Yesterday, I was asked to speak on a panel about diversity in the media, sponsored by New York Urban League of Young Professionals (NYULYP). For the occasion, I went opted for a Suno Embroidered Cotton Dress:
It was a bit of a statement piece, so I kept everything else simple, accessorizing with my go to Suede Creme Jimmy Choo pumps.
A touch of Cyber Lipstick by Mac, and I was ready to go.

The discussion centered on how we can ameliorate the images of people of color in the media (and combat the negative stereotypes perpetuated by reality TV shows, for example).
My answer: create your own content! And if you don’t like what you see on TV, speak out about it. Networks will respond to pressure from viewers.
