” My style isn’t very easy to put into words! There are a few quotes about fashion and style that mirror my mentality.”

1 v dami from maryland
“”Fashions fade, style is eternal.” – Yves Saint Laurent”

2 dami from maryland
“”Style is a way to say who you are without having to speak.” – Rachel Zoe”

3 dami from maryland
“”Fashion is what you buy. Style is what you do with it.””

4 dami from maryland
“I was born in Nigeria and came to the US as a little girl; therefore, from the very beginning I’ve always looked and been different from the people around me.”

5 dami from maryland
” We didn’t have a lot, so buying what every other child had was out of the question.”
dami from maryland
“… This is how I learned to observe the fads of fashion, catch, and even begin to predict staple items.”

6 dami from maryland
” I found my voice in style very early and wasn’t afraid of continuing to be different.”

7 dami from maryland
” I’m not even sure if I can remember a time I’ve wanted to fit in!”

8 dami from maryland
” So my style is me, it’s vintage, playful, unpredictable, it’s “hey, where did you get that?”, it’s “only you could pull that off”, unable to be replicated and definitely not one to blend into the crowd.”

9 dami from maryland
“I began blogging and constantly taking photos of my outfits since around 2006-’07 in the early days of WordPress and Blogger with my best friend Sade.”

10 dami from maryland
” Now we run our own blog together, Soul of a Lion or SOAL for short where we document our love for food, traveling, fashion, school, and being ourselves. ”

  1. Factory Made says:

Shes giving me 90′s, “A Different World” vibe.

  2. Zsazsaberry says:

I could not focus on anything other than the water bottles and pack of capri sun in the plastic bin. I’m sorry. I wish you sent in pics that werent so close up also. :-/

  3. 2 Cents says:

I wonder did she take most of these pictures on the same day?

  4. LaRose says:

You don’t want to look like you stepped into a time machine when your fashion is inspired by a certain decade. You need to blend the new with the old. It needs to be more polished and not all over the place, because in some pics you looked scattered and disorganized.

  5. Brittany says:

Sigh…I really like that plaid coat as an individual piece, but that’s really it. From the hair and makeup to accessories, shoes, and clothes, nothing works. It’s messy, but not in a chic way. Maybe she should try mixing and matching her thrifted pieces with newer clothing to refine her look a bit.

  6. tahlyuh says:

She’s young, telling from the overflowing dorm room recycling bin, so hopefully, her fashions will evolve.

Because 90s fashion is all the rage right now, it’s hard to tell if she’s really into the 90s or if she’s really into the trend of the 90s. Hmmm….

I agree with the above comments. It can’t be 1994 in every outfit.

Other note…these holographic visors need to stop.

  7. Fery says:

That red plastic basket stole the show for me!

  8. mi manning says:

she has room to grow…I see potential. if her makeup was on point, it wouldn’t be that bad.

  9. Choco aka Hippie says:

    Not bad!

  10. missy says:

THAT PLAID CAPE DID IT FOR ME, EVERYTHING WAS TOO OVER THE PLACE. FIND WHO YOU ARE AND WHAT WORKS FOR YOU, MAKE YOUR LOOKS MORE POLISHED AND COHESIVE… GOOD LUCK IN SCHOOL

  11. Trina says:

lol, yup I can see a different world vibe. Loved that show, that’s all I got.

  12. Anon says:

FBD is always on a roll, but then give us like 5 duds.

  13. Moneboo says:

Not really my taste. But damnit if I couldn’t get past her recycle bin. I’m sorry, but them same doggone water bottles and Capri sun boxes kinda stole the attention of the pic

  14. Bhonei says:

A lot of these looks would be saved by toning down the hair and a sleek heel.

  15. eve says:

Them eyebrows and horrible lipstick is really hurying my feelings :-(

  16. Jessy says:

LMAOOO I recognize those dorms from anywhere–my alma mater! :)

I like the last outfit the most…

  17. Kat says:

“I was born in Nigeria and came to the US as a little girl; therefore, from the very beginning I’ve always looked and been different from the people around me.”

Lmao!! That describes like half of the Black people in Maryland! Unless she maybe lives in Colorado and came to the DMV for college, and even then!

Cute girl with room to grow.

  18. J says:

She looks like she’s stuck in the 90′s….I mean every photo looks like she’s dressed in a costume. I can’t believe she goes out like this. She really needs to learn to incorporate the old with the new. While 90s fashion is in right now there is a fine line from channeling a trend and looking like you need to be on Jenny Jones talk show for a makeover. I think girls these days try way to hard when it comes to fashion and everything just ends up looking forced and costume like. Style shoukd never look overthought….it’s effortless. Kudos for fashion bravery and that’s it. Sorry : / we’ve all been fashion victims before so don’t fret.

  19. Anonymous says:

She looks like a walking goodwill store…..and I love vintage and thrifting but this is way too much. She needs balance.

  20. Misha says:

All I have to say is y’all really need to chill with these eyebrows and the bright lipsticks…..leave it to the mua’s and people who know how to do make up. Her eyebrows are all I could focus on especially on her IG. Makeup can destroy an entire outfit please take note!

  21. Jackie says:

I’m sorry, no shade to Howard University but she definitely has the same “different” style that a lot of kids on that campus have. I don’t really see anything original, I think like 3-5 years after college once she discovers refinement that she will really find her own personal style.

  22. fly won says:

    she’s young.
    have your fun girl

  23. Nisa.G says:

no thank you. Next one please.

  24. Nahlia says:

Downgrade from the last Female Bombshell.

  25. EC says:

    Claire,

We should add another voter option of Fashion bombshell in the making for those submissions that are still finding their way. I liked some of the outfits and many could have used some tweaks. The beauty (hair and makeup) wasn’t my style at all, but I do see potential in the clothes. I would love to see her submission in another year or two. I love that she has the courage to do her when so many in the world are just doing the next fad.

  26. tee says:

I’m so ashamed to be from Maryland right now.
She’s not originally from the DMV right? This right here…man.

I couldn’t get pass the hair. Looks like kanekalon Braiding hair U Part wig.

  27. crazyworld says:

Her decription caught my attention, kept reading it!
