  • Being a face of a high fashion brand like Dior isn’t enough for Rihanna–she wants to also be a designer.  Reports are surfacing that in addition to her recently launched temporary tattoos, the singer is set to drop an accessories collection.  Apparently Rih Rih filed an application for a new brand called $CHOOL KIlls searching for rights to work under the category of leather and other clothing products.  Sources have confessed that she will be dropping a line of totes and purses first and then going into full-fledged apparel later.   • Mass retailer Zara is being accused of racial profiling and discrimination in a new report from The Center for Popular Democracy.  Apparently employees use the term “special order” to indicate to other employees that someone might be stealing and this term was disproportionately used towards black customers. Zara refutes these claims. (Racked)

  • In the wake of widespread calls for the state of South Carolina to remove the Confederate flag from the State Grounds, a few major retailers like eBay, Sears and Wal-Mart are banning the sale of Confederate flag merchandise. eBay says that “This decision is consistent with our long-standing policy that prohibits items that promote or glorify hatred, violence and racial intolerance.” (CNN)

  1. I love Zara, but I refuse to shop there anymore. They have discriminated against 2 different times both times, I was followed all through the store, when I got the registered the sales lady asked was I sure that’s all I had in the bag, I spent hefty in Zara, not anymore.

  2. @Denise I have experienced the same thing in Zara NYC. When ever I walk in they tell each other on the head sets to watch . They pretend to fold clothes and ask do I need help. I always ignore pretend they are not even there. Most of the time its self hating black folks that are following your every move smdh. If I worked in retail I’m watching all customers because every body steals.
    Next time you go shopping ignore all sales clerks if they ask “do you need help”. The expression on their face is priceless when you ignore them.

  3. No shade but I worked retail for 3 yrs in college
    White teens would get caught in droves shoplifting
    So idk why ppl are so pressed about black people in America
    They should look at themselves
