cuss like a ghetto rat or who’s ip address belongs to a public library comment on her blog. Why are you using profanity on a fashion blog? I guess you and this young lady are from the same island, why does it bother you that people arent familiar with it? You need to lay off the crack weed and liquor. You come off as a typical angry hood booger.

  39. Check Please, crack weed and liquor real original lls! U must be a Mitt Romney supporter because just with your stupid comments u get a raised eyebrow! Keep addressing me on here and u will continue to get ripped to threads!

  40. @Check Please Please check your facts before you go making assumptions about someone. It didn’t bother the people who use this blog that you guys weren’t familiar with it. What bothered us is that y’all slandered this young woman out of pure ignorance. Nothing is worse than someone who can’t even admit they’re in the wrong. You’re continuing to bicker as if you have not an ounce of maturity and I know you have to be better than that. I hope she doesn’t come across these ridiculous comments and if she does.. I hope your ignorance is nothing but a joke. Priscilla girl, you better work!! Your style is simple, but extremely flattering. Keep it up!!!

  41. @KBS

Not picking on you, just saying…but your example doesn’t fit. Sure, you don’t have to care but you had no problem scoffing at her. It’s not an issue of knowing the roster of displaced Africans, but general geography.

  42. Pretty young lady, not in love with the selections here but her blog displays in my opinion a better sense of her fashion style. Nonetheless your adorable regardless of your background.

  43. please open a book ! I’m from martinique and I’m french, guadeloupe and martinique are two islands which are two regions from France.
Why do people who are not cultivated are those who speak the most ? Damn !

  44. i love when you feature black women from other countries. They are usually beautiful, classy and trimm bodies and african american women dont like that because international black women are everything african american women want to be and are not. sssssh No wonder african america women are voted the most undesirable mating parteners.

  45. are you people here serious about questinioning this girl as french because she is not white. The same thing would be said of Blacks in american calling themselves American. Seriously anytime an african american go overseas and says im American without the African in it people look at you like you are crazy.American =whites African american =black people from africa. So really to look down upon this girl where most black people have the same problem of being identified with the african when you have been born there or not. My point all blacks are in the same situation as this girl people questioning our heritage.

  46. @ Check please. You do come off as hood-ish/trashy. “I have never in my life heard of no damn Guadelope and I’m sure I’m not the only one. ” You and like two other people out of 50.

Anywho I voted bombshell. Shes pretty and picked fitting and cute combos.

  47. Some of these comments are ridiculous!! Why you’re picking this girl apart because she says she’s French? Guadeloupe is part of France so therefore she’s French! Geez some people! Anyway I voted bombshell because her looks are polished without being over the top and I liked the way she mixes the European and Caribbean aesthetic in her style!

  48. @MSA, When you are born in Guadeloupe you are French. Your nationality is French. Guadeloupe has been occupied by French since the slaves were brought from Africa tio work replace the indians thart were there.

Guadeloupe is a French island and is under French rulership just like the island of Corsica in the south of France, Tahiti, French Guiana etc… The island is a mix of African, Europeans, indians and more. The official language is French and the education and the every day life rooted in a mix of European and Kreyol heritage. It is also part of the Union European. Meaning that when you are born there, your passport says, French citizen but also from the European Union.

How do I know it because I was born there but I currenly reside in New York.

  49. To those that think that the general white French people don’t consider us French get your facts straights. Our island has been French since centuries ago. If you take a trip there, you will be surprise to see how many white and black people live together, marry together, work together, you get my grip. A white person that is born there is also considered French and is no less than a black person born there. The ignorance of some of the people on this blog is killing me. Open a book and get your facts straight before you start sounding uneducated.

Glad to see a French girl representing for my peoplel. Even though I am not too fond of her style like I mentiond above, she is my bombshell of the day. Signez fiere d’etre francaise.

  50. Thanks everyone for the comments and also for explaining what a French overseas department is such as Guadeloupe. I have no problem with my cultural background which I’m very proud of nor with my nationality which is french. As simple as that. Claire, I love this website

  51. @ Kayla,

You sound VERY, VERY ignorant, smh. This lady is indeed beautiful, but her fashion is just ok (the look with the royal blue patent leather shoes and belt kind of put the non-bombshell nail in the coffin for me). It (the fashion) didn’t wow me, therefore, I couldn’t vote bombshell. And I actually learned a lot from reading the comments. I now know that Guadeloupe, Martinique, and Tahiti are considered part of France.

  52. To keep it on topic, I love the outfit with the blue shoes and I totally dig the gray peplum with a shot of neon. It’s fun without trying to hard, and I like how she showcased different hairstyles. I love big hair and fancy her sunglasses too :) nice work, Priscilla!!

  53. I really like how ignorant some of these American women are coming across. *Sigh. I love her style. Very polished, simple, nothing outrageous or over the top because that is not her style. Something for the everyday wearer. Cute.

  54. you woman are FUNNNNNNY. Bicker Bicker Bicker. I can’t … oddly enough I love when things get negative here.

They are just mad your blog website address ends with .fr and not .com. If you had said you hailed from planet Mars i would not CARE … because some of you have failed to recognize this is not what this blog is about… ANYWHOO

Never heard of Guadeloupe, may have a new travel destination for 2013. Thanks Priscilla

  55. Wow, some of you Americans are very ignorant when it comes to other cultures and the rest of the world. Seriously, read a book and travel. If Priscilla says she’s French, then she’s French, how can you question her? Back to the topic, I voted bombshell as I think she puts herself together very nicely. Please continue to put more non-American girls on your site Claire, I enjoy those posts the most.

  56. LOL at some of you foreigners ‘opinions’ of Americans. Newsflash dumbo’s! You’re on an Americans website! i wonder if anyone from your areas of the world own a black fashion blog on the level of FBD, probably not thats why youre here. Claire block anti americans.

  57. lol wow, sometimes people tickle me.

    ‘Claire, block anit americans’

    yeah…okay.

This site is about fashion, who cares about all that holier than thou bs.

  58. Although her looks don’t have an overall wow factor, I like her style. The feel of the look makes her a Bombshell to me. She exudes classic elegance. I dig it.

  59. I love her random pops of color! Her picture with the high low dress seems so serene! I voted Bombshell :)

  60. Girls Are u kidding me? U talk being French or not while we should talk Fashion
(I’m myself from Guadeloupe and when I used to live in foreign countries I sometimes had to justify my accent saying “Actually I’m from a french Caribbean island” even if I’m black!)
And I got her point she meant she has a french inspired style because as a Guadeloupenian everyday life is so influenced and controled by the French, that’s why she just said she’s french.
Anywayz the truth is I’m glad she is Bombshell of the day but I have to admit she’s just a beautiful girl :-) her style is absolutely déja vu and doesn’t inspire me at all!

  61. Guadelope and Martinique are departments of France, as is Reunion in the Indian Ocean, so she is in fact a French citizen.

  62. Cute girl, really nice hair. I like it when it is curly. Her style is cute but nothing to write home about.

And yes I live in Paris and I think it is completely ridiculous that people that are from the French Caribbean actually consider themselves French. The French government does but you don’t have to. It is ridiculous… pick up some Franz Fanon (I would suggest Black Skin White Masks) and start to emancipate your mind. It is crazy that this is still happening in 2012.

  63. we do have too. If France recognizes her as french, and she recognizes herself as french. Why then won’t we give her the rights to acknowlege her as such. Some of you just want to be messy as if giving this girl her french citizenship is a problem for you or something. She is beautiful and has great style.
