Many interpreted his specific casting request to mean that only wanted women of mixed race–anyone else could look elsewhere.

@WhiteEyedShadow @kanye @kanyewest Most white women are mixed, too. He meant when both of your parents can be classified as different races.

An unofficial poll of the Fashion Bomb Daily staff during tonight’s conference call saw no harm in Ye’s announcement. At FBD, we tout ourselves as the #1 online destination for the multicultural fashionista; what we mean is that we welcome Bombshells from all walks of life, no matter their shape, size, culture, country, or race! We’d only like to assume that Mr. West had the same intent, and wanted to see a diverse selection of models.
Also, Fashion Bomb staffer Marsha pointed out that Kanye did cast the super chocolately and toned Teyana Taylor in his Fade video.
In sum, we don’t think Kanye has a color issue.
But only time will tell. His show goes down here in New York on September 7th. Anyone got extra tickets?
Either way, stay tuned here for the review.
What do you think?
Was Kanye’s announcement offensive?
