The Bomb Fashion Show Spotlight: Envysaje Atelier is Blazing a New Trail in the Fashion Industry

Coryn Monét is the queen of her domain and she’s redefining luxury with her multi-brand, Envysaje Atelier. The Houston, Texas native showed her chops at the Bomb Fashion show after just returning from living in France.

“I just moved back to the States from the South of France where I lived for the last 7-months with my boyfriend to take a breather, and get inspiration for my rebrand,” shared Monét.

Her rebrand comes almost a decade after graduating from college and teaching herself how to sew by looking at YouTube tutorials and online resources.

As a self-taught designer, Monét encountered many challenges, and obstacles–but she never allowed that to deter her. With an eagerness to learn, she sourced quality fabrics and learned how to design through trial and error. She took everything that came her way as an opportunity to learn and grow.

As she started to share her brand on social media, and her followers realized that she could sew, she began to get traction and maximum exposure. “My followers would ask if I could make them a jacket or a dress,” explained Monét. “ It went from swimwear, to jackets and prom gowns to wedding gowns.”

Although she started with custom designing, she has since expanded to Ready-To-Wear, cosmetics and menswear, ultimately diversifying the ‘Envysaje’ brand. “My brand is also an all inclusive brand because I know how important it is for plus -size to find really nice fashion in the stores,” said Monét.

After the inspiration she gained from living in Europe, she’s stepped away from color and prints, opting for more neutrals which we saw throughout her collection during New York Fashion Week.

“Although I’ve done LA and London fashion weeks, this is my first time doing New York Fashion week, and especially for my favorite fashion blog,” exclaimed Monét. “ It’s pretty big for me and I really appreciate the opportunity as I know how big Fashion Bomb Daily is.”

Coryn Monét started from the bottom, and now she’s here and making her dreams a reality. She’s creating her own opportunities with resources at her fingertips, and she had attendees standing on their toes with her cutting edge designs.

Designer Beeombi Debuted His Avant-Garde Collection at The Bomb Fashion Show

If anyone’s turning it up a notch in the fashion industry, it’s Derron Cherry with his avant-garde brand entitled ‘Beeombi.’ The St. Louis native has accelerated to the top of his game with his cutting edge designs that have graced celebrities including Teyana Taylor, Nia Long, Oprah, and Porsha Williams.

Cherry, whose designs are quite a sight to behold, came from a lineage of seamstresses as his mother, grandmother and great-grandmother all knew how to sew. He recalls using a sewing machine at the shy age of 5, and going to work with his mom where he would watch her sew. “By the time I got to middle school, I was repurposing garments, and by high school, I was making full on gowns,” explained Cherry, who goes by his nickname ‘Beeōmbi.’

The name of his brand originated from his family giving him the nickname, ‘Beeōmbi’ due to his inability to say ‘bologna’ when he was three years old. “I would ask for ‘Beeōmbi’ instead of ‘bologna,’ and that was the nickname they gave me,” said Cherry. “When I got to the 7th grade, I can remember wanting to make clothes and give that name life.”

Beeōmbi has definitely created a name for himself, especially in the film and TV sphere where he is a true powerhouse. After attending the Chicago International Academy of Design and Technology for three years, he returned to St. Louis, and received an opportunity to become a tailor on the set of ‘Selma’ alongside Ruth E. Carter, and Ava Duvernay.

That opportunity shifted Beeōmbi’s career to Costume Design for film & TV, and he has been working with film extraordinaire Tyler Perry for the past decade. “I have made many of Tyler Perry’s ‘Madea’ dresses and hats, and designed for many of his productions such as ‘Sistahs’ and ‘Perimeter.’ on the BET network.”

In addition to serving as a catalyst behind the scenes for a variety of films, Beeōmbi is also focused on the expansion of his clothing line which was showcased in Neiman Marcus earlier this year. Comparable to Balmain and Alexander McQueen, Beeōmbi has excellent attention to details. Despite womenswear having many soft and feminine elements, Beeōmbi enjoys adding an androgynous touch to his garments.

During the Bomb Fashion Show, he will debut his latest collection called “Welcome to the Jungle” that was inspired by his trip to Africa. “ I’m going to give you an array of things including designs made from leather, silk and wool. I have some really bomb leather pieces in my RTW collection, and I will also have evening and haute couture pieces.”

He shared his excitement about being in New York Fashion Week with Fashion Bomb Daily.
“It’s so amazing to be a part of the Bomb Fashion show as I have followed Fashion Bomb Daily for years, and it’s the go-to for everything and everyone,” expressed Beeōmbi. “I think you guys do great journalism, and I have followed Claire for so long and watched her grow as a brand, and person. She’s the bomb, and her team is the bomb, so I’m excited to participate in it.”

Beeōmbi is looking forward to what is in store for his namesake brand. Along with working on different TV sets, and building his RTW collection, keep an eye peeled for a storefront coming to a city near you.

Fashion Bomb at NYFW : Prabal Gurung Spring 2025 Takes Glamour to the Next Level

As an orchestra played in the background of designer Prabal Gurung New York Fashion Week show, models sashayed down the runway in loosely draped chiffon and silk garments.

The Nepalese–American fashion designer took a major political stance during the bow of his fantastical ‘Holi Hope’ show at 1 Centre St. in New York City.

Wearing a shirt that read VOTE, in many of the colors we saw throughout his stunning Spring 2025 collection, Gurung embodied hope for a brighter future.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter the designer explained,

“Holi is about a sense of abandonment and optimism; there are no enemies, we just have fun,” adding that Harris’ entry as the Democratic presidential candidate suddenly put those notions on steroids, causing a bit of a last-minute pivot toward unabashed optimism in his designs.”

We definitely saw optimism throughout his line with soft and illuminating hues that took us from daytime chic to evening elegance.

Refreshing and inviting, Gurung paired an ocean blue blazer with a multicolor embellished dress, and white silk scarf that effortlessly blew in the wind. In a similar shade of blue, we saw asymmetrical shorts paired back with a colorful pastel top and blazer set.

Along with his exceptional use of color, Gurung capitalized off texture in innovative ways. He showcased tops with dyed mohair in the form of flowers that were impressive and eye-catching.

Including diversity on the runway (which Bethann Hardison fought so hard for), we saw many models of color included in Gurung’s show.

The fact that he’s advocating for inclusivity in the fashion industry, makes his collection even more enticing and appealing.

In addition to bold textures and head-turning prints, the New York based designer also showed his chops with evening wear. His red bandage halter top dress characterized with pink silk ruffles was unlike anything we’ve seen as of late.

His incorporation of gold metallic in his longer gowns also made a victorious statement. Prabal’s collection represented peace and tranquility, with a call for action to think bigger , dig deeper and make a positive change.

Gurung is serving as a catalyst for a more inclusive future, and he’s using his platform to express his creativity and empower others to vote which is quite notable.

Fashion Bomb at NYFW : Jason Wu Collaborates with Calligrapher Tong Yang-Tze for his Spring 2025 Collection

Designer Jason Wu has done it again, creating beautiful masterpieces in the form of clothes. During New York Fashion Week, Wu collaborated with 82-year old Taiwanese calligrapher Tong Yang-Tze for his Spring 2025 collection.

With a black structural backdrop painting the Hudson Yards garden, models strutted down the pavement in beautiful abstract garments that were textural and ahead of the curve.

Reflecting the times we are living in today, we saw unfinished hems, and deconstructed silhouettes, nodding to the ability to let go, pivot, and find new directions.

Yang-Tze, who is known for her large-scale calligraphic pieces done in black cursive script, was the inspiration behind Wu’s collection, as evident against his neutral canvases.

With free-form writing on the clothes, complimented with sheer, and pleats, we saw the Taiwanese designer rebel in the best way.

As someone who believes that the devil is in the details, and that there’s beauty in simplicity, we also saw clean lines and soft pastels throughout Wu’s line paired back with flatform sandals.

The color brown which will prove to be a staple shade this fall season, will also take us into Spring 2025. His line featured oversized textural suits, and avant-garde maxi dresses that were appeasing to the eye.

In addition to the lighter hues, we saw black trench coats with white writing that added a juxtaposition to his Spring debut. This season, Wu didn’t stay in one particular box, instead venturing away from traditional techniques, and progressing with the times.

The New York based artist has created quite a name for himself over the years, showing his line to be sustainable in an ever-changing market. His illustrated touch and valiant approach is remarkable and a testament of his talent and ingenuity.
