Destiny Child Reunites at the Cowboy Carter Tour with Beyonce in Gold Fringed Lapointe

Beyonce ended her Cowboy Carter tour just how she started it…with a BANG! The 32-Grammy award winning singer reunited with Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams for a Destiny Child spectacle that was one for the books.

The girl group hasn’t taken center stage since 2018 when they performed at Coachella, so when they made an appearance last night at the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, fans we’re in an absolute uproar.

It’s only right that in addition to the incredible gold ensembles that we witnessed on staged last night that we also take a moment to recognize Beyonce’s brilliant and extraordinary work ethic.

From releasing new music, to embarking on new business endeavors, and going on a 6-month Renaissance tour followed by a 3-month ‘Cowboy Carter’ tour, Beyonce is relentless, and a perfect depiction of female empowerment.

For their glamourous reunion, Queen B stunned in a gold custom LaPointe sequins bodysuit that was adorned with rhinestones and had crystal embellished fringe down the sleeves. Styled by Shionat Turini, Bey’s matching fringe chaps were modern and ultra fabulous for an unforgettable evening.

Mirroring her sister, Kelly Rolland was captured donning a nude long sleeve body suit designed with gold crystals. She styled her luxe bodysuit with gold sparkly chaps, and looked phenomenal as she sashayed across the stage with her signature bob haircut flowing in the wind.

Michelle Williams was also a sight to behold, showing off her “ab-licious” frame, in a gold long sleeve crop top that she paired with metallic gold shorts, and fringed chaps. Her platform sandals elongated her legs, and you can tell that her recent work on Broadway has added to her confidence, and stage presence.

It’s great to see Beyonce, Kelly, and Michelle still so close and bonded after all these years, showing the importance and power of sisterhood. We wouldn’t be surprise if this trio decides to go on tour soon or agree to a Vegas residency, because the way they showed out last night, you can tell they’re gearing up for something special.

Women in US Poker: How the Industry is Finally Making Room at the Table

For years, poker in the United States has been a male-dominated space. Walk into almost any poker room and the stats back it up: only about 5% of players are women. According to World Series of Poker (WSOP) data, just 350 out of 8,569 entrants in the 2019 Main Event were women — a mere 4.1%. Even more striking, only 44 of them were under the age of 30. Despite this, the tides are slowly but steadily turning. In July 2025, Spanish poker pro Leonor “Leo” Margets made headlines by becoming the first woman to reach the WSOP Main Event final table since Barbara Enright in 1995. Margets finished seventh in a record-breaking field of 9,735 players, securing $1.5 million in winnings and once again proving women belong at the highest level of play.

But Margets’ deep run wasn’t just a personal milestone; it’s a signal to the broader poker world. The game is shifting. Women are becoming more visible, more vocal, and more victorious. From Hollywood stars who double as skilled players to female-founded startups using poker as a tool for career advancement, the landscape is evolving. And at last, the poker industry is beginning to catch up.

A New Kind of US Poker Room: Inclusivity Online and Off

One of the clearest signs that poker is embracing its female audience comes from the digital world. US poker platform Americas Cardroom is playing a pivotal role in this transformation. The site has actively worked to create a more inclusive environment, both through representation and philanthropy. In October 2024, Americas Cardroom hosted a charity poker tournament that raised $20,000 for the United Breast Cancer Foundation. Led by ambassadors like Katie Lindsay, Ebony Kenney, and Svitlana Dryha, the event was streamed live, allowing the players to share not just strategies, but stories of what it means to be a woman in the game.

But beyond charity, Americas Cardroom invests in fairness and safety, with anti-cheat technology, advanced bot detection, and certified random number generation to ensure a level playing field. That’s not just good business; it’s reassurance for women who might be wary of entering a traditionally male-dominated space. The platform has become a welcoming hub for poker newcomers and seasoned pros alike by focusing on player well-being and representation. This commitment to community and ethics starkly contrasts with poker’s marketing history.

As noted in Vice, poker has long leaned into gendered advertising, often showcasing women as models or accessories rather than players. That alienation has a cost. “When people talk about women in poker, they’re imagining all the 20-something attractive pros whose faces they’ve seen, and they’re not imagining the vast amounts of middle-aged and retirement-aged women who play,” explained Kara Scott, broadcaster and poker player. Americas Cardroom’s strategy offers a new playbook, one that recognizes the full spectrum of female players and treats them as equals at the table.

Poker as a Power Skill: From the Felt to the Boardroom

Beyond the chips and cards, poker is proving to be an unexpected but powerful tool for women in the business world. Chicago entrepreneur Jenny Just, featured in CBS News and Time, is spearheading a movement to teach one million women how to play poker, not for high-stakes tournaments, but for high-stakes careers. Her female-founded firm, Poker Power, believes that learning the game equips women with the confidence, risk assessment, and negotiation skills often required in leadership roles.

With women still holding only 28% of management positions in the United States, initiatives like Poker Power aim to close that gap. The idea is simple but revolutionary: By learning how to read opponents, manage resources, and make bold yet calculated decisions under pressure, women can translate these skills directly into the boardroom. Poker becomes less about the cards and more about control over situations, stakes, and the self.

This strategy has gained traction across college campuses, corporate retreats, and digital classrooms. It’s redefining poker not just as a hobby or career path but as a life skill. Perhaps more importantly, it’s fostering a new generation of women who won’t need permission to sit down at any table, poker or otherwise.

From Silver Screens to Card Tables: Redefining Femininity in Poker

Hollywood, too, has played a surprising role in reshaping perceptions of women in poker. Films like Molly’s Game, based on the real-life story of Molly Bloom, gave audiences a cinematic look at what it means for a woman to dominate in a world of high-stakes games and higher-stakes egos. But it’s not just fictional characters bringing attention to women in poker.

Actress and longtime poker player Jennifer Tilly embodies the perfect hybrid of glamour and grit. A regular on the tournament circuit with a World Series of Poker bracelet to her name, Tilly challenges outdated notions that poker is a game for men in hoodies. Her recent fashion moment for the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills reunion —a liquid gold dress by Michael Schmidt Studios, which turned heads at the star-studded event — was a bold statement that femininity and poker prowess aren’t mutually exclusive. She’s not the only one. From red carpets to live streams, women are owning their image, their strategy, and their spotlight.

This visibility matters. In a world where poker has long been marketed as a masculine pursuit, seeing women who are both fashionable and formidable helps rewrite the narrative. Poker isn’t an exclusive boys’ club anymore; it’s a game for anyone who wants to learn, play, and win.

Closing the Gap, Raising the Stakes

Leo Margets’ historic WSOP final table run was a wake-up call. Despite comprising just a fraction of the poker-playing population, women are making it further, louder, and smarter into the spotlight. Thanks to platforms like Americas Cardroom, power-forward initiatives like Jenny Just’s Poker Power, and the influence of pop culture icons like Jennifer Tilly, women are staking their claim in an industry that’s finally ready to meet them halfway. Poker is evolving, and the women who love the game are leading the charge.

Anne Hathaway Spotted Filming “The Devil Wears Prada 2” in a $7,900 Multicolor Gabriela Hearst Maxi Dress with a Cobalt Blue Fendi Bag

“But what you don’t know is that that sweater is not just blue, it’s not turquoise, it’s not lapis, it’s actually cerulean,” explained Andy Sachs to Miranda Priestly in the 2006 hit film “The Devil Wears Prada.

Now after almost two decades, the sequel to the legendary film is currently in the works, with Anne Hathaway recently photographed on set, serving color on a silver platter. We can’t help but imagine how she’d explain this ensemble to Priestly who has a critical eye, but knows exceptional craftsmanship when she see’s it.

Apart of Gabriela Hearst Spring ’25 collection, Hathaway’s multicolor linen dress channeled stained glass, and was created from a geometric drawing by Gabriela called “Aurora.”

The designer used a technique entitled “Let it Rip,’ where “colors were hand-painted on each strand to create a patchwork of rectangles separated by hand-embroidered ladders and frays.” This dress which is far from ordinary, took “a team of 40 artisans comprising of 30 embroiderers and 10 painters to achieve the panels.”

Made of recycled plastic, Anne accessorized with a $1,800 Blue Fendi “Basket Forty8” handbag that played with shapes–featuring a geometric-weave design, and the brand’s iconic twist lock. Her cognac brown platform sandals, and straw bucket hat gave resort wear vibes, hinting that “Andy Sachs” just might be going on a vacation this time around.

In a video of Hathaway on our Fashion Bomb daily Instagram page, @bygaya.sa shared, “Super in love with this movie 😢can’t wait,” while @liz_taylored wrote, “I’m so excited about this movie I can’t stand it!!!😭 ”

Footwear – Are Luxury and Comfort the Same Thing?

A quick look at the dictionary shows that luxury and comfort are related concepts, with luxury being “a state of great comfort.” This may not always be the case regarding footwear. In the fashion industry, luxury implies using high-end, expensive materials and a dress-to-impress approach; comfort is optional. Or is it? Keep reading and find out.

Style and Well-being

Sneakers are designed to provide comfort and stability for hours, much more than the traditional Oxford shoes for men or high heels. Indeed, the dress code sometimes requires such options, given their sophisticated looks and materials, while sneakers are considered more informal. Still, there are luxury sneakers that successfully blend style and comfort, looking good on pretty much any outfit.

According to specialists, choosing the right footwear isn’t only a matter of personal style preferences. After all, prolonged use of inadequate shoes can cause various health issues, from blisters and calluses to knee injuries and lower back pain. High heels may be fantastic for dinner parties but are terrible for standing up all day or walking long distances.

Amid concerns about the fashion industry’s environmental impact, some brands have also been working on eco-friendly products. Sustainable fashion is rising, using recycled materials and less pollutant dyeing methods. It’s not only about the resources used in the process; it’s an entirely different business model. Besides recycled materials, eco-friendly brands pursue fair trade certificates and produce considerably less.

Above all, they create long-lasting, repairable, and resellable items to reduce waste. Unfortunately, sustainable shoes are still a minority in the fashion industry, but the situation is gradually changing. The market for sustainable clothing is rising worldwide, with a projected revenue of USD 3.9 billion this year and a robust CAGR of 10.3% until 2033.

Where Luxury and Comfort Meet

Regarding footwear, luxury combines a striking design and high-end materials, which doesn’t always result in comfort. However, priorities are changing across younger generations who value comfort over looks. It explains why the once infamously bulky and classless “dad shoes” are bouncing back.

The global market size for sneakers registered revenue above USD 92 billion last year; this industry is expected to grow even further in the next few years. Indeed, sneakers are the most sold type of shoes worldwide, according to the platform Statista. While the “ugly” looks are still around for those who cherish or simply don’t care, it’s possible to find sneakers where comfort and luxury walk at the same pace.

Making dad shoes fashionable again and, for the first time luxurious, is all about updating its design and using breathable and natural materials, like cotton, silk, or linen. Leather is also an option, but not for a growing vegan public who prefer cruelty-free materials like the ones mentioned above.

Luxury and comfort in footwear don’t always align, but evolving trends prove they can coexist. With sustainability and wellness shaping consumer choices, brands now prioritize style and comfort, ushering in a future where high-end shoes no longer sacrifice well-being for prestige.
