Celebrity Sightings During Paris Fashion Week: Willow Smith in Acne Studio, Kim Kardashian in Balenciaga, Latto in Rabanne, Serena Williams in Valentino + More

Last Monday, Paris Fashion Week kicked off with some of our most beloved celebrities traveling from the States to Europe to indulge in all the luxury designer collections.

From Willow Smith who stepped out of her shell, and was a fan-favorite at the Acne Studios runway show, to Balenciaga ambassador Kim Kardashian who represented the brand in a lace maxi number, stars didn’t hold back this season.

“Whip My Hair” singer, Willow Smith is a force to be reckoned with and for the Acne Studio show she opted for a Acne Denim jacket that she layered over a knitted turtle neck crop top and paired with distressed jeans. Her biker boots were complimented with studs and had a square toe which felt modern and hip.

One thing for certain is that Kim Kardashian is Balenciaga’s favorite muse. The reality star turned actress is still in her bag, and for the brand’s latest show she wore a black lace high neck dress that hugged her curves and was characterized with a cut out back and long train.

Legendary and retired Tennis player, Serena Williams looked spectacular for someone who just gave birth not too long ago. For the Maison Valentono show, Williams wore a maroon and white printed Valentino dress that had plum feather sleeves for extra pizzazz. Her white pointy-toe stilettos felt cohesive, and when it came down to her beauty and glam, all we can say is “she was snatched!”

Rapper Latto told us to “put a ribbon on her because she’s been acting brand new” and based off some of the fierce looks we captured her in during Paris Fashion Week, she is definitely reinventing herself. Serving a sultry nude look at the Rabanne show, Latto looked sophisticated chic and we adored her black lace up sandals.

The West’s are back in Paris, and challenging the status quo per usual. Opting for all black with his signature face mask, Kanye West held on tightly to his wife Bianca’s hand as they departed from their hotel. Ye wore a black wind breaker sports suit with Air Force One’s, while Bianca wore an oversize black trench coat. According to TMZ, Bianca’s father hasn’t been pleased with her risque attire as of late which is why we may begin to see a more modest approach from Ye’s wife.

Another Fashion Bomb couple on the scene was the iconic Cher who stepped out with her much younger beau, Alexander Edwards to the Balmain show. In case you forgot, Edwards also dated Amber Rose who he shares a child with. Nonetheless, we are so here for this unison. Whatever and whoever makes you happy is key no matter what others think. For the exceptional show presented by Olivier Rousteing, the duo matched in black blazers with classical denim trousers by Balmain.

Stepping away from black, was rapper Saweetie who blossomed in a lime green body-con dress by Alexander McQueen . Her natural fro complimented her facial features, and her long black stiletto nails low-key gave us ‘Edward Scissorhands’ vibes.

Paris Fashion Week: Balmain Fall ’24 Celebrates Olivier Rousteing Hometown Bordeaux with Grapes, Snails, Plaid & More

Balmain’s Creative Director Olivier Rousteing has done it again, creating a fantastical collection that keeps replaying in the back of our minds, as we recall the extraordinary garments and special components to debut during Paris Fashion week.

Since Rousteing was first appointed in 2011, at the shy age of 25, this was the first collection where he paid homage to his hometown Bordeaux, a wine-growing region in France, where is adopted mother Lydia Rousteing raised him. Perhaps his latest collection was also a testament to Rousteing “aging like fine wine” over the years as a designer.

One thing is for certain, there was definitely no shortage of grapes in many of the garments we saw come down the runway.

From red and purple grapes highlighted on monochromatic ensembles, and richly embellished on dresses and tops, to models accessories that included grape earrings and picnic baskets filled with grapes- this collection screamed “grape galore.”

Rousteing shared backstage during PFW that as a child he would accompany his mother on picnics who often wore trench coats, and would lay out a plaid gingham blanket, which influenced his direction this season.

We saw black and white plaid conceptually used throughout the collection including perfectly draped maxi dresses and short off the shoulder flare dresses that had white grape vines hanging from the top.

Rousteing also reinvented the traditional trench coat that his mom wore by adding his avant-garde touch. Many of the trench coats were complimented with oversized lapels, sleeve loops and gold snail buttons at the epaulettes.

Similar to the grape and plaid theme, snails also made a peek-a-boo on gold plated tops, and gold snail earrings and belts that added more depth to Balmain’s FW ’24 collection.

Ahead, see more of Rousteing’s incredible designs that consisted of selected techniques, and undoubtedly reigned supreme during Paris Fashion Week!

Milan Fashion Week: Dolce & Gabbana’s Fall Winter 24/25 Tuxedo Collection Reinvents Formal Wear for the Modern Woman

A black and gold runway set the stage for Dolce & Gabbana’s latest Fall Winter 24/25 collection and this was by far one of the most lavish and opulent shows during Milan Fashion Week.

The Sicilian duo, Domenico Dolce and Stefano Gabbana have come along way since they first debuted at Milan Fashion week in 1985. After quickly gaining popularity among the masses for their sensual dresses and menswear over the years, D&G has become a legendary brand.

What would a legendary brand be without having a legendary model to showcase their collection and attendees were stunned to see the legendary Naomi Campbell close the D&G Milan show.

As models sashayed down the runway with fishnet face masks and tilted hats, we saw a new take on the traditional formal tuxedo. Dolce & Gabbana reinvented the masculine silhouette in such a way that it catered to the women’s physique.

All the components of a traditional tuxedo were there, from suits with oversized lapels layered over white shirts and paired with bow ties, to crisp trousers and silk cummerbunds, perhaps many of D&G looks this season could fall under unisex.

Primarily an all black collection with splashes of gold and silver, D&G also incorporated their iconic leopard print. One model slayed the scene in a fierce leopard trench coat with the matching hat that could easily be mistaken for Cruella Deville, but in the jungle.

Gold polka dots also made a debut on voluminous organza blouses with oversize bows, and sheer dresses that had feather necklines, and sleeves.

Just when we thought feathers couldn’t get any better, the brand presented a black feather trench coat with satin lapels, unlike anything we’ve seen on the runway as of late.

Dolce & Gabbana really surprised us this season with an exquisite collection that felt revolutionary and was expansive and rich in texture. Their Fall Winter 24/25 collection was the epitome of elegance and felt fresh and current for the modern woman of today.

Milan Fashion Week: Genny Reveals their ‘Dreamscape’ Fall Winter 24/25 Collection With Luxurious Fabrics and Romantic Tones

Romantic and idealistic, with femininity exuding through flowing lines and intricate details, Italian luxury brand Genny took us on an enchanting journey during Milan Fashion week.

Originally founded in 1962 by Arnaldo and Donatella Girombelli, Genny has become highly sought after among celebrities like Jennifer Lopez, Zendaya and Christina Aguilera.

Famous Designer Gianni Versace, also once served as the Creative Director of Genny in 1973, along with many other talented designers including Sara Cavazza Facchini, who now oversee’s the brands creative direction.

Inspired by American painter Georgia O’Keeffe, we saw many dreamscape scenarios through the use of color, textures and imaginative silhouettes. From shades of jades and winter whites, to powder pinks and dark maroon, Genny’s latest collection could easily be taken from day to night.

We loved the variation that we saw throughout the RTW line, catering to different style preferences. For the chicest fall attire, Genny showcased the most stunning heather grey cocoon coats that were characterized with wide sleeves and superb craftsmanship.

Not only did we see the progression of color and fabrics like their woven wool which gave a “fur effect,” but we also saw Genny tapping into evening wear for Fall Winter 24/25.

Sequins and satin showed up through trousers and dresses, organza created some of the most sensual tops and velvet was used for bell sleeves, demonstrating Facchini’s ability to design without limits.

Black Fashion History Spotlight: Misa Hylton’s Iconic Career

Every day during Black History month on @FashionBombDaily, we’ve highlighted Black Fashion Pioneers who paved the way, including Ann Lowe (the designer of Jacqueline Kennedy’s Wedding Dress), Elizabeth Keckley (Mary Todd Lincoln’s dressmaker), Zelda Wynn Valdes (the creator of the Playboy Costume), and Patrick Kelly (the first American designer to ever be admitted to the Chambre Syndicale du Pret-a-Porter).

While we honor those long gone, we also acknowledge those living legends who made history in our lifetime. One of our modern day icons is the incomparable Misa Hylton.

Raised in Mount Vernon, New York, by a Japanese and Jamaican mother and an African-American father, Hylton took her passions for fashion and hip hop to eventually create unforgettable, culture shifting looks.

The world stood still when Misa styled Lil’ Kim in a Pastie/Jumpsuit combo at the 1999 MTV VMA’s, and few can ever forget the dynamic color coordinated “Crush on You” music video. From Beyonce’ s custom MCM trench in the ApeSh*t Video to Molly’s MCM boots in Insecure, Misa’s talent has allowed her to stand out over the course of her 30 year career.

She creates looks that are innovative and often emulated by everyone from around the way girls to A-Listers, as witnessed below:

In addition to her talent, Hylton also gives back. In 2012 she opened Misa Hylton Fashion Academy,  a non- profit which offers education for creatives looking to build a successful career in the fashion world.

Hylton’s impact has been felt worldwide over the last three decades. She continues to inspire generations via her work as MCM Global Creative Partner, and her MACYS “Icons of Style” collection.

4 Ways to Style Your Sporty Sunglasses for Everyday Fashion

Sporty sunglasses are used to improve athletic performance, provide eye protection during outdoor activities, and become trendy fashion accessories.

Sporty sunglasses are used to improve athletic performance, provide eye protection during outdoor activities, and become trendy fashion accessories. According to market research from Mordor Intelligence, the sports sunglasses market is projected to grow at a compound annual growth rate of 3.5% over the next five years. Sports products have seen rapid growth and adaptation in recent years due to rising awareness about physical fitness, adventure experiences, and developing skills and abilities.

Today, sporty sunglasses are recognizable for their oversized lens shapes and designs. This is because some sports sunglasses are designed to provide a wide enough field of view for athletes and wearers to see without the sunglasses’ frames obstructing their view. Because of their particular look and design, it can be intimidating for people to wear them as part of their everyday ensemble or on casual nights out. Fortunately, it is definitely possible to use sporty shades to compliment your outfit, even if you aren’t going out fishing or doing any sport outdoors. In this post, we’ll be sharing four fun ways to style your sporty sunglasses for everyday fashion.

Complementary colors

Today’s sporty sunglasses are designed to be as stylish as they are performance-boosting and come in more than the usual muted or dark colors. Oakley’s line of sunglasses are notorious for their otherworldly shapes and designs, matched only by the bold color options offered. Depending on your everyday style, it can help to match the lens and frame colors to complement your outfits.

The Sutro, for example, comes in 14 lens and frame colors, as well as two photochromic or transition lens options. These lens colors range from the brand’s Prizm Black to the loud yellow Prizm 24k. If you’re feeling brave and want to play with more hues, the Prizm Road lens option blends bright yellow, red, and purple. If you don’t want your sporty sunglasses to be too distracting from your ensemble, blending your colors can help give your look more clarity and coherence.

Match Them with denim

You can never go wrong with good old denim if you’re not confident about mixing and matching your colors. This is a great styling option if you don’t mind your sporty shades becoming your outfit’s center of attention. Pairing wacky-colored sports sunglasses with a pair of blue jeans or even a denim jacket to match can give your whole look a splash of color. Alternatively, your denim look would look great with simple black sports shades for a more subdued look.

Another way to style your sporty sunglasses with a denim look is by capitalizing on going full retro. There’s something vintage about wearing denim, and the oversized, 90s to 2000s look of most sports sunglasses today can help put the look together. You can also go the extra mile by accessorizing with a belt or purse that matches your shades’ colors.

Back to the 90s

As briefly mentioned above, one of the potential reasons that sporty sunglasses have become trendy again is due to nostalgia. The oversized lens shapes and bold colors certainly call back to the 90s and 00s raves. If you’re not a fan of denim, you can pair your big oversized shades with equally big and bold silhouettes. Harkening back to the 90s, this means baggy jeans, oversized jackets and hoodies, and large shoulders.

Aside from playing with colors, matching the size of your sporty sunglasses with your clothing can help create a more dynamic and youthful look. The pronounced silhouettes of large, oversized clothing and the harsh angles of a wide lensed sunglasses are sure to turn heads wherever you go. Other aspects of the 90s that go well with the sporty sunglass trend would be faux leather and fur jackets.

Nightly neoncore

Finally, what better way is there to play with the outlandish colors and shapes of sporty sunglasses than to embrace neoncore? While almost frowned upon in the mid-2000s, the garish bright colors comparable to highlighter pens have made a huge comeback in recent years. In fact, celebrities who opt to represent the neon phenomenon tend to go all the way by finding the brightest neon clothing they can.

The sporty sunglasses fit right in with the neoncore trend thanks to their bright colors and bold designs. For people daring enough to wear a head-to-toe neon ensemble, a pair of neon sporty shades is an essential accessory. Otherwise, if you’re color-blocking your neons with solid blacks or grays, choosing sporty shades with colored lenses and black frames can help punctuate your look.

NYFW: Sally LaPointe Designs for the Best Dressed School Girl for her ‘Class of LaPointe 24’ Collection

A yellow school bus with bold lettering that read, “LAPOINTE” pulled up to a loft style building on Broadway in New York, letting off he most stylish models who could easily be classified as “It-girls.”

In fact, the theme for designer Sally LaPointe’s latest Fall ’24 RTW collection was all about going back-to-school, and stealing the spotlight as ‘best dressed’. A mission which could definitely be accomplished based on the fashion-forward looks we saw go down the runway.

LaPointe stayed true her DNA, and we saw rich monochromatic palettes and feather detailing on dresses, sleeves and luxe boleros. We also saw the incorporation of different textural fabrics that felt transitional from day to night.

While some people may correlate a back-to-school wardrobe with a uniform or a dress code, LaPointe’s University promoted autonomy. The collection was also a stark reminder that in order to be remembered, one must stand out.

Along with classical colors like black and white, LaPointe introduced vibrant hues for Fall ’24 including neon green, baby blue and peach that commanded attention.

Not only was the clothing sensational, but the accessories were also on theme including studded and spiked backpacks that were from a collaboration with a New York jewelry store called Chrishabana.

Ahead, see more of LaPointe’s back-to-school inspired looks below and let us know your thoughts!
