So Legendary Damon, Ty Hunter, and I had our 3rd No Basics Brunch at Corner Social in Harlem!
Someone asked, “What is the No Basics Brunch about, really?” It’s simply a brunch full of fashionable enthusiasts. Instead of calling it ‘Fashion Brunch,’ we brainstormed a catchy name, and settled on No Basics. The name is fun and so is the event!
Take a look at a bit of street styled from our well dressed attendees:
Nichole Alibi went for subdued and monochrome in a white ruffled top and khaki pants, topped off by Valentino rockstud pumps and Prada sunglasses.
Linda and Corey of Midget Giraffe always represent! They looked lovely in pieces of their own design.
Koran looked summer ready in all white, electrified by a shock of blond hair.
@Ofunneamaka rocked a Forever 21 top, topshop pants, and Prabal Gurung for Target heels.
Shade! @_Melenigma committed to the theme in a hot H&M hat, a Uniqlo top, and River Island shoes.
Designer Kira Nacole went for all black with lace up sandals, a fringed bag, and look at me shades.
This fashionista paired a sparkly top with jeans shorts and blush colored peep toe heels.
How gorgeous is Cynthia Gitonga? This brown skinned beauty kept it simple in a floral print romper from Mystique Boutique.
And this young man paired a printed top with matching solid colored shorts.

This time around, the hosts opted for an African print theme, so Legendary Damon wore a printed Kehinde Wiley suit and a dazzling necklace.
Ty slipped on Midget Giraffe pants and matching necklaces.
And I rocked a cropped jacket and fitted skirt by Ghanaian designer Ame’yo. I finished with Giuseppe Zanotti chain sandals and a Shevy clutch by Helmer.
We had a blast!
We’re having two more this summer–one in July and another in August. I’ll be sure to post details here and on the ‘Gram so you can join us;)
