  1. You look great my dear….but I’m a stickler for the right under garments, a sinched waist never hurt nobody…from one plus to another. Keep workin’ it though :-)

  2. Pretty girl! Some fits are just a tad bit tooo snug and not flattering to say the least. Other than that, I love her confidence!

  3. Pretty lady, but I see a lot of “clubbing” outfits. I’d like to see more of her everyday style.

  4. Great confidence, attractive woman. But, everything is club wear…would be interested to see what she wears to work or on a weekend.

By the way, slim wear is a girls best friend…no matter what size you are, it just streamlines your look. Since many of her outfits are quite…fitting…it would help pull it all together.

  5. @MarshaD you read my mind. She looks good, but she needs a girdle or spanx. I know women her size and bigger that ROCK some outfits and their undergarments provide a good foundation for clean lines and silhouettes.

  6. Super cute! Love the hair. I did vote hits & misses but I think the misses were for the reasons others mentioned. I got my body shaper at Target! And I shop at F21. Low quality clothing is cute but very unforgiving of every lump, wrinkle and roll.

    *goes searching for new hair*

  7. Beautiful girl and I like your outfits, very cute. My only recommendation would be that you invest in some shapewear for the tight fitting dresses/skirts. I’m not big at all but I wouldn’t leave the house without it myself. It makes all the difference.

  8. So pretty, I love your make up. The fashion is not super bomb, but your confidence is bomb and how you make clothes typical for slim girls work on big girls. FATshionista! I love.
    Blessings

  9. I love every outfit except the blue spandex. Everything else is fab!! Hair and make-up are fab too!

  10. Love it! I think she represented very well! :)

I would just say be careful with too-light foundation (ex: the striped top/red skirt photo).

  11. I voted bombshell. I’ve actually viewed her blog on and off the last 2 years and I think she’s fab- she wears her style well and exudes confidence doing so. I also like her mixes of colors and patterns.

For the person above who made the “club” apparel comment, I agree, some of her outfits do look “clubbish” however that is just her “look” even when shes dresses down (or at least from what I’ve seen on her blog), so I feel like the pictures are a true reflection of her overall style.

To the ladies who mentioned “shapewear”, I too feel as though shapewear is essential (spanx, girdles, good quality bras) however as someone who used to be a size 22 (I am now a 12) let me tell you, at a certain size even spanx can’t hide the extra fat, it certainly can downsize the extra baggage but it will not eliminate it completely – I personally just stayed away from very tight fitting garments as I didnt like my back fat and rolls showing. So Mia very well may be wearing spanx. This is NO SHADE at all, I am just saying certain things (spanx, concealer etc) can only make something look better not make the it disappear.

  12. i love mia!!!! shes a beautiful girl, and she has a trendy , cute , style. nothing else needs to be said, theres nothing wrong with her body, if she chooses to wear shapewear fine…….and if she doesnt……fine who cares! shes gorg!!!!!!! i mean if she likes it , i love it! just her confidence alone makes her fierce!

  13. I don’t think anything is wrong with her foundation. Sometimes lighting or flash can make foundation appear lighter. I like her make-up and her outfits for the most part. I do agree that body shapers can do the most of us good plus sized or not.

  14. Thanks Soul, it’s a hard journey, but so worth it…… I did it all in the name of fashion….lol

  15. She’s on point ! Love it ! And she seems like edge has a good spirit…..oh and I need that army vest in my life

  16. she’s a very pretty girl who’s comfortable in her own skin. although her style is cute it is basic. there wasn’t a lot of variety in her clothing choices. i mean, you can’t wear tight party clothes 24/7. i still like her style & her clothes look good on her, just not into the tight party look all of the time.

  17. Go Mia! Shes from my Hometown, and she does a great job with her clothing. She is very confident in what she wears and she does it well. Her makeup is always Fab!!

  18. The makeup looks mask-y in a few of the pictures. Flash and lighting are the worst nightmare to poorly matched and applied foundation. The looks are basic. Again, unworthy praise for a plus-sized submission. And like someone else said, in certain garments shapewear is a must; no matter what size.

  19. i love her i think she has so much confidence and it comes out in her clothes and thats what fashion is right…being and wear what we feel looks best on us and having the confidence to pull it off…
and to @Camilla congrats girl on your weight loss!!!

  20. Bravo Mia! I’m glad you had the courage to come on to FBD and then be selected. I love your looks and most of all you look like you are having FUN! The outfits are a bit young for my age and body, but the white tee, jean vest and maxi skirt I can do all do long. Keep doing you and I will check out your blog.

  21. Beautiful girl…looove the makeup! I don’t find any of the outfits to be figure flattering. Apple shaped figures should be particular about tight skimming skirts and pants. Practically puts a spotlight on her stomach.

  22. Cute girl..too heavy on the makeup…and I agree about the spanx or some other type of undergarment. Believe me small or full figured, they definitely make a huge difference in your look.

  23. She needs to let that horrid bright lipstick and kissy lip pose go ASAP!
It would be nice to see more everyday looks. Most people look good when they dress up to go out.

  24. Spandex and sheer fabrics on plus size women is NEVER figure flattering. It just highlights every roll, lump and bump. JS

  25. I’m at a loss on how she is a bombshell? She has on bunch of tight clothes that are ill fitting and make her look sloppy. Nothing unique or fashionable about the clothing items she put together.

  26. oh my gosh. oh my gosh! She has the same exact shape I do! I love her style! She totally just inspired me. For a long time ive hated myself because I feel I can never look good in anything because of my size and shape. I would look at all these beautiful people wearing clothes that I only would WISH I can wear and just feel super bad about myself. After looking at her blog and seeing how much she loves herself and how she styles her body, its such and inspiration! Thank you so much for featuring her! You dont know what you just did for me :)

  27. Love me some Mia. I’ve followed her blog for a few years and actually ran into her at a job fair at my school once. She’s been serving some dope styles for a while!

  28. @ Jennifer Exactly what I was thinking…I’m starting to understand why people feel the commenters are biased toward plus-size bombshells.

  29. Here is a great example of a woman that know her body and know how to dress it… she know she has great legs, despite being +sized. So she can wear skirts and shorts, no problem. Some people however don’t have great legs (like me for instance) and should therefore not “show them off”… please have some sense and be honest with yourself! or do something about it!

  30. I LOVE her style! Ever since I found her blog, I’ve been hooked. She certainly helped me to realize that you can be hot at any size. Her outfits, make-up, hair….everything…..always on point!

  31. Agreed, Jennifer. I’ve been a follower of Mia’s blog for about 2 or 3 years and this is her style. Mia, myself or any other plus size woman don’t HAVE to wear Spanx and girdles to “flatter” the shape. If she felt it was necessary, she would do it. Some people find the negative in EVERYTHING. As long as people are comfortable with themselves and confident in their wardrobe, that’s all that counts at the end of the day. People are always quick to tell a plus size woman to wear a girdle or Spanx. Some of you clearly missed the point of Mia submitting her pictures to FB in the first place. SMH
