Hey Guys!
So on Saturday, I was blessed to attend Rush Philanthropic’s Art for Life Gala in the Hamptons as a guest of Kim Hatchett and Morgan Stanley!
The event, which celebrated its 20th year, raises funds to provide art education opportunities for youth in New York City and beyond. Lots of fabulous people were in attendance, including Russell Simmons, Danny Simmons, Jojo Simmons, Angela Simmons, Ming Lee Simmons, Aoki Lee Simmons, Russy Simmons, Flaviana Matata, Sherry and Vanessa Bronfman, Ross Lukatsevich, Bevy Smith, DJ Kiss, DJ Mos, Kim Hatchett, Kevin and Erika Liles, Cynthia Bailey, Chef Roblé, Beverly Camhe, Michelle Gadsen-Williams, and more!
The magical, star studded night, MC’ed by Soledad O’Brien, recognized Dave Chappelle, Michaela and Simon de Pury, Ava DuVernay and Artist Wangechi Mutu for their career achievements and philanthropic work, and included powerful performances by Elle Varner and Bell Biv Devoe.
The soirée had a Roaring Twenties theme, and of course everyone showed up and showed out in flapper dresses, sequined numbers, feathered boas, pearls, and headpieces.
Take a look at a few stand outs:
Publicist Umindi Francis and her date were gorgeous in pink tones and feathered details.
DJ Kiss and DJ Mos always look great! DJ Kiss shined in a silver Parker dress.
Stylist and Fashion Bomb friend Kanayo Ebi sparkled in a black and gold beaded Ese Azenabor dress and a feathered headband.
The Simmons women are a beautiful bunch, no? Angela and Ming Lee sidled up to sequins, while Aoki Lee looked elegant in a long dress. They grow up so fast!
This young lady took the theme to the limit in a fringed cocktail dress, pearl headpiece, and metallic heels.
A plaid detailed vest was certainly a conversation piece for this dapper gentleman.
This bomb blogger looked hot in a multicolored sequined dress.
Vanessa Bronfman was fierce defined in an Aidon Mattox beaded and fringed number.
These handsome men opted for printed suits and oxford shoes.
Erika Liles looked lovely in a Stella Jean Sordone printed maxi dress.
And as for me, I dug into my archives and slipped on this All Saints Dress (you might remember, I wore it the first time I appeared on TV for BET’s Rip the Runway! Blast from the Past.).
I kept my accessories subdued with Stuart Weitzman Nudist Sandals.
It was an amazing event chock full of outstanding people!
And the Bell Biv Devoe performance was EVERYTHING!!!
I even caught a little video:
