The Newark, New Jersey native recently created and curated an exhibit celebrating the beauty and diversity of black hair called “Don’t Touch my Hair.”
To celebrate the launch, she welcomed beauty and fashion icons Mikki Taylor and Misa Hylton, along with yours truly to discuss the importance of representation and freedom of expression when it comes to African American tresses.
For the occasion, Ayana wore a Laquan Smith skirt and Dolce & Gabbana boots.
Essence Magazine Editor at Large Mikki Taylor was a vision in a dress by Newark Native, Marco Hall.
Misa Hylton rocked a look from her collection with Macy’s along with Bottega Veneta orange heels.
Bombshells came to slay in style! Check out a few looks below:
Hairstylist Nikki was radiant in a yellow ensemble. Bombshell @PerfeklyMPerfek looked bomb in Cartier shades and a look of her design.
I loved being in a room of fabulous, like minded women. It definitely inspired me to start thinking of re-igniting our Convos with Claire series next year!
Displaying cleavage in a form fitting dress that enhanced her curvaceous body, Cardi B celebrated her birthday in Los Angeles on Friday, and shared photos on Instagram of her special day.
Kulture (6), Wave (3) and her newest addition, a baby girl who she welcomed on Sep 7th, posed alongside their mother who they gifted flowers and balloons to for her 32nd birthday.
In addition to her children, singer Lizzo also sent Cardi B a beautiful bouquet of flowers which the rapper shared to her Instagram stories.
Smitten and elated by all the love, Cardi looked mesmerized in her pink custom Jagne dress, styled by Kollin Carter. With a stretchy ponte construction, her dress featured a side cut out with lace-up detailing.
Jagne is a Los Angeles brand created by a designer named Baba Jagne. Originally from Gambia, West Africa, Baba comes from a family of tailors and designers.
He created his own namesake label with the experience he gained working at his family atelier. Modern, thought-provoking, and edgy, Jagne offers a variety of deconstructed styles that are very futuristic.
Cardi B couldn’t take her hands off her new bundle of joy who she welcomed last month. Matching her mother with pink knitted overalls and a Louis Vuitton hat, she’s already making a fashion statement.
Wave also looked ecstatic as he held up the deuces sign and cheesed for the camera.
After taking Paris Fashion Week by storm, it was great to see Cardi B relax and spend quality time with her family and friends for her 32nd birthday.
Rihanna was captured at the Nordstrom in Los Angeles celebrating the launch of her Savage X Fenty line now available at the department store.
From being an award-winning artist and fashion icon, to her Fenty beauty, hair and fashion line, and being the face of Dior’s J’adore perfume, Rihanna is NEXT LEVEL!
On Thursday, she arrived to Nordstrom Century City donning a $139 Savage x Fenty and Diesel corset lace slip, layered with a multicolor Fendi mongolian fur coat. She accessorized with $50 Savage X Fenty and Diesel lace tights that looked so high fashion.
Known for her stellar shoe candy, her $1,750 YSL Liz Satin rhinestone embellished mules were the moment.
Serving a natural beat with a chocolate lip, and wet & wavy hair, Rihanna came to represent. If anyone knows how to blur the lines between lingerie and outerwear, it certainly RiRi with her trendsetting ability.
Lingerie has become fashion over the years, and we see it more prevalent on the runway these days. Whether you’re looking to partake in the lingerie-dressing trend, or perhaps you’re in search of sexy undergarments, the Fenty X Savage collection at Nordstrom has everything you need for perfect rendezvous.
The ‘On My Mama’ singer has had quite a successful year in the music industry, and she made it to the publications 2024 list.
Recognized for her extraordinary talent and contributions to the industry at large, Monét looked absolutely brilliant at the star-studded gala. With style and grace, the Atlanta native turned heads in a vintage Roberto Cavalli gown, styled by Kollin Carter. The dress was sickening against her caramel complexion and was characterized with a cutout that showed her backside.
The halter style dress was held together with a red embellished neckpiece that glistened next to her diamond earrings. The draping of her gown, long train and high slit gave us the perfect amount of drama.
It’s great to see so many celebrities rocking vintage garments from designers archive collections. Perhaps Kollin Carter and Law Roach are among the best stylists to transform their clients in some of the hottest vintage looks.
Monét’s hair and make-up added a nice juxtaposition to her perfectly aged dress. Contemporary and unlike anything we seen before, her hair consisted of a side bang that felt avant-garde and progressive.
The Grammy award-winning R&B singer is ahead of her time and bound to do major things in the music industry. We can’t wait to see her develop and evolve into the next global superstar.
“You ask, we answer!” @portiachivs says “Hi Fashion Bomb, Can you please find the deets on this outfit? ❤️🤗
We sure can! ‘No Doubt’ pop singer Gwen Stefani is always reinventing herself, and earlier this month she stopped by the Jennifer Hudson show to talk about the latest season of NBC’s The Voice.
Stefani, who is a coach on the hit series that’s on their 26th season, was all smiles while discussing what it’s like to be on set working alongside such talented individuals.
“We get on that set and it’s just everyone there wants to be there and the contestants have these big dreams and they’re so talented,” said Stefani. “To watch them grow right before your eyes and have a little tiny part of that by trying to help them; it’s just a fun show. I love it so much.”
For her special appearance, Gwen served modern realness in a pink and black Pucci jacket and skirt set from the brands Fall 2024 Ready-To-Wear collection.
She layered her structured jacket over a black crop top that was finished with a pink frayed hem. Sticking to her punk rock roots, Stefani accessorized with black fishnet stockings that added a nice contrast to her Pucci ensemble.
EGOT winner Jennifer Hudson has also proven that she can do it all with her amazing vocals and syndicated daytime talk show based in Los Angeles. She opted for a long sleeve black studded body con dress that looked complimentary next Stefani’s outfit.
After all these years, Stefani still has a wonderful aura and presence about herself. In addition to her amazing sense of style, her confidence keeps her in the spotlight.

If you’ve been keenly following fashion and eyewear trends all year, this news won’t come as a surprise – fashion experts are saying goodbye to ’90s-inspired, slim sunglasses. Brought back to the fore by trendsetters like Selena Gomez and Kendall Jenner, barely-there sunnies were all the rage from 2020 to 2023. Now, there’s a new style taking its place: statement-making eyewear pieces.
From rimless sunglasses that were popular in the noughties to avant-garde shapes and jewel-encrusted eyewear, bold silhouettes are back and bigger than ever.
So, if you want to update your current sunglass collection and get tips on elevating your daily ‘fits, here’s a rundown of the best designer styles that are sure to turn heads:
Double-bridged aviators
As demonstrated by Steve Harvey in our previous post on redefining men’s fashion, sunglasses are the perfect finishing touch for bolder wardrobe choices. To balance out his outfit comprised of a brightly-colored dress shirt and navy blue pants, Harvey wore double-bridged aviators similar to the Ray-Ban RB3663 frames. The sleek black shades provided the right amount of polish to contrast his playful style, proving that older gentlemen can still make a fashion statement with their looks. To put your own twist on this trend, consider sunglasses like the Gucci GG0062S, which feature a thicker rim and gold detailing that will pair well with even the most basic outfits.
Rimless sunglasses
Popularized in the early 2000s by stars like Mariah Carey, rimless sunglasses are back in full force. This clean style offers a futuristic twist on classic eyewear, pulling focus on the lenses themselves. Designer sunglasses brand Versace is a go-to for embracing this silhouette, boasting sleek rimless styles in their eyewear collections. On OPSM, you can find an array of rimless shades such as the Versace VE2054, which are akin to a pair worn by Kourtney Kardashian. Whether you opt for a subtle tint or bold mirrored lenses, rimless sunnies add a touch of understated elegance to any look.
Embellished frames
For those who love a bit of glamour, jewel-encrusted sunglasses are the ultimate statement-making accessory. Adorned with crystals, pearls, or intricate metalwork, this style screams luxury. Channel your inner popstar diva à la Madonna, who made waves after wearing bedazzled oversized frames from Dolce & Gabbana while out in Milan. When incorporating bejeweled frames like the Gucci GG0811S in your looks, keep the rest of your outfit simple, just as Madge did. A little black dress or a monochromatic jumpsuit will complement the sparkle of the frames without overwhelming the ensemble. Finish it off with a glossy nude lip and slicked-back updo for maximum impact.
Geometric sunglasses
Among the hottest trends in sunglasses for 2024 is the resurgence of geometric frames. Instead of going for tried-and-true round or square shapes, fashion-forward individuals are reaching for shades with quirky, angular designs. If this is up your alley, consider hexagonal or even asymmetrical frames that command attention with their unique silhouette. For inspiration, look no further than Puerto Rican rapper and singer Bad Bunny, who graced the 2024 Met Gala red carpet donning diamond-shaped sunglasses to round off an edgy all-black ensemble. For a designer pair you can wear daily, check out the hexagonal Prada PR 56YS.
From classic aviators to rimless sunnies and frames with bejeweled embellishments, this is your sign to experiment with different sunglasses styles and add a touch of flair to your wardrobe this season.
According to Vogue, “The exhibit will explore the indelible style of Black men in the context of dandyism, from the 18th-century through present day.” The 2025 #MetGala chairs are all #blackmen : Colman Domingo, Lewis Hamilton, ASAP Rocky, Pharrell Williams, and Anna Wintour will co-chair the 2025 Gala, alongside honorary chair LeBron James.
At a press conference about the exhibit, Pharrell said, “We are the survivors of what is perhaps the most intense hardships, trials, and tribulations to ever bedevil a group of human beings. Not only did we survive, we carried music, culture, the beauty and the universal language across an ocean and a quadruple century. That’s what this year’s Met Gala will celebrate. Us. We are a museum.”

Hopefully the exhibit will also celebrate one of the most iconic black dandies of the 21st century: Andre Leon Talley.
We also hope that Dapper Dan will be given his flowers for his contributions to the culture and black Dandyism.
And if the exhibit does not, guests undoubtedly will.
At face value, this is exciting!
We know that black style is electric, though often overlooked and imitated in the fashion industry. We can only hope that next year’s gala will be a true celebration of black style and black designers–a change we’ve been calling for for years. And you know Fashion Bomb Daily has to be in the building.

What do you think? Who had your favorite look of the night?
Could Yung Miami be the next TV host to take over primetime television? Perhaps in the future, but as of now, she’s definitely a force to be reckoned with in the digital world.
With her relatable personality and ultra stylish wardrobe, she quite a sight to see. While shooting one of her latest episodes of ‘Caresha Please,‘ the Miami rapper stunned in a turquoise Alaia minidress.
Designed by Pieter Mulier for Alaia’s Spring 2024 collection, her dress was innovative with chiffon fabric that draped across her neck, and connected to the bottom of her dress. The fringe detailing layered over the chiffon fabric felt progressive.
The former City Girls member accessorized with silver bangles and statement rings. Her white heels were the perfect hue to balance out her colorful dress.
Amassing over 10K likes on Fashion Bomb daily’s instagram page, fans couldn’t get enough of how bomb she looked.
@iamjeremey wrote, “LISTEN: whoever is styling her for Caresha Please! IN THE POCKET!!! KEEP IT GOING! Babygirl looks the f*** good!!” Another reader @shaadlewis_ expressed, “People really underestimate the power of a great stylist. Life changing.”
In addition to her mesmerizing ensemble, her glam was also on fleek. Her face was perfectly contoured, and her feathery eyelashes and lined pink lipstick enhanced Yung Miami’s natural beauty.
