Fashion Bombshell of the Day: Lolo from the UK

Ready for today’s Bombshell? I think you’re gonna love Lolo from the UK:

This is actually her second time as a Bombshell (the first time, she went under the name Paloma). At any rate, the blogger for Loloskloset.co.uk has a few new looks she wanted y’all to see! Check ’em out:

She only gave descriptions of her outfits. For the outfit above, she wrote, “Shorts and a metallic top.

“Liquid leggings and high tops.”

“This is a look for the Ascot races.”

“Leggings and a blazer.”

“This is in line with the latest colour trend, mint. I wore this look with my neon Louboutins.”

“A little black dress…and floral fever”

Love it all, and am dying for your Ascot races look and those neon Louboutins! Your style has certainly evolved (though it was the bomb to begin with). Can’t wait to see how your blog has progressed as well.

Fashion Bomber of the Day: Uche from Texas

We’re continuing our Bomber/Bombshell blitz with Uche from Texas:

He says, “My style is one word, Uche. Its sexy, its intriguing, its comfortable, and most importantly its Uche. Uche is Nigerian for sexy…. lol JK. But seriously, the most important thing about style I’ve come to find is being able to evolve.”

” The way I dress now is certainly not the way I dressed last year, and it probably wont be the way I’ll dress next year. You have to constantly revamp your self as you get older and come in contact with different situations and experiences.”

” As a model/actor/designer/musician/writer/OVERALL JUST A DAMN ARTIST studying to be a doctor, I’ve got quite a wide range of perspectives.”

“In all that I do, I try my very best to look like a gentleman. My style is overall reflective of my Nigerian and American upbringing. My life is filled with rich imagery, contemporary diction, and traditional aesthetic; my style reflects that.”

“I completely understand the need for men to select loud vibrant colors in their desire to be different and unique, but I don’t think its about the colors and how tight the jeans you wear that really make you stand out; rather, what matters the most is your confidence and your swagger.”

“Swagger has no language; I can wear a style in China or in Belgium, and still look good with ease.”

“No matter what you have on, a stranger should be able to say “wow, that person looks good, not because your colors are loud and attention grabbing, BUT because of the simple fact that to that stranger, you present yourself well, and you carry yourself confidently. I am a firm believer in “men dressing like men”. And as such, I employ what I like to think of as the GQ (Gentlemen Quarterly) principle; Ties, blazers, vests, cardigans, fitted suits, form fitting trousers, fedora hats, Ray ban sunglasses, Ray ban nerd glasses(i’m blind without these, they are actually prescription glasses), Dark colored scarves, leather belts, Ralph Lauren boots, leather watches (Fossil), rosaries (I’m 100% catholic), colorful socks, v necks, polo shirts, boating shoes (Sperry topsiders), and a host of other things.”

“I am an upcoming clothing designer, based in the U.S, BUT I am in school to be a medical doctor. By God’s endless grace, my future clothing projects in fashion will grab the attention of fashion lovers all over, and not one specific region.”

My favorite designer is Ralph Lauren, and every outfit you see me in, probably has one article of Ralph Lauren. I like colors that are conservative, like blue, red, and brown, BUT don’t be too surprised if you see me in a pink shirt or some orange shorts; I like to keep things fresh.”

I am an art lover, vintage collector, fashion connoisseur, manly man with a heightened sense of style, and I strongly believe all of this is projected by just a mere glance at my style.”

“The best accessory any man can have is a beautiful woman/queen on his side. I’m still trying to find that.”

Well, alright Uche! I’m sure you’ll find many candidates in the comments section. Your impeccable style and verbose style description speak for themselves.

Fashion Bomber of the Day: Dualleh from the Hague

Are you ready for today’s Bomber/Bombshell blitz? Our lucky guy is Dualleh from the Hague in the Netherlands:

He was submitted by his friend Meda, who writes, “As Dualleh says himself, he is a stylist, artist, and a clothing deconstructer.”

” He brings life to every garment and likes to mix his wardrobe with good vintage pieces.”

” He even owns some women’s garments (mostly blazers) making them fit his own personal style.”

” It does not matter to him where the clothes come from. He can do magic with his sewing machine.”

” He is also a style advisor at our work, where clients make an appointment for a styling session, of course with the goal of the client buying the outfits he’s chosen and styled.”

“However, above having a great style he’s an overall life lover, super funny and has the most adorable baby boy!”

“I really hope you feature him! :)”

“Check out and/or follow his LookBook!”

Will do! He has a great look and agreed–his baby boy is the cutest! It’s always nice to get a taste of European sophistication. Fashion Bomb approved!

Beauty Bomb: How to Reduce Summer Oily Skin

Shamir writes, “The summer is near and I’ve changed foundations. I’m now using a stick or cream foundation in order to minimize oil but haven’t seen a dramatic improvement. I’ve even tried the Milk of Magnesia and Monistat chaffing gel. While I agree the Monistat is a great primer it hasn’t reduced my oil production. Please help!!”

As I too suffer from the woes of having oily skin, I decided to reach out to Emmy Award winning hairstylist and professional airbrush makeup artist Lavette Slater. She was able to provide some very helpful tips (which, frankly, I am about to put into practice). Get into it!

Hairstylist and Professional Makeup Artist Lavette Slater

Oily Skin Makeup Tips and Remedies:

Lavette Slater:  In order to deal with oily skin we first have to understand what’s happening and why. The skin produces excessive oil for many reasons some of the reasons are hormonal imbalances, eating foods that are high in fat and cholesterol, drinking sodas and other carbonated drinks and excessive washing and irritating the skin.

Drinking lots of water and eating fruits and veggies help with oily skin period. Eating these foods that are rich in antioxidants and vitamins helps to even and balance the sebaceous glands (oil glands) and a healthy diet is overall great for our health ,body and skin.

Tips to minimize oily skin:

Don’t over wash your face or use harsh cleansers. When using a strong cleanser, it can actually cause the skin to produce more oil. Be very gentle when washing the face. Sometimes since the skin is so oily we tend to scrub the skin harder which will cause the skin to become irritated and to produce more oil.

Use an “Oil-Based” cleanser to gently cleanse the skin. The oil in the cleanser can actually help to remove the oil (using oil to remove the oil) while leaving the skin moisturized without a buildup.

Use an Alcohol free toner/astringent, this will remove excess residue left over without drying or being to harsh on the skin.

Use an “Oil-free” moisturizer. These types of moisturizers act as a humectant, it locks in moisture without being greasy. Also check for moisturizers that contain benzyl peroxide this helps to clear oily skin and to fight against blemishes and blackheads.

Use anti-shine primers before applying your foundation.

Always use “Oil-free” foundation. This will help to minimize the shine by the end of day and it gives you a matte finish. Check all labels for “Oil-free” and/or foundation for Oily skin. It’s important to use foundations that are geared towards your skin type.

When your face is starting to get oily through out the day, simply blotting the areas is best. Try not to keep applying makeup, this can cause a heavy makeup look. Try blotting sheets, they absorb the excess oil.

Aloe Vera is great overall. It helps control and reduce the amount of oil produced from the pores. It comes in a gel, a liquid or you can just get the plant. When used on the face in the morning and at night you will see a dramatic difference with your oily skin.

Skin Care tips for the summer:

Less is more! Tinted moisturizers are great it moisturizes the skin without a heavy buildup. It provides a light coverage.

Thanks, Lavette!

I hope this was helpful to you, Shamir. I know I am beyond grateful. Will you be testing out Lavette’s tips? Let us know when you began to see results.
