Fashion Week Day 1: The Fashion Bomb Meets Rachel Roy, Hangs with Bryan Boy, and Celebrates Naomi’s 25 years with Bethann and Friends

Wow, what a way to kick off Fashion Week!
Yesterday was chock full of fashion, fun, and celebrities:

Check out a few snapshots:

As I was stepping out of Christian Siriano’s Spring 2011 show (review to come), I ran into the beautiful Rachel Roy, who was in the tent meeting and greeting fashionable folk.  Rachel apologized for the early start of her Spring 2011 presentation on September 14th (it kicks off at 9:30 am), but I wouldn’t miss RR for the world!

After a quick lunch, I quick stepped over to the Hudson Hotel to meet up with friends who threw me an impromptu “Welcome Back to the States” party! I was surprised my sweet friends organized a shindig for little old me, but was even more bowled over when I looked up and realized the table in front of me was chock full of ‘celebrity’ fashion bloggers like Bryan Boy (www.bryanboy.com), Rumi Neely (www.fashiontoast.com), and Amy Odell from New York Magazine’s the Cut (www.nymag.com/daily/fashion). I went over and said heyyyy:

Turns out they were cooling their heels after a fashion bloggers conference called Evolving Influence (which I wanted to go to, but couldn’t find time with my schedule). I hope to go next year and maybe even sit on a panel.

Hot!

The icing on my fashion cake was celebrating Naomi Campbell’s 25 years in the business at Le Bain with the inimitable Bethann Hardison, Tyson Beckford, David Agbodji, Ajak Deng, BJ Coleman, Andre Leon Talley, Russell Simmons, Sessilee Lopez, Naomi Campbell herself…I mean the list went on and on in terms of famous faces. I was almost speechless. Check out a few Blackberry Pictures:
Yours truly and fierceness herself.
Ajak Denk who is *so* beautiful. She remembered me from when I took her picture during Haute Couture in Paris.
Bethann Hardison cutting a rug.
My homegirl Maya Lake, designer for Boxing Kitten.
Sessilee Lopez and designer LaQuan Smith.
Rachel Bilson.

Tyson Beckford and friends.

It was definitely a star studded affair.

I had the most fun chatting with David Agbodji

… who wanted everyone to know that he’s NOT Nigerian, but in fact Togolese, and spent his youth between France and Moscow. We had a good old time speaking French. His francais is impeccable and ADORABLE! It’s official, I have a new crush!

Anyway, I’m off to pop into a few shows today. Be sure to follow me on Twitter (@thefashionbomb) for the blow by blow!
Smootches!
