My favorite part of this show was the relatable nature of its looks. I kid you not, after anxiously clicking through every ‘fit, I found myself taking note of Wu’s intricate detailing, his flair for mixing textures and his unique ability to make a sheer, caped button-up utterly enticing.
While sticking to his usual belted accentuations, the young designer threw a fashionable curevball as he strayed away from the typical slit-baring, fur clad route and embraced more masculine additions. From high-waisted trousers to expertly tailored vests, Wu’s genius is reflected in at every turn.
Jason Wu is the bomb. Plain and simple. And, after seeing this collection, I’ve garnered more inspiration than ever. Others may be weary of the sheer trend and even the adornment of monochrome suits but I believe this presentation brings about sense of sartorial quirkiness. Wu’s artistic light shines through in every frock and, without a doubt, he makes it known that classics can always house a modern twist.
