Hey Hey!
So Fashion Bomb Daily celebrated its 10th Anniversary in late August, but we thought: what better time than Fashion Week to officially toast to 10 years?
Fashion Bomb squad members Faith, Giselle, Marsha, and Pierre were in the building to turn up. During the night, we also announced two new additions to our team: stylist Kelley Carter, who will be our Editor-at-Large, and Ty Hunter, who will be our Director of Special Projects!
Fashion Bomb Daily is becoming more like a magazine, which means we’ll be creating more original content, from videos to exclusive editorials, and even more curated events.
Several chic supporters popped by, including June Ambrose, Bonang Matheba, Miss Diddy LA, Christina Milian, and Michael Costello:
It was a fun time!
Here’s to another 10 years!
Special thank you to Kim Blackwell and Ronny Oppong of the PMM Agency.

Yesterday, the iconic Celine Dion graced the Ellen DeGeneres Show while wearing a mixed print ensemble featuring an exuberant a Victoria Beckham Fall 2016 Gingham Print Button Down Top, a High Waisted Striped Midi Skirt from the brand and white pointed toe pumps.
The classic shirt is ideal for any outfit! While it serves as one of the most universal wardrobe staples, you can amp up it’s sartorial appeal by pairing it with other unexpected patterns, as seen on the model below. In addition, Victoria Beckham’s lux burnt orange and navy blue pleated midi skirt is just as equally tantalizing.
Fun fact: Celine’s dynamic look was styled by none other than the visionary himself, Mr. Law Roach. Yes!
In contrast to CiCi’s version, the model’s ‘fit incorporates a more polished effect with a waist-cinching belt and patent leather pumps. The voluminous top includes an off-the-shoulder feature, a fitted silhouette and a crisp, clean look. And, the skirt is the icing on the cake. Cop your own set here!
Monika Chiang’s ‘Carla’ lace-up rope gladiator sandals are everywhere! A couple weeks ago, we saw Karrueche and Kylie Jenner slay in the decorated footwear but Ciara opted for more sophisticated vibes.
These versatile lovelies house a 4-inch stiletto heel, cream leather and a back zipper. Are you feeling them?
While I’m an avid supported of all things monochrome, I believe a lighter shoe would have been perfect for this frock (i.e- think Stuart Weitzman’s ‘Nudist’ sandal).
But, Ciara’s also known for her unexpected fashion choices – so, hey, more power to her!
Serena’s fashion show for HSN was amazing! The sophisticated and sexy collection featured 42 autumn perfect pieces, including comfy sweaters, cable knit scarves, and fun faux leather jackets. The inspiration? Novel Romance, which HSN described as, ‘a modern statement on classic knit dressing with a focus on a variety of textures including cables, ribs and heather effects.’
See a few pictures here:
Check out the final walk here:
The front row was littered with A-listers, including Anna Wintour, Ciara, Lala Anthony, and Venus Williams.
Ciara and Lala congratulated Serena on her collection after the show.
#SquadGoals.
Did any of you tune in to the live stream? If you did, you’d know that the collection is available now for purchase on HSN!
The fine people over at HSN were kind enough to send over a few pieces from Serena’s collection for me to try out, and I must say: they’re pretty cute!
My favorites included this Faux Leather and Sherpa Vest, which I rocked with distressed jeans and black booties:
Her sweater dresses are also bomb! They come in brown and gray, and look great with booties and mules. Whether belted or worn under a jacket, it is the perfect piece for fall! I love this gray option, which I wore with a belt, shades, and fun mules:
The sweater dress is Today’s Special on HSN.com! Get it here.
I plan on slipping it on as the temperatures dip, then wearing it under a coat when winter comes knocking.
Now, I want your honest opinions: what do you think?

Tracy Reese is one of NYFW’s must-see shows each season and her latest presentation did not disappoint. The designs were just as whimsical and ethereal as the the beauty looks: featuring natural beauties including icon Bethann Hardison and Sasheer Zamata. Bok-Hee was the stylist behind the gorgeous hair creations, which was an ode to real beauty. Many of the models wore either their natural texture or a tousled topknot. Here, the steps to recreate the latter:
1. Starting with your natural hair texture, work through a small amount of $8 Cantu Wave Whip Curling Mousse to define the natural pattern.
2. Take a large section from the sides, top, and crown area and loosely pull it into a messy half bun—using an elastic to secure it in place. Make sure to leave a few, naturally-falling pieces along the sides of the face and close to the nape of the neck.
3. Gently tug on the hair that is pulled back to make it perfectly imperfect. Then, loosely pin the bun to your head.
Camila Alves and hubby Matthew McCounaughey were all smiles at the 2016 Toronto International Film Festival premiere for the film Sing. The jaw-dropping couple graced the red carpet together but it was Camila who left us absolutely speechless! The model/actress chose to uplift a delicate pick from Monique Lhuillier‘s Resort 2017 collection while accessorizing with simple nude sandals.
In the official presentation, this lace-drenched number was paired with a sheer black silk scarf, soft orange ankle strap sandals and an effortless updo. Am I the only one getting vintage vibes with this one?
I’m totally in love with the whole “off-the-shoulder” trend. It doesn’t matter whether it’s a conservative striped shirt or a ladylike dress – that little glimpse of clavicle is always a subtle (yet sexy) way to show a little skin. And, if you ask me, Camila looks great!
If you don’t know about Kelley Carter, you need to know! The Jersey native has held positions at over 13 publications, including Real Simple, O the Oprah Magazine, and Refinery 29. The Bombshell was tapped by Lexus to create an exclusive lounge at Milk Studios, earmarked for celebrity guests like Rick Ross, Naomi Campbell, Anna Dello Russo, and Kanye West. Kelley sat down with us to chat about her inspiration:
She says, “The inspiration was the actual look of the stunning Lexus car, hashtag for this season, #HowFashionTravels. Since Lexus is a global brand that provides the world with luxe comfort, it was important that Lexus Lounge reflected that. I used designs from international designers like USM (Swiss), Ligne Roset (French), FLOS Lighting designed by Jasper Morrison (Italian by a Brit), Bend Designs(American), Valspar Paint (American), and Inigo Elizade Rugs (Filipino designer). I didn’t want it to feel like the backstage area of NYFW, I want guests to feel like they’ve been transported to their favorite sexy spot in their favorite city. “
Kelley was given a blank slate to construct the lounge, which proved to be a bit difficult. She says, “The biggest challenge is that main lounge is built-out from a raw studio space with no architectural details or natural light. It’s very blank and very cold. The bar area is transformed from a conference room and we all know conference rooms are never sexy. I took cues from my favorite lounges in Paris, Berlin, and London because they are all beautiful windowless spaces that feel good. In order to make the main area feel cozy, I painted the walls a dark emerald green , used globe sconces that give off a warm glow, and shiny metal furniture to reflect and bounce light. For the bar area, I used very graphic patterns on the windows and rug.”
She continues, “Since the space was very cold and I wanted it to feel warm and glamorous, I used shiny paint, gold metal, velvety upholstery, a fluffy wool rug, and filled it with plants. It definitely says “Come here and chill.” I used rich fabrics, black fringed leather, and all gold metal chairs and tables. It reminds me of a chic fall look with layered gold jewelry. “
If you want to recreate this room or spy anything you like, we got the keys!

Spring trends are all about streetwear. From pairing oversized denim jackets with slinky slip dresses and chokers to coupling sweatpants with high heels and a men’s button down, it seemed like the notion of really dressing up on a sunny spring day may be a thing of the past. Leave it up to Altuzarra to march the beat of his own drum. For this season’s assortment, his inspiration was rooted in all things coquettish, flirty and happy, reflecting the blithe, rebellious attitudes of the characters Nicholas Cage and Laura Dern played in David Lynch’s film Wild At Heart. Altuzarra’s garments this go ’round were definitely on the upbeat side with vivid hues and patterns used to serve as somewhat of a distraction from the ills plaguing the world.
For starters, his play on variegated textures executed his theme in quite a cerebral way. A blue python jacket peppered with sequined lemons opened the show, layered over a printed bralet and matching, belted ruffle skirt, both dotted with an onslaught of cherries. The fruit motif was prevalent throughout, with sparkling lemons and cherries on python skirts, knits, cocktail dresses and delicate tiered gowns.
His affinity for python didn’t stop there. Tops, pencil skirts, and tiered slip dresses were also bathed in this sleek snakeskin, to truly feminize the fabric of choice.
Altuzarra’s love for gingham also came to the forefront, once again, with jackets, smart trousers and skirts saturated with the pattern. But upping the ante seems to be Altuzarra’s aesthetic, as he included hints of red lace to surround the hem on these pieces, giving way to somewhat of a romantic allure.
Classic stripes uplifted knitwear in shades of fiery oranges and beach water blues on briefs and bardot dresses with contrasting floral shoulder straps.
And speaking of florals, the collection wasn’t remiss of any. While florals for spring may not be “groundbreaking”, he delivered with giant ones displayed on separates and tinier flowerets embroidered on chiffon tops and dresses.
Spring isn’t typically a season known for a myriad of red carpet offerings, but Altuzarra managed to slip a few options in, namely the final three dresses. However, for everyday wear, he hits the mark, and does so everytime. This collection seemed more “resort” to me than his actual resort collection, given the lightweight fabrics, slicked back hair, minimal makeup and strappy sandals. But his personality and the message he wants to convey always resonates with onlookers.
Fashion may not be the penultimate conduit for world peace, though we can all dream, but it’s comforting to know there is at least one designer who thinks outside of the realm of typical consumer satisfaction. This goes beyond feeling good because you look good in his pieces. Altuzarra wants us all to not be bogged down in moments of adversity or confusion, but to remind ourselves to celebrate in mirth and what to do with those lemons life may throw our way.
The stunning actress hit the red carpet for the 2016 Toronto International Film Festival’s TIFF/InStyle/HFPA Party while wearing an elegant Sophie Theallet Fall 2016 Embellished Gold and Cream Cross Neck Gown and gold ankle strap sandals.
The ladylike number houses a crossed neckline, a midi-length hem and a lux textured effect. Let’s not forget the statement-making cape! As seen below, the same dress was modeled on the runway by the lovely Imaan Hammam.
Now, I adore the dress! But, I feel like an updo would have been more fitting for this ensemble. Nevertheless, Gabby still looks amazing! Go girl!
