Today’s Bombshell is Marlene from NYC:

She says, “I [split my time between] NYC and Miami.”

” I consider my style to be sophisticated glam with a hint of taboo chic.”

” At first, people have a misconception that I’m bougie based on my appearance.”

“…But once you get to know me, you’ll find my personality is as bright as the colors I wear.”

” I try to encourage my fellow plus size sisters to love and accept who they are…we all are beautiful. Know that true and lasting self confidence grows naturally when you become comfortable in your own skin.”

” I recently created a youtube channel www.youtube.com/SuperbFashionSense where I help remind my curvy divas that Fashion comes in all sizes….Don’t limit your style.”

Absolutely fabulous! You’re beautiful, have gorgeous hair, and style to match. Love that leopard fit, I might need to cop that!

  1. If anyone has something negative to say about her, they are seriously delusional! Every look was amazing, and she seems to always look completely on top of her game. I love it!!!!

  2. Her looks to come off as bougie to me, but she definately knows how to dress her body. Her looks are very well put together and not over the top. Oh and the fact that she is a beautiful girl doesnt hurt :)

  3. I rarely give props to big girls because they either dress sloppy or they look like they are about to bust out of their clothing.Only a few plus size fashion bombs have gotten props from me, and she is one of them. She understands what works for her body, and she wears it well. She seems to understand the power of shapers to keep it all tucked in. I’m not crazy about half fher outfits, but she knows what works for her and I give her props for that. Her weave game isn’t bad either. Two thumbs for the big girl that understands her body!

  4. loving all the looks and the hairs is on point too honey!!
ok I need to know where you found those high boots…can’t seem to find any to fit my thick thighs..help ;>

  5. @BlkRose…”I rarely give props to big girls because they either dress sloppy or they look like they are about to bust out of their clothing”…really?? Please have a seat. SMH.

  6. If I upset any big girls with my statement is simply because we black women tend to get a little too comfortable in our bigness. It’s not the fact that you are big, it’s the fact that you refuse to wear clothing that properly fit your shape. Spanx and shapers are a big girls bestfriend. the dry cleaners is a also a big girls best friend. get your clothing to properly fit yor body. My sister is a size 14-16, and her style is fab! simply because she understands how important the fit of your clothing is. So many big girls have come on here lokking lke the bag lady or some Atlanta stripper that ate too many hot wings. At the end of the day her style is nice compared to what I have seen.

  7. @BLKROSE too funny! I agree! Spanx is a big girls homegirl. Back to the subject, I like her style.

  8. I like her style its cute. Bougie people always say that lol…”like u kno, like people like always say I’m bougie until like they get to know me…”

  9. She’s fab. I love seeing real bodied fashion bombs. My only suggestion would be that Marlene take more risks. She looks great, but I bet she could work some more out of the box looks. All these looks are pretty safe. Maybe play with texture and patterns or show a lil more skin in some places.

  10. She has a cute style! Gorgeous features a definite bonus. Great hair seals the deal. Green bag I would love to add to my collection.

  11. That leopard blouse with that belt is some bad shit honey…As my mama would say…”She is too sharp!”

  12. the problem is most of the big girls they feature on here don’t know about proper foundation garments…this one does so she even better in her outfits….

  13. You know it’s fashion when you only see the clolthes and style first not the size. Plus she wears everything well from hair, shoes and accessories. These pieces would look great on any size and that’s what I like. I hate to even bring up her size because with this bombshell it’s irrelevant. “GREAT BOMBSHELL”….

  14. She looks nice. I like everything except the matching eye-shadow with your clothing. too matchy matchy

  15. I want to see BlkRose submit her pictures and let us judege her…People can be so critical!! I hate when people try to cover up their lack of tact with “Oh, I’m just blunt” or “I’m just telling it like it is”.

This blog has featured SEVERAL people in this segment who have not looked so great (of ALL shapes and sizes), yet you can only point out the plus size ladies. Ok Ms. “I rarely give props to big girls because they either dress sloppy or they look like they are about to bust out of their clothing”

  16. Why is it that we only see comments like, she knows her body type” or comments like “the problem is most of the big girls they feature on here don’t know about proper foundation garments” on the ladies who happen to be plus size?
I never see that when there is a lady who happens to be of smaller porpotions. Isn’t is possible that anyone of any size may not be able to dress for their proper body type.

  17. This is a real fashion bomb here.. She is not trying to be something she is not like most of the FB. She’s doing it up,regardless of what size she is… I’ve seen smaller chicks looking the biggest mess.. She is such a cutie pie. And in the last pic, she looks like a juicy Ciera(sp)

  18. She is BAD!….Hair and clothes are on point…She definitely knows her body! GO GIRL!…Now this is a bombshell….Marlene!

  19. Give me a break, I go in on the thin chicks also, you must have not read all of my post. With most thin women it’s not the fit, it’s just the fact that they have no real sense of style. The problem is real, and a few women on here agree, many big girls do not have an understanding of what works well for their bodies. They especially don’t have an understanding of proper under garments. heavy set chicks get their feelngs hurt too easily when you tell them to step their style game up. Stop crying, buy a spanx, and get some clothing that fits. End of story.

  20. Although I loathe the the word “bougie”, probably because its not a word, nor is it ever used in the correct context, I think her hair is fab. I’m not personally inspired, but I think she’s very well put together.

  21. I agree with the person above. I did not see her size. I saw her style. To those who think only “big” women wear/need foundations and shape wear, think again! Every “thin” celebrity wears them. Not too long ago I saw JLo on set and her dress blew and what do you know?! She had on a shaper! I’ve seen that happen to Blake Lively also and she is very thin! You look great girl! Well put together!!!

  22. i think it’s interesting how the tall thin nigerian lady got so much shade thrown at her but the overweight woman gets all kinds of kudos.

this woman here does not look immeasurably better than the other lady.

big girls just wanna support each other.

personally, i do not like to see overweight black women. i’m over it.

  23. I feel like its cute but typical…u kno. When other bomb shells do these looks she is called it sometimes there can b a bias

  24. I think your style is classy/sexy. I think your look is great- FYI: I always use my haterz as my motivators ;-) hope you do too – *hugs*

  25. Ehh not inspired. Not a fan of the bougie comment bc I don’t feel it’s necessary to mention. Favorite outfit would be the leopard outfit but I would have chosen different shoes. I like the fit of the second to last dress. Not a fan of the pic with the tall boots and the itty bitty bit of leg showing. I think she should experiment with different styles of dresses, and it’s not because she’s plus sized! I’m just growing tired of all the bodycon dresses. Also try different textures like a previous user mentioned.

  26. So the Nigerian chick should have gotten props because she was tall and thin and was a fan of everything black and a boring shoe game. Her style was okay! kinda classy, but something was off with most of her outfits. This chicks weave game is wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy better.

  27. I think she’s cute… The ‘fit with the green bag( which is hot btw) needs a clutch, the bag is too much…but that’s all…she’s looks great all the way around, hair, jewelry, fit…:)

  28. wow shes stunning i luv her style so much fab bombshell i luv the blue dress i need it in my life lol

  29. First, I would like to thank fashionbombdaily.com for choosing me to be today’s “Fashion Bombshell of the Day”. It is truly an honor. I love this site. I would like to thank everyone for all the kind comments. Everyone has their own preference, likes, dislikes and opinion. Whether plus size, curvaceous, slim or petite…we are all uniquely beautiful. Its not what you wear, its all about how you feel while wearing it. When you are confident and comfortable in your skin and love how you look…it shows. It’s beauty that captures our attention but its personality that captures our hearts. We get to steal hearts and expose our true selves through the art of “Fashion”

  30. Love the looks that this Fashion Bombshell of the Day has. I follow her on YouTube and was surprised when I came across her feature on this website. I look forward to her videos ever since I’ve subscribed :)

Ms. Marlene keep doing your thing!!!

  31. So wait, I’m supposed to compliment some Nigerian simply because she is tall and thin? GTFOOH! Her style is bland and her weave game is wack. Marlene beats that Ono(?) lady hands down, size has nothing to do with it.

  32. Fashion website the acknowledgement of style comes first. Marlene what a beautiful response you posted above I will be subscribing to your channel. You obviously have an eye for statement pieces. You look amazing in every picture submitted.

There should be an end to the “Cute for a big girl” etc references. People come in all shapes and sizes. Not everyone will be a size 6 and when people start coming to terms with that then the world will be a better place. Fashion will def be boring if everyone was the same size. respect diversity.

  33. @katie, Nigerians are people too just like Americans, you are so uncultured my dear, you dont say some Nigerian, u call her by her name and just because you dont know wht her name means, it doesnt give the right to say bad things about her. ppl should just stop trying to act like the better than everyone else because at the end of it all we’re all going to the same place, the grave.

now stylish lady Marlene, you stole my heart with that comment, power to self love :)

  34. Lawd its hot in this kitchen!!! OK just wanted to say I luv this bombshell. Im not a big girl But I saw style and immediately wanted to get my hands on some of those peices! Go girl and I TOO will be subscribing to your channel!!

    Oh and @BlkRose Have a seat…..please….just have a seat……I just cant.
Oh and something really was a little off bout ONO! Not trying to compare bc we are all different.

  35. Um I can’t take advertising box at the bodom of the screen (Better or for worse).I love this site but hate when it does this. Intrusive!

  36. I must say I have not been impressed with the lastest bombshell post but Marlene has totally revived that. She is a true Fashion Bombshell from head to toe!!! Work Honey!

  37. i’m late to the party but she is GORGEOUS! i love all of the looks. very well put together and polished without looking stuffy. does bright colors and neutrals equally well. the green bag….yessssss!

  38. how can anyone consider her bougie with that huge hoodrat tattoo on her chest?

::sigh:: hoodrats always taking out a billboard promoting that they “got class”.

    sure.

  39. She looks cute, I’m not going wow about any of her looks cause Ive seen them all before. I’m only “wowing” at the fact that she is a big girl who actually knows how to dress to flatter her figure. I’m not seeing rolls and lumps everywhere, which is always a good thing. Kudos I hope other big girls will learn from her. Lol

  40. FaBulous! Great style you have a great eye for fashion.. props to you don’t worry about stupid hater comments from jilli-foofoo / boo boo or whatever the name is.. they are just jealous that they can’t put it together like you! A+ Fashionista!

  41. Why do so many black women idolize Audrey Hepburn & Marilyn Monroe as their so called blamour/beauty style icons?
Rather than Dorothy Dandridge, Pearl Bailey, Lena Horne and Josephine Baker along with Dianne Carol? These black fashion icons are legendary and had style long before Marilyn had all her plastic surgery to achieve her “beauty”..so sad that BLACK WOMEN keep falling for the white icons..if I see another fashion Diva on their blog, youtube or on these pages with these dead white women on their walls I may just LOSE IT?
Does this not concern anyone else..that black women who care for their looks/fashion sense revere/grant icon status to WHITE WOMEN so frequently??

  42. Bish betta werk. She loos cute :)
Size in general when it comes to these posts should be irrelevant.

  43. Adorable!!! She has great style… no it’s not innovative but it’s fresh, chic and fits her impeccably! Fashion Bomb for sure.

  44. I’m going to be honest..a girl who is overweight is always a girl who is overweight the clothes do not, can not disguise the fatrolls.

Why don’t more women put work into getting fit rather than dressing it up as is? No everyone is meant to be a size 2 4 6 8 10 12 but when there are fat rolls, multiple chins and stomachs along with saggy knees then managing your WEIGHT should take precedence over shoes and purses….

  45. Great pick for bombshell of the day, I love every outfit!!! I want the leopard fit too & the colorful blazer with that green handbag. I love your style, you better work!!!

  46. I’m sorry I have to agree with the last comment I don’t think you have to be a size 2,4,5,6 but there is no such thing as a healthy overweight person try asking a doctor if that makes sense! BUT back to the topic at hand I loved the blazer look and black dress though she has a cute style.

  47. *Three snaps in a Z formation*WERK babygirl! As a Plus-size woman, I am taking notes…loved this!

  48. Aye you better work !! Baby bad from head to toe , and if you have anything negative to say it’s pure jealousy because i saw not one flaw , continue to do you boo : )
