Happy Sunday, folks!
Fashion week has been a whirlwind! I’ve been running around, capturing content for the site, so haven’t had much time to record my outfits over here like I used to (though over on The Bomb Life, it’s poppin!).
At any rate, on day 1, I popped by Michael Costello, 5:31 Jerome, and Harlem’s Fashion Row (and said hey to June Ambrose, Ty Hunter, Jerome Lamaar, and Sean Frazier). I’m wearing mostly black designers this Fashion Week, so slipped on a custom made skirt by Montréal créatrice, Kareen Singh.
The skirt was a statement piece, so I kept everything else simple, slipping on a Topshop Metallic Pyjama Top, Stuart Weitzman sandals, Dior shades, and a Chanel bag.
Stuart Weitzman Nudist sandals are pretty comfortable for a day full of shows…but by the end of the night, my dogs were barking!
Still on the lookout for the perfect comfortable heel. Or flats…stay tuned.
Until then, what do you think?

Designing duo Michelle Ochs and Carly Cushnie know how to make a woman look and feel sexy. Proven by their flirty runway looks, you can expect to see subtle displays of skin through high slits, cut outs and cold shoulders. Their Spring/Summer collection seems to be marketable to all women. Whether you’re CEO of a company or a socialite known for making alluring red carpet appearances, you’ll definitely find an ensemble in the Cushnie et Ochs Collection.
The brand’s tasteful love affair with cut-outs is in full swing. One of my favorite pieces was the peach jumpsuit that featured a unique oval, halter neck design with cut-out panels on each side. An interesting contrast is their LBD with the waist and thigh cut-out.

The monochrome jumpsuit sent down the runway set the tone for classic, color block garments. Flowy, simple and effortless. The black and white overlap into subtle geometric shapes which add light personality to an otherwise simple look.

Offering something for everyone, Cushnie et Ochs sent separates down the runway for the business professional. The white two-piece suit is reminiscent of powerful Bond girl on a high-profile mission. On the contrary, the designers offer separates that appeal to today’s woman.

Something for everyone. The Spring/Summer 2017 Collection speaks to every aspect of a woman’s personality. Whether you need a suit, cocktail dress or a night out on the town, you’re bound to find something to wear within this collection.
Beyonce, Solange Knowles, Camila Alves et al will most definitely be pleased after Zimmermann’s Spring 2017 Ready to Wear presentation during #NYFW. Stylistically appealing, the collection melded materials from lace, and tulle, all layered with detailed craftsmanship.

Pretty and polished, the sleek offering demonstrates an immaculate combination of romanticism with a touch of boho inspiration. Floral patterns rimmed with delicate lace seemed to billow effortlessly on the runway.

Stand out skirts and frocks featured leg baring hemlines, with some boasting strategic cut outs, button embellished fanciful frills and coordinated tassels. Gorgeous suede lace up knee high boots were added to the style mix for a cohesive yet subtly sexy look.

Not to be outdone by flouncy dresses, a masterful mix of trousers featuring front tie waist wraps, drawstring ties and side button detailed sides all made show stopping appearances on the catwalk.

For sure, Beyonce will be serving sass and style in a few of these stunners, and of course we’ll be here to report when she does.

Before Queen of Katwe’s big premiere at the 2016 Toronto International Film Festival, Lupita Nyong’o posed for a portrait for the film in a Valentino Resort 2017 Nature Print Dress:
Lupita played on the dress’s colors by anchoring her look with yellow pumps.
For Spring 2017, Amy Smilovic of Tibi turned the bulk and dimension of Edwardian silhouettes into altogether modern pieces that her slew of global fans would love. Pops of color made an appearance in canary yellow, tangerine, and teal.
The brand interpreted the age-old corset—thrown under a blazer and acid wash jeans, in denim for a wearable take on the waist-trainer, on the high-waist of a mesh and zip accented skirt, and the sheer, top-half of effortless trousers that cloaked the belly button.
Suits took many different iterations, from striped and menswear-inspired to denim that was leg-baring with shorts.
Leather came in yellow and black. A pair of mid-rise trousers felt accessible and feminine when paired with an eye-catching blouse and a dress that was equal parts pinafore and overall felt crisp and functional with a myriad of pockets.
Simple and straightforward dresses were both stunning and accessible, in roomy silhouettes that truly made comfort and style synonymous.
The designs here were elegant and expressive—absolute wardrobe must-haves for the modern day woman who wants to be cool but never look as if she’s trying too hard. The brand’s off-the-shoulder tunics have been a huge hit with style stars like Olivia Palermo, Heidi Klum, and Olivia Culpo. And we’re expecting the button-accented pants, shorts, and the variation of blouses to be the fashion hits everyone is clamoring for next season.
Fan Bingbing was the belle of the ball at The Magnificent Seven 2016 Toronto International Film Festival Premiere. She slipped on an Elie Saab Fall 2016 Couture Full Skirted Bird Embellished Gown:
Fan eschewed the runway’s statement-making neckline for bare décolletage.
Ryan Roche’s idea of luxury is effortless and beguiling—punctuated by soft and easy knits and sumptuous cashmere. The palette for her Spring 2017 collection was completely muted and elegant, with expertly-tailored suits making just as much of an impact as a sheer lace all-in-one.
Though the hues on display (or lack thereof) were subdued, the contrast and distinction came in the actual designs themselves. A white, high-neck dress with an ankle-grazing length stood in stark disparity to the modern topper and mini skirt combo that came directly afterward.
Sheer designs and freeing the proverbial nipple have become big things in fashion. Roche embraced the trend with see-through knits, transparent skirts, tops with plunging necklines, and an of-the-moment bandeau.
My favorite pieces in the assortment were minimalist in approach, versatile enough to wear no matter the season, and pared-down so that accessories could take the lead if needed. The leather pointed-toe pumps and booties anchoring the ensembles were formidable without being overpowering.
Chic and stirring—Roche demonstrated that simplicity can be passionate. There were enough clever riffs here to feel fresh and new, while still sticking to the brand’s trademark clarity and ease.
Harper’s Bazaar celebrated “ICONS By Carine Roitfeld” last night at The Plaza Hotel, and all the It Girls were in attendance.
Let’s dive right in, shall we?
It’s been all about Kylie Jenner this Fashion Week, children! She continued her stylish reign in a Balmain dress and Yeezy Season 2 clear sandals. Gotta give it to her, she looks hot!
Izabel Goulart also ponied up to Pre-Fall 2016 Balmain for the party, in the longer, greener version of Kylie’s dress. She looks great, also. Balmain always wins!
Carine Roitfeld is poppin. She wore a leopard accented gown by her favorite, Givenchy.
Her daughter, Julie Restoin-Roitfeld, skewed saucy in a completely sheer lace gown.
Event co-host, Kim Kardashian, posed in a sheer Spring 2016 Couture lace gown by Givenchy.
Kanye West joined her for a pic, and looked comfy in pieces from his Yeezy collection.
Kendall Jenner showed off a banged hairstyle and a nude tulle off-the-shoulder column gown with flutter sleeves with red and gold feather flower embroidery by Marchesa.
Kourtney Kardashian rounded up the Kardashian/Jenner representation in a hip showcasing black gown from Anthony Vaccarello Spring’s 2016 collection.
Nick Cannon wore a turban and sparkly silver shoes. Hey, confidence is key.
Hailey Baldwin is slowly but surely becoming one of my red carpet favorites. Yes to her sparkling Naeem Khan gown.
Alexa Chung chose a shimmering yellow Gucci Pre-Fall 2016 gown for the night.
Lindsey Wixson vamped it up in a dark lip and Alexander McQueen Pre-Fall 2016.
Alexander McQueen was also on tap for Nicola Peltz, who wore a Fall 2016 lace gown.
Jasmine Tookes was named Lais Ribeiro on Getty. Guess we all make mistakes, but I can see nothing wrong with this cut out red dress. Work it, mama!
Bombshell Rosie Perez graced the carpet in a tiered ruffle white frock. Yes!
Olympic gold medalist and track runner Dalilah Muhammad brought her medal with her to the party.
June Ambrose gave glamour and drama in a kimono and sky high heels.
Daphne Groeneveld, hand over that Balmain dress, and nobody gets hurt! The artistry on these dresses is fantastic. Hats off to Olivier.
Victoria Justice went for fringe in a Roberto Cavalli Spring 2016 dress.
Emily Ratajkowski left very little to the imagination in a deep plunge Julien MacDonald Fall 2016 sequin dress.
will.I.am gave his look some pop with a gray toned top hat and silvery shoes.
Russell Westbrook passed through in abbreviated pants.
Imaan Hammam is gorgeous. She slipped on an ethereal white gown by Jonathan Simkai.
Coco Rocha gave angles in a cocoa dress with an exposed shoulder. She slays!
Leigh Lezark shined like a star in a Valentino Fall 2016 gold star printed dress.
Lastly, Natasha Poly made a statement in a pretty purple Francesco Scognamiglio Fall 2016 Couture gown. Work!
And that does it! Talk about a party! What a guest list!
At any rate, who had your favorite look of the night?
