Yesterday dancer, singer, and consummate entertainer Michael Joseph Jackson passed away:

Michael Joseph Jackson RIP

My fellow 80’s babies and music lovers alike are undoubtedly reeling from this information, struggling to process how someone so talented and relatively young could be gone so soon. Instead of focusing on our shock and sorrow, we at The Fashion Bomb would like to celebrate him today, and highlight the contributions he made to music, our culture, and most importantly fashion.

You don’t have to look very far to see how much his innovative style impacted the trendsetters of today.

From Beyoncé in her Single Ladies one glove steeze:

Beyonce Michael Jackson One Glove

To everyone from Rihanna and Kanye to Teyana Taylor rocking Michael Jackson inspired military jackets:

Kanye West Teyana Taylor Military Jacket

From young upstarts like Chris Brown taking cues from Thriller in slick red leather:

To a bevy of stars tipping their Fedoras in a particularly MJ way on and off red carpets:

Michael Jackson’s legacy will endure in fashion, music, and beyond.

May he rest in peace.

  1. This is really Great! I’m glad you did this post because musically he was a genius, but he made major contributions to fashion as well! R.I.P. Michael Jackson !

  2. Not to mention that amongst the celebrites in his videos he’s had Iman, Tyra Banks and Naomi Campbell. Great tribute post.

  3. This is such a hard pill to swallow. MJ inspired many to be themselves, be daring, and live life OFF THE WALL. I’ll always love him for that and he will be greatly missed.

    <3 you Michael!

and GREAT JOB on this, Claire and the FB staff!

  4. MJ will live forever through those jackets and fedoras. I wanna pay him tribute by wearing a one of those jackets over a dickies uniform. But I’m afraid it’s gonna cost me my job.

  5. This is a nice blog which show us that he even made a great contribution to fashion as well and most of the new the costume which the legendary the King of Pop worn before will truly be missed( Michael Jackson). From before and till now everyone has been following the footstep and even some of the singer too following his way of dressing up. Thanks for the blog and merry Christmas.
