We’re ending this action packed week with the lovely Shantel from Kansas City, Missouri:

She says, “I love patterns, texture, and color.”

” My motto is, “Dress to Impress Yourself.””

” More than half of my wardrobe is thrifted.”

” I want to open my own chic thrift store in the future.”

“… My website is www.littleknottzz.com.”

Simple and cute. Does she represent well for the Midwest?

  1. I am not sure if it is her stance of the clothes but either I really don’t care for her style. The form fitting dress and leather boots in the mid summer is a Huge No No. It is her style, what can you say

  2. I like every shoe but the boots. Her pose is almost the same in each pic, so she could have varied it a little to showcase the clothes a little more. And would it kill her to smile?! You know, so it looks like she actually likes the clothes she’s wearing? I bet she has a pretty smile too :)

  3. Smile?..,what u talking about?…she is trying to look fierce!!!! Fail. Damn u Tyra!! Her style is meh at best. great body though:-)

  4. Le sigh. Although she’s a bit more styled than the other fashion bombshell who loved vintage/thrift pieces (yesterday I believe), for some reason it comes off as ‘here, look at all the things I got at the thrift store today’. You know like a thrift store haul or something. But my fav pic would have to be the one with the yellow skirt- there’s something 1940ish about it. Love the natural hair and the flawless skin.

  5. LOL… I just have to make a joke… Why does these pictures look like she got caught shop lifting? LOL

I like the white lace off the shoulder top.

  6. What….I don’t understand….but I def don’t like the stank lookin’ poses….cute girl though but could use some polishing….

  7. Her style isn’t terrible, but it’s not really doing much of anything at all. She needs to punch it up a few notches so that one can really get a sense of her look.

  8. Its funny how the pics are obviously staged, yet she appear to be afraid of the camera bc she’s never looking at it. Her style isn’t awful though.

    ITA with 05girl too

  9. Gorgeous Girl! However, these were soo taken on the same day/hour…her makeup is the exact same in all the pics. And….the clothes do not move me at all!

  10. THE FACT THAT MANY OF THESE NOMINEES TAKE PICS IN THE SAME SPOT MAKES IT LOOK LIKE THEY ARE PULLING OUT THEIR BEST OUTFITS AND PUTTING THEM ON!!!! WE WANT TO SEE PICKS OF PPL TAKEN RANDOMLY WHILE THEIR OUT AND ABOUT NOT PICTURES CREATED AND POSED SPECIFICALLY SO THEY CAN BE NOMINATED…THAT ISH IS WACK. YOU’VE HAD SOME GOOD PPL ON HERE, DONT MUDDY IT UP WITH FAKE WANNA BE STYLISH FOLKS.

  11. Her style is kinda safe. On another note, people chill out with the shots at Claire, the Fashion Bomb of the Day and each other- you are not paying to be on this website. Claire chooses a number of people from flashy to simple, from plus size to model size- one thing this site strives to achieve is that fashion is an objective thing- some people love it..some don’t. So just because you don’t like today’s Fashion Bomb, don’t throw poo at the other kids at the playground and then proceed to pick up your toys and go home. *drops the mic*

  12. I am not sure what is going on style wise. A few good pieces, poorly executed. Isn’t Kansas City a bbq and baseball town? Perhaps this is what is hot in KC. Should we give some leeway for regional differences and expectations in fashion?

  13. I think she’s popping out a hip to give the appearance of a curve. Top model 101!
    I like her hair.
The pics make me sleepy. I feel like I want to splash some color on them to bring them to life.
Cute girl, nonetheless. OK style. :)

  14. wow, she’s gorgeous!
I like her style…I 100% believe that she would have gotten a much better response if she had smiled in the pictures.

  15. Such a pretty girl & I love her locs! She looks great in the yellow skirt/blue top combo would love to see more color on her!

  16. Here we go..everybody is a thrift shop queen!…Who would think in 2011…Goodwill/Salvation Army would be glamorized..Couple yrs ago…those stores were fronwned upon!

Cute girl…style doesn’t wow me..Alright..I do like the crochet long sleeve thingy!

  17. I dress the way I choose too. What I do love about style is that it’s exactly that. I rather not dress like everyone else…now if I had chose to wear a vogue..gucci..vintage dress with a high dollar shoe maybe I wouldn’t have been hated on. But hey personal style is always frowned upon. Never said I was a model so I do need to work on my posing…this is very nice to see I’m guessing everyone that commented is Tyra Banks when it comes to posing (lol) .. My wardrobe consists of store-bought and thrifted items. Nothing is wrong with that. Yes the shoots are planned..I don’t have the luxury of having a photographer. I’m working with what I have. I humbly thank Claire for the chance to be featured and the opinions of everyone. Bless

  18. “It looks (like )her thrifting isn’t by choice…” That is such a disgusting thing to say ClassCie. It truly shows how shallow you are. I went to your website and saw that you are dressed to the nines in cheap Forever 21, Rave attire- should I say perhaps you couldn’t afford high end stuff like Nordstroms…no I would say that is what she likes so she can wear it. Careful, your hate is showing.Disgusting.

  19. I like the shoes and sometimes you just want to wear boots in the middle of summer. I know I want to but the mid 80s and up weather stops me. Regarding the “staged pictures”, not everyone takes pictures of themselves while they’re out. It might just be that they put on outfits they’ve worn recently but didn’t have a chance to take pictures.

  20. I think her style works for & is cute on her! Everyone has their own personal style that may not work for the next…

  21. It’s not bad but not great either…I’m from the midwest (KCMO), and unfortunately…their sense of style is not all that great (except Chi-town).

  22. Lmao @ ClassCie….haha

Lmmfao @” Really?”….You are too funny…R u serious tho because some of her listed clothes on the blog say Bebe, Express, etc..Funny comment nonetheless!

  23. I respect criticism on a look that needs help …but some of you all are plain ignorant..like really this is why black women rarely get along..instead of giving your opinion ..you’d rather be catty, rude, and childish..I guess this is really a contest to see who can have the best comeback…I bet some of you don’t even have your own identity when it comes to your style…if it weren’t for celebs and designer placing outfits together for you in a magazine..you wouldn’t make it…All of you need to take 101 in respect! and to all of you who were RUDE instead of giving MATURE criticism..funny how you give ppl a keyboard they think they apart of the damn “Vogue Panel” lol! And some of you would never speak this way in person..lol what yall think this is “The Devil Wears Prada?” yall better go #sitdown and respect (personal ) style..This woman’s style can be spruced and tweaked. I follow her on youtube and she’s partner..this young woman is respectable..

  24. fashion and style is so individualized so if it works for her, shantel keep doing your thing. But I would say, i would of liked to see her smiling in some of pictures.

  25. @Empress Hells yeah I’m serious…congratulations she got a white tank from Nordstroms- someone get her a black card. The comment was uncalled for and homegirl is a previous Fashion Bombshell and I remember some people calling her out for wearing F21… I didn’t care cause it still looked nice. To make an attack so low ( that she may not have a choice but to buy Goodwill clothing) is so unbecoming of an otherwise pretty girl.

  26. Ok, I am going to revise my earlier statement because I didn’t comment on her fashion. I think she has nice style, I love her hair and she’s pretty. However, I dislike it when girls stick out their bottoms like that. I don’t understand. IMO it’s makes you less attractive.

  27. @ ClassCie that was so hateful and disgusting. Making fun of her with that comment was downright degrading. You really are a shame to womanhood

  28. To each their own. Not saying my comment was justified, but people made nasty comments on my post and instead of being offended by it, I took it as advice. I feel that when these fashion bombs send their pictures in, they must prepare themselves mentally for the comments. I honestly posted what came to mind. People said my clothes looked cheap and someone commented on me not being able to afford better clothes. It’s great to know you know my financial situation(sarcasm at its finest) but instead of getting defensive, I evaluated the comments and viewed my wardrobe from a different angle. From there, I chose to agree and take a different approach. You can’t expect to post images for thousands to see and not expect people to be truthful about their own opinions. It’s what you’re asking for, right?

  29. @ClassCie…..sooo because people said them things about you when you posted…you returned the favour? Guuuurrrrl….have several seats please. You are pathetic. Not everything that comes to mind should could to mouth….have some decorum.

  30. My point (that was ever so clearly overlooked) is people should be able to take constructive criticism. I’m sorry if your opinions never leave your brain but mine do, especially on a forum where opinions are welcomed. I also stated my comment wasn’t justified. So feel free to have those several seats for me…
I don’t mean to come off as a shallow, disrespectful female but I honestly didn’t think my comment would cause this much riff raff. I was obviously wrong in my assumptions.

  31. @classCie Remember how you felt when someone said your clothes looked cheap- exactly, imagine how this Bomb felt when you said she was basically poor. An eye for an eye…leaves both people blind.

  32. I don’t like the sweaters she is wearing. I always compliment one of my friends who is a thrifter for not looking like she stepped out of a thrift store. None of the items look too fashionable, regular clothes that can be picked up at your local mall. I do commend her for being brave enough to put herself out there. She has a great body, beautiful hair and face, the wardrobe not so much.
