Curated and creatively directed by Solange for Saint Heron, she shifted the atmosphere by “honoring black women artists and composers who channel faith through unique and prodigious expressions.”
For the spiritually rich evening that consisted of performances by Twinkie Clark And The Clark Sisters, Saxophonist Angela Christie, Organist Dominique Johnson, Solange stunned in a brown $4,600 Loewe draped dress.
Made from a viscose and cashmere blend, Solo’s Loewe dress featured looped panels attached to the front pockets and back collars, along with a scoop back. Solange’s look was similar to a Kwame Adusei dress previously worn by Chloe Bailey during the Amazon Prime ‘Candy Cane Lane’ movie premiere in 2023. Perhaps the Spanish luxury fashion was inspired by the Ghanaian designer who designs have become modernly distinct.

Although “Tyler the Creator” has been rocking white socks with loafers for quite some time, the trend has become very prevalent in both men’s and women’s fashion. After being tapped by the legendary Anna Wintour to serve as a Co-chair at the MET Gala in May, this month in honor of Pride, Coleman Domingo was honored at the Native Son Awards, alongside Paul Tazewell, and Sean Bankhead. “Culture’s Biggest Night” did not disappoint and the 25th annual BET Awardsfar exceeded our expectations. From the extraordinary fashion on the red carpet, to the vibrancy that came through on stage, and the inspiring speeches that followed, there were several moments that pushed the culture forward.
Kevin Hart hosted the extravaganza with his theatrics in full swing, while Jamie Foxx, Mariah Carey, Snoop Dogg and Kirk Franklin were each recognized with the Ultimate Icon award.“The Icon Award is the most important award because it comes from us,” shared Foxx.
In a society that doesn’t always amplify black voices, the BET awards championed people of color last night on a broader scale. Our Fashion Bomb daily CEOClaire Sulmers, who know’s a thing or two about creating events “for US, by US,” was on the scene interviewing celebs on the carpet.
For the special evening, she sought out Celebrity stylist, Swanky Jerrywho she collaborated with during the MET Gala, to make a sartorial entrance. Showcasing architectural realness, Sulmers embodied regality in a nudeEmaginegown by BuKola that was progressive with dramatic swirls.
In addition to Claire, Swanky Jerry and the queen of the dancehall @spiceofficial also opted for Emagine looks. The duo mirrored African royalty in cobalt blue ensembles by BuKola that could have easily fit the bill for the costumes in the latest Coming to America. They say repetition is reputation, and Swanky Jerry is undoubtedly leaving his mark in the States.
When Ciara touched on the carpet, all eyes were on the “Ecstasy” singer who arrived in an all black Cong Tri look that was vastly different than a traditional couture gown. From her A fitted cap, to her leather button up top, and high low fringe skirt, her outfit definitely has StylistMarni Senofonte finger prints all over it.
Tisha Campbell is a prime example of “it get’s better later,” and she delivered wow-factor at the BET awards in a rich maroon leather dress by Anthony Lattimore. Stylist J.Bolin is to thanks for this cutting edge ensemble, and her hair matching with her dress was exquisite.
Representing for the Fashion Bomb men was Mario, who was the perfect eye candy in a green double breasted satin wrap top by House of Gray that he paired with black printed trousers. He accessorized with a diamond necklace, and embellished pendents, and his black patent leather loafers added sophistication to such a dapper look.

Today is the 25th Anniversary of the “BET Awards“ , and “Culture’s Biggest Night” is bound to be star-studded with the who’s WHO of Hollywood.
The annual event which honors people of color in music, film and television, will be hosted by Kevin Hart, and include performances by Teyana Taylor, Glorilla, and Lil Wayne.
Over the weekend, The BET Experience 2025 presented by Shea Moisturekicked off with a variety of activations including industry talks, an open casting call, and our very own Fashion Bomb daily red carpet. (Yes, we’re partaking in the TikTok treadmill runway trend!)
From Real Housewives of Atlanta OG and newbie, NeNe and Kelli Ferrell, to R&B legends Mya and Amerie, check out who ripped the runway best below.
They often say to be careful of a lady in a red dress. NeNe Leakes looked dangerously haute in red Balenciaga pants set, with Christian Louboutin sandals, and we were so here for it. From her platinum blonde hair to her incredible glam, she exuded confidence and reminded us that she’s still THAT GIRL! Bravo…you know what time it is.
We should just call her the woman version of Benjamin Button, because if we didn’t know any better we would say the Mya is aging backwards. The “It’s All About Me” singer looked stylishly retro in a white and green House of Gray belted trench coat that had matching pants. She kept things mod with white stilettos from Shoe Dazzle, and Mya’s ensemble definitely gave us 1960’s vibes.
Amerie can do no wrong, and her latest Tiny Desk performance on YouTube, made us fall in love with her music all over again. For the BET Experience 2025, she kept things simple and refined, in a grey tank top that she paired with cutout Rag & Bone blue jeans, and a black Dolce & Gabbana belt. She sashayed on the carpet in her black Dior boots while serving fierce poses for the camera.
She may be tiny, but her style extends far beyond her stature. Real Housewives of Atlanta star, Kelli Ferrell slayed on the Fashion Bomb daily red carpet in a snakeskin Lapointe dress that gave ultra sex appeal. She accessorized with her signature oversized bangles, and we loved her gold Esor Marie open-toe heels. We’re sure her stylist Paris Chea is the mastermind behind this look.
She’s not new to this, but true to this and Da Brat looked sporty chic in a black Pure Atlanta hoodie, with grey sweatpants. Instead of strutting, she kept things gangsta, with her swagger on full display. All we can say is from her hair, to her outfit, and persona, everything was on brand when it came to Da Brat.

The count down has begun, and this Friday June 6th, Tyler Perry’s latest film Straw is expected to debut on Netflix with an extraordinary cast.
There was a special screening on Tuesday at the Paris Theater in Manhattan, and the cast arrived with style & grace. Perry, who not only wrote and produced the film but also directed and shot it at his studio in Atlanta, looked dapper in a black tweed suit designed by Amiri. He layered his suit over a crisp white shirt that added sophistication, and his black boots were complimentary to his wide leg trousers.
From the talented Taraji P. Henson, to the multifaceted Teyana Taylor, and charismatic Sherri Sheppard, the film is bound to leave us glued to our screens. Henson, plays a single mother named “Janiyah” who encounters a series of unfortunate circumstances while caring for her ill daughter.
Showing us her acting chops in iconic movies likeBaby Boy, and The Color Purple, Henson will undoubtedly deliver a thought-provoking performance. She stunned on the carpet in a brown asymmetrical Stephanie Rolland gown that was strikingly beautiful.
In addition to Henson, Teyana Taylor showed up to the premiere in a ground-breaking black velvet dress by Schiaparelli. As one of the most avant-garde fashion houses in Paris, Schiaparelli is known for their bold, daring and theatrical details. Taylor embodied modernity with her gold accessories, including oversized earrings, a sculptural bangle and statement belt that was adorned with gold charms.

The television host radiated and exuded elegance in her white monochromatic ensemble, and perhaps we’ve never seen Sherri look better.
