Pretty! I love when you wear those saturated, monochromatic looks, like your pink suit and cobalt blue dress. Not a fan of the white cowboy boots, but maybe that’s a Texas thing?
What do you think?

  1. She has her own style. I’ll give her that! I love that she is not afraid to have her own unique look.

  2. I found a lot of her garments to be ill-fitting. I know there are certain garments that are meant to be loose however some of the items she’s wearing look like they are just hanging off of her – not tailored at all. Some hits, some misses for me (and honestly, it’s a lot more misses than hits)

  3. On behalf of Chaka Khan and every multifaceted diamond of a women, I say Shine ON! You’re giving me, I’m every women! Gone cast a spell you got secrets we can’t tell. . .

  4. the classic conservative is more my kind of style…but with a little more funk. But I have got to say that I looove the all pink ensemble….people dont really do the matching color thing anymore, and it was refreshing to see that.

  5. Umm no, I’m a Texan as well and the white cowboy boots are def not a Texan thing! lol But she’s cute. :-)

  6. Some hits some misses. As someone else commented ,her clothes ate ill fitting, especially the pink pants with the white top.

  7. Some hits, some misses! I love her pops of color in almost every outfit. Her “Stay Beautiful” reminds me I need to go back and see if they’ve restocked my size, lol.

Her blue and pink outfits are the best ones.

  8. I love how she plays with color and how she accesoirizes, not always a fan of the silhouettes.

  9. I am a fan! She looks amazing! The colors & style are hott!!! Neki is definitely not afraid of clothes! I love it! Go girlie!

  10. She has potential, but the shoes are throwing me off completely…and it’s not the white cowboys boots — I actually don’t mind those for Texas. The magenta and white ensemble is very ill fitting. On a positive note, I love the red glasses!

  11. She has some nice pieces, but they aren’t coming together. I too think she could benefit from a better shoe choice. LOL@ give Jerome his boots back. “I say Jerome in the house! Watch ya mouuuffff!”

  12. Thanks everyone for all words said. Sun.kissed your comment stood out because I swear the boots give me Jerome too!!! I LIVE for Martin! LOL ~ But they are fun for me!

  13. All of you are under the lame fashion impression that everything has to be fitted close and tight to the body. Obviously you missed a huge fashion shift to what the industry likes to call “Over-sizing your look”. And you also missed color-blocking, contrasting patterns, and adding an “ironic” piece to a classically styled outfit. However I’m not surprised, most of you more than likely have no “personal” since of style anyway. [sigh]

  14. I love her style. I love risk takers. Hence the name of her site. http://WWW.theyrejustclothes.com its perfect. We shouldn’t be afraid to try things. It works for her and inspires me to add a little color or wear “Jerome” boots in Texas. Do ya thing girl! I’M LIVING FOR THESE LOOKS. Also checked out your site and its Great as well! I completely get it! Do ya thang girl (n my chopped and screwed voice)

  15. I also think the items are ill-fitted, but something else is off to me. Some hits and some misses. I like the all pink suit and the dark blue dress, but she could step her shoe game up a bit.

    @Uel White
You’re right I have no “personal since” of style. Each to their own.

  16. Huh? Who said anything about her color blocking? From what I see most everyone here loved her pops of color. Even still there is an art to color blocking, I think she does just fine. I also think as constructive criticism that if she had choose a different shoe for each outfit, It would have been enhanced dramatically.

  17. I love her looks. She gives me the impression that as long as I’m comfortable in my clothes and my sense of style, I should rock it! Her blog is on another level, for me, of glam/fab-ulosity! I can stare at this site all day, great job Neki!

  18. Neki, you have some great pieces, and you definitely know how to play w/ colors.Great style babe ;-)

  19. I’m not inspired but…that does not mean that she can’t dress. Too often, we think a lack of inspiration is their fault and not the simple fact that we do not share their preferences, which is fine. But fashion is an individual thing and not for us to judge. So hibby jibby jooby, I’m out.

  20. Hummm Im torn between the Pink Suit & the Blue Dress both are my Favorite…………….
    Keep up the good work.
Don’t EVER become Weary in well doing!!!!! (you know the rest)

  21. CLEARLY this young lady has what it takes to be featured in todays article, sooooooooo, all the negativity should cease because if your opinion truly mattered you would be on here instead!!!!
    BOOP, and I’m done…

  22. she realy pretty but her clothes make her look frumpy however the blue dress proves that shes not.The clothes would have looked nicer if she changed her shoes thats what let her down

  23. It’s some hits and some misses, I really don’t like that ALL fuchsia (or pink) outfit its too much of the same color!

  24. I love how fashion is Followed , but style is Owned, and U MADAME, own Your Style I have and always will Adore it!

  25. I love her style, I’m confused about this whole shoe game thing. Being the shoe fanatic that I am I can clearly see that “HER SHOE GAME IS UP” From the Prada, Chloe, Dolce Vita, Boutique 9 and Stuart Weitzman! (real Fashionistas know REAL fashion) Is she suppose to have on a pair of “Red Bottoms” in every pic? As far as the clothes I think they work for her. It’s not something you see EVERYDAY so in my eyes she IS setting trends. I mean who can go wrong with cowboy boots in TEXAS????? That’s a given! Neki I applaud you and wish you much success! #I-Digress *Throws hands in the air*

  26. I was really impressed by this blog and whole concept of CELEBRATING fashion…. True style is all about what you are comfortable in…. Not labels, brands, trends or price tags…. Out of all these negetive comments… How many have been chosen as the BOMBSHELL?????

  27. I agree with Claire, those white cowboy boots have got to go! Especially with that purple dress. Some of her outfits make her look older and are a bit too big but overall, I liked most of her outfits.

  28. Think she’s got a great, comfy look. And I actually liked the white/pink ‘fit.

  29. I like some not all, but i think she has a clear style that works for her….but what’s on the ground that she keeps looking down?!?

  30. The cream blouse with the coral pants is my fav!!!! I also like the green blazer outfit. She has nice pieces, but Im just not a cowboy boots fan:-(

  31. Great job doll! I’m super proud of you and I know this is only the beginning to something far greater. You were destined for greatness and your style has a trademark dna…no clones. Take the bitter with the sweet, because the bitter builts character and the sweet makes life better. Live your life out loud instyle. My girl…is classicvintagefashionunlimited…beside What are you %!@+&’s afraid of they’re just clothes

  32. Loved it. Its her… and it’s not stuff you see every freaking day by the “Tumblr Models”

  33. I like it…its soft, classic/vintage, and like she said…conservative. Going to check out her blog.

  34. Good job Neki!

LMBO @ the Jerome references *in my Jerome singing voice* “Look at the white shoes…look at the white shoes!”

  35. IF she wore what everybody else wore, it would be Trendsetting!! Do your thang girl! You do it well!!

  36. SMH @ these negative comments. Where are YOUR pics? Don’t try and put other people down when we can’t even see you. Everyone is entitled to their opinion, but damn… you can’t say things honestly without sounding so brutal.

  37. Pretty use of color, but something is “off” with the execution. I agree with the others that something is off with the fit. Not because her clothes need to be tight, many of the outfits just don’t seem to complement her.
Also, a few tasteful, crisp, well-placed accessories could help pull together some of her looks (swapping out the accessories she currently has)

  38. I think she looks awesome. She has her own style and is not afraid to take risks. If those same clothes were on celebrities all y’all asses would love it…….
