Claire’s Life: Norma Kamali Resort 2012 + The Ash Store Opening with Solange and Adrienne Bailon

Hey Bombshells!

I had an action packed evening yesterday. From boutique openings to resort go-sees and mixtape sessions, I did a bit of everything. I only had photographer Marta McAdams with me for the beginning of my day as I took in Norma Kamali’s Resort 2012 collection.

From stretchy cut out swimsuits to striped crop tops, Norma Kamali’s newest venture is geared towards the bold fashionista, unafraid to flaunt her curves in sheer or form fitting garments . For 2012, the Kamali woman is lounging poolside in lacy two piece bikinis, sheer flared pants, and stunningly embellished mesh garments in nude, sable, and steel.

This is how a few pieces look on:

The focus is on the ‘Bombshell’ with maillot silhouettes, frilly mini skirts, and convertible halters.

I can see the collection flattering just about anyone–from svelte divas to more voluptuous vixens. Hot!
After looking at the Resort Collection, I also perused a few items from Spring/Summer 2011:

If this top looks familiar, it’s because Rihanna wore it for a performance on the Today Show:

Norma Kamali is a certified favorite of Fashion Bomb stars like Ciara, Rihanna, and Beyonce. It was fun to see everything up close!

After my quick visit, I was off to a few boutique openings.

See more of Norma Kamali’s collection at www.normakamalicollection.com.

And Adrienne Bailon

*I actually shot video at another opening for a boutique called Blake Scotland. Stay tuned for the relaunch of Fashion Bomb TV (hopefully) this Friday.

Claire’s Life: Demetria Lucas aka A Belle in Brooklyn’s Book Launch

Hey Bombshells!
Last night I had the pleasure of attending the book launch party for my friend Demetria Lucas aka A Belle in Brooklyn. The award winning writer and relationships editor for Essence Magazine penned a sassy tome called, “A Belle in Brooklyn: The Go-To Girl for Advice on Living Your Best Single Life”. The blockbuster book drops today, so Demetria welcomed lots of industry insiders and friends to a penthouse to enjoy Belle cupcakes and drinks by X-rated Fusion Liqueur.

Take a look at a few snaps:

The fabulous Bevy Smith was in the building, and delivered a speech during the festivities.

Friends Michelle, Arlene, and Kai came out to support.

Gardy and Calcie were amongst the many men in attendance.

A fan holds a Belle-tini and a signed book.

Of course I snapped a few pix!

Yours truly with my buddy and handbag designer Briana. Check out her bags at www.bmariestyle.com.

With publicist Nicole Newsum.

Cheesing with Ebony Magazine fashion and beauty editor Elaine Welteroth .

And a quick twitpic with the Belle of the Ball.
Speaking of Belle, check out her outfit!

She was blinging in an optic white dress from ASOS, sparkly heels, and diamond bangles.
It was a fun night.

Can’t wait to pick up the book!

Fashion Bombshell of the Day: Grace from D.C.

Today’s Bombshell is gorgeous Grace from D.C.:

She says, “My style is very feminine, chic, eclectic (at times), sexy w/ a touch of sophistication. I mix highs and lows with some new and vintage pieces.”

“I just try to put on things that make me feel good. My style aesthetic is neat and clean, polished when I go to work, but laid back when I am not.”

“I LOVE accessories – I’m not dressed without them. I am always putting on and taking off pieces until I feel I’ve gotten it right… Sometimes I don’t but that’s okay too..”

“I tried to show a variety of looks: What I wear to work, casual, going out, etc.”

“Oh and I blog too… Amazeingrace.blogspot.com

Fashion Bombshell of the Day: Arielle from Alabama

Today’s Bombshell is the alluring Arielle from Birmingham, Alabama:

She says, “I have a very classic style but at times some have said I’m a little gaudy (how shocking! lol).”

“… I am a 24-year-old local television news reporter. I’m fairly young but my work attire is very limiting (i.e. nothing sleeveless, certain colors, lengths, styles etc) and doesn’t necessarily scream youth and fun.”

“… So when it comes to my after work/weekend attire I really get to let my personality show. I follow the trends but feel I have an older look and spirit and so try to stay true to my own personal style.”

“I was born and raised in the south so there’s a certain level of respectability I try to keep but I always try to add some flair. ”

“I like the usual stores (Gap, Forever 21, Zara, H&M, Old Navy, BCBG, Banana Republic, and Victoria’s Secret catalogue) but my secret is dedication. I keep constant tabs (like daily) on these stores’ websites waiting for the prices to drop or special deals.”

” I also stop by most of them at least once a week (if not more) to check and see the latest thing that hits the sales rack. Shopping isn’t a task for me, it’s a joy!”

“I have a fashion blog on which I give ideas, offer fashion news, and post looks (some of my design). Check me out at www.delightfulebonygorgeous.blogspot.com.”

Today’s Bombshell is the aptly named Lynne from Brooklyn:

She says, “I’m also known as Akua (Native Name). I’m originally from Ghana, West Africa but I currently reside in Brooklyn New York.”

“.. My style is very classy with a bit of edge. I can also add a twist of preppy flavor depending on the occasion.”

“I also love authenticity so I sometimes add a touch of African print to my look to accentuate my style.”
