Ola! On Day 5 of NYFW, it was all about presentations for me, including stops by Laquan Smith’s Fall 2013 collection and Alice + Olivia’s showing downtown. I decided to calm it on the prints for the day and just wear classic black and white, adding interest with a fringed Thakoon dress and a contrast collar Rag & Bone blazer (can you tell how much I love R&B?)
The outfit was pretty understated, so I slipped on a pair of statement shoes (these DSquared Raso Boots to be exact).
In between shows, I stopped at Cookshop, a fun little restaurant on the West Side, conveniently located close to a lot of off site venues.
Then I was off (expect to see this Theory Cassius coat a lot. It’s warm and sorta goes with everything!)
Simple, classic. What do you think of this look?

I’m heavily heavily (I cannot emphasize enough) anti-fur, but besides that you look drop dead gorgeous Claire. I am looking your risque and shape-flattering choices. The dress accentuates your amazing body perfectly and those shoes are killer. I need that white blazer and the goth makeup is SNATCHED!!!!! A+

I know it may be politically in correct to say, but I really like that fur coat. I think you rock it best. Is it the same one we’ve seen a coupla celebs wearing? In any event it’s the best rocked fur I’ve seen this season. I really like the simple sleekness of the outfit contrasted with the coats’ fluffy colorfulness.

Hey Hey! Thanks y’all. @Hypnotic, yes, I’m wearing nude hose, (I’m wearing them in every picture where I have a skirt on). I love Berkshire brand in Tan de Sol. They’re about $8 a pop at Macy’s. Get the Ultra Sheer kind. The quality is pretty good!
I’ve been playing with the idea of having some sort of tag sale for my clothes (maybe… I get attached!). Anyway, stay tuned. I’m a size 41, but had to get a 40 in those (DSquared only goes up to a 40, but they run big).

But yeah, I don’t get free clothes, and I didn’t Rent the Runway (when I do, I always mention it). With this outfit, I got the Thakoon dress at a sample sale, the blazer on sale at Intermix, the shoes on sale at Zappos, the fur, on sale at Saks. My Stella McCartney bag was an investment, and as you can see I’ve worn it several times. I disclosed how I find deals in this post if you care to revisit:
