“I love being me!”

20120614-154712.jpg
” I once read a quote that stated ‘the hardest thing in life is to try to be yourself in a world that is trying to make you someone else.’ Welp I express myself thru beauty n’ fashion regardless of the opinions of others!”

” I am C.Michelle Chic…*Besos*”

Splurge: Rihanna’s Da Silvano Restaurant Christian Louboutin Havana Woman Trash Oxfords

Rihanna’s been keen on wearing sneakers and flats lately, but stepped it up a notch for a recent dinner date at one of her favorite restaurants, Da Silvano. The songstress went for monochromatic red in a slightly sheer T by Alexander Wang top and tab front A.L.C. trousers, accented by her standby Céline Nano bag, Karen Walker Super Duper Strength Sunglasses, and $895 Christian Louboutin Havana Woman Trash Oxfords:

The patent leather round toe oxfords are part of Louboutin’s 20th Anniversary Capsule collection, and are decorated with “trash” accessories at the toe.

Are you feeling ’em?

If so, get them at Barney’s. Save on the rest of her look here:

Hot! or Hmm….?

” My Style is daring–not safe.”

” Style should be unique…”

“… we should all be walking inspirations:)”

Um…I love it all! Your style is amazing. Is it your bold accessories? Vibrant colors? Killer hair? I don’t know what ‘it’ is, but you’ve got it!

Fashion Bombshell of the Day: Amy from New York

Today we have a New York Bombshell! Check out Manhattan resident Amy:

The FIT student writes, “My style is a mix of everything depending on how I wake up in the mornings.”

“… Some days it is business casual, sometimes preppy, but most of the time bohemian-chic because I do love to be comfortable.”

“.. Some of this may have be attributed to the fact that I moved to New York City from Los Angeles so I am kind of a mixture/hybrid of styles.”

” I love the chill vibe from Cali but then I also love the hustle and bustle of professional New York. I blog at www.vivierebella.com where you can get to know my sense of style and vibe but I really just love everything flowy with gold accents and accessories.”

” I prefer shorts over skirts for comfortability and I really appreciate good fabrics.”

“… I love to express myself through the clothes I wear and although I love designer brands that is not necessarily the best way to dress because money cannot buy one style…unless it’s a stylist.:)”

” I aspire to inspire.”

Pretty! Please spill the tea on that pink and purple splashed mini dress! So cute.

Claire’s Life: The 2012 Style Bloggers of Color Conference

Happy Monday!
This past weekend, I attended the very 1st Style Bloggers of Color Conference down in Atlanta, Georgia:

I was honored to be the Conference’s keynote speaker, and tell all the fellow bloggers in the room a little about my story, and lessons I’ve learned since launching the Fashion Bomb in August 2006.

I was super nervous, but I think it went well! And the icing on the cake was that I won the Social Media and Style Blogger of the Year Awards!

It was such a pleasure to see and share my story with former Bombshells and current friends including my girl Marie Denee aka the Curvy Fashionista:

Jean Claude and Sai of the blog Because I am Fabulous.

Mattie of the blog Mattieologie.com, who organized everything down to the most minute detail.

And many, many more!

As for my outfit, I decided to play a bit with colorblocking in a pink and blue snake print dress by Sandro, accented by lace up blue Jimmy Choo Gladys sandals:

I continued with colors with an American Apparel oversized clutch in yellow, purple YSL lipstick, and gold cuffs by Aqua:

It was a great day, and I’m so honored! Style Blogger of the Year? Yay!

What do you think?
Many many thanks to everyone who has contributed to the Fashion Bomb’s success in the past and present, including Jihan, Faith, Ashley, and Zillz! Thanks to Mattie and to all my fellow style bloggers for your support. You’re the bomb.
Smootches!

Fashion Bombshell of the Day: Fernaira from LA

As promised, check out today’s Bombshell: Fernaira from LA.

She says, “ I am currently a Fashion Design student at Fashion Institute of Design and Merchandising.”

“… I have a personal style blog 90snostalgic.tumblr.com to document my inspirations and new finds.”

” My personal style depends on taking classic sensibilities with an edge and building around them with eclectic pieces and accessories.”

” I also use lipsticks to help illustrate my bold personality.”

“At heart, a lot of my ideologies come from referencing 90s fashion.”

” I don’t strategically plan anything to wear, when I wake up my outfit is usually inspired by yesterdays reflections, and todays progressions.”

#Ow! Love your description. I would have liked to see just a bit of color, but get your inspirations and hey–black is always chic!

Happy Friday, folks!
So today we’re featuring a Fashion Bomber…but we’re also featuring a Bombshell! So feast your eyes on Dave from Atlanta, and stay tuned for our Bombshell!

He writes, “I would consider my style to be Urban Preppy.”

” I am a fashion grad student, sculptor and co-editor for the fashion blog Off-glass.com.”

“…So ultimately I study the culture of fashion and apply it to my world.”

” You can definitely see the “Artist” in my look.”

” I’m also really into personal style and like to make subtle statements.”

” I figure if I like my look, everyone else will love it.”
