Style Diary: London Spring 2013 Fashion Week Day 2

While Day 1 in London was all about navy blue for me, I decided to inject Day 2 with a bit of color!
Traveling means making items in your wardrobe work a number of different ways, so I threw on my Karl Saatchi pleated faux leather skirt (previously worn here) with my blue Aqua blazer (previously worn here), and anchored it all with a neutral white button down by Equipment and my Kurt Geiger pin heels (which I’ve worn a million times).

I continued to play with color with my Proenza Schouler PS1, then completed with sparkling jewelry, including my go to J.Crew necklace.

Then I was off to dinner by Piccadilly Circus!

*True story, as I was running off, my pin heels broke:**(((

I’ve gotten some good use out of them. And hey, guess that means I can cop yet another pair of shoes whilst in London. Liberty, here I come!

Look for Less: Kim Kardashian’s New York City Kardashian Kollection Sheer Tie Neck Blouse, Monika Chiang Leather Pencil Skirt, and Céline Sandals

Kim Kardashian was spotted out and about in NYC, before heading to Sears in Yonkers, NY to commemorate the first anniversary of the Kardashian Kollection line. For the occasion, she stepped out in a sheer tie-neck blouse from the collection, a $525 Monika Chiang Leather Pencil Skirt, and her favorite Céline sandals:

Her skirt is an on-trend take on the classic pencil skirt, in buttery soft black leather.

You can recreate Kim’s look for less with the below pieces.

Hot! The all-black look really works for here. I like the way Kim breathed life into her ensemble with mixed textures.

What do you think? Would you wear it?

Fashion Bombshell of the Day: Tulinawa from Sweden

Since I’m abroad, I’d figure we’d kick off the week with a European Bombshell, Tulinawa from Sweden:

She writes, “When it comes to fashion I would say I’m like a chameleon.”

” I love juxtaposing different types of styles and making them work together.”

” I also like editing items to fit my personal taste.”

” Fashion is my form of art.”

” Personally I find that an eye for colour, detail, texture, forms, shapes and sizes…”

“… are what create a stunning look.”

My blog, www.tulinawa.blogg.se, is where I display my daily outfits as well as venture into other fashion related subjects.”

How gorgeous are you? I appreciate your simple looks and individual flourishes.

Style Diary: London Spring 2013 Fashion Week Day 1

So I’m in London!
Thus far, I’ve attended a great number of shows, including Issa, Marios Schwab, Rag & Bone, and Moschino Cheap & Chic. My schedule is actually pretty light, so I’ve been able to take in a few London monuments, like Big Ben.

Being abroad is all about finding new ways to wear whatever’s in your wardrobe. For day one, I belted my Milly Leather Skirt (first worn here), with a red Zara top, and punched it all up with a Zara necklace (Minx mani by Polish Bar of Brooklyn).

I added a bit of pizzazz with my Valentino Zebra rockstud kitten heels. No, the kitten heel isn’t as sexy as something a bit higher, but I was able to move around all day with zero pain;)

I threw my Ipad, camera, Oyster Card, and bottle of water in my Givenchy, then was on my way!

Style Diary: London Spring 2013 Fashion Week Day 1

So I’m in London!

Thus far, I’ve attended a great number of shows, including Issa, Marios Schwab, Rag & Bone, and Moschino Cheap & Chic. I’m off today to Burberry (wee!).
My schedule is actually pretty light, so I’ve been able to take in a few London monuments, like Buckingham Palace.

It’s been quite chilly in Londontown, so I decided to pair a Faith Connexion Annabelle Dexter-Jones crepe jumpsuit with a few UK accessories: a pair of Charlotte Olympia Leopard and Zebra Foal Jenny Court Shoes and my Stella McCartney bag.

And no, your eyes don’t deceive you! I tried a new hairstyle. My scalp has finally gotten a bit used to the braids, so I attempted a braid bun, thanks to this Youtube tutorial.

How did I do?
A dash of MAC Morange and a pair of Tom Ford cat eye Nikita sunglasses, and I was good to go!

*Later on, I grabbed drinks with friends, and switched out my huge tote for a smaller printed clutch from Urban Outfitters.

Which bag works better?

Fashion Bombshell of the Day: Courtney from North Carolina

Today’s Bombshell is Courtney from North Carolina:

She says, “I’m an avid thrift shopper…”

“… and seamstress…”

“… so anything I find I can alter to fit my style.”

” I’m a big fan of florals…”

“… prints”

“… and “grandma inspired” style.”

” I love documenting my finds on my blog…”

“… [it’s called] Houston & Parsimony www.houstonandparsimony.blogspot.com. “

Ok! I like and appreciate your vintage pieces, and your ability to make them work with your wardrobe.
What say you?

Fashion Bomber of the Day: Asiff from Florida

It’s been a little while since we’ve had both a Bomber and Bombshell, so I decided to feature two readers today.
Check out Asiff from Orlando, Florida:

He types, “To me having a sense of style is a way of life.”

” Personally, I don’t put a cap on my style.”

“…what really plays a major part is the way the clothes works with my body.”

” I’m a slim guy so rather than picking up something because its a hot commodity…”

“… it first has to fit the way I want it to, which is slim and fitted.”

” I’m very picky so the fit is the key to my style.”

” I also like playing with different patterns and drawing inspirations from New York urban trends and making it my own with more tailored fits such as those from European countries.”

” My dream is to become a stylist some day but for now I’m styling myself.”

See more about my looks from my blog Man VS Threads (www.manvsthreads.blogspot.com)”

You are correct! Fit is super important.
What do you think of the way Asiff’s clothes fit?
