Happy Friday, Bombers and Bombshells!
Yesterday, I was blessed to film a talk for BET/Centric’s series called the Round. Fashioned after TED talks, the Round features African-American industry leaders in various vocations as they share their journeys, wisdom, and advice. The goal is to uplift, inspire, and empower.
I was humbled to take part in Season 2, which features Morgan Stanley Vice Chairman Carla Harris, HIV/AIDS activist Hydeia Broadbent, Studio Museum of Harlem Director Thelma Golden, Google and WEEN executive Valeisha Butterfield Jones, writer Nadira Hira, Maternity Lifestyle Maven Latham Thomas, Sandra Bland’s mother and Activist Geneva Reed-Veal, Democratic National Convention CEO Leah Daughtry, Best Selling Author and Money Maven Patrice Washington, and Carol’s Daughter Founder Lisa Price (not pictured).
Every talk was poignant and overwhelmingly powerful; you’ll definitely want to tune in this Fall/Winter!
For my speech, I spoke about my humble beginnings. Though a lot of you were saying “Yassss!” when I moved to Paris (see my announcement post here), Paris was not glamorous, people! I struggled while there to find a job and a decent place to live. Bet ya didn’t know that. Now you know. Tune in to Centric to get the story;)
To speak on the round, I went for my interpretation of Parisian chic in a Balmain blazer I scored at Net-a-Porter, a Haute Hippie Gold top, and Rayar Jeans chain distressed jeans.
I accessorized with Tom Ford Python Heels (also from NAP, I used the APP10 10% discount code via their App!), Chanel Earrings, and a Chanel Bag.
What do you think?
