Today’s Bombshell is Syreeta from Baltimore, Maryland:
She types, “I would describe my style as classic with a trendy touch.”
“… I have fun mixing high and low end pieces with a splash of vintage.”
” I love to look “put together”.”
” I occassionally model for fun–it gives me an outlet and reason to put looks together I have swirling around in my head.”
” My blog needs serious updating but my site is sequinssilksandsuedes.com. Thanks for checking me out!”
Ok, will take a look!

He was submitted by daily reader, Rebecca, who writes, ” I’d like to submit photos of this guy I [used to date].”
” He wouldn’t ever submit his own photos so I thought I’d do it for him. “
“I think he deserves to be a Fashion Bomber of the day!”
” His name is Chad. He is from Boston, Massachusetts and his style is just jaw-dropping.”
” It’s dapper, bold, clean, classic and timeless.”
” He dresses so well he gives me the chills!”
” He is coming out with his own clothing line soon, Patterson & Co. and his Instagram name is @chadswade.”
Ok, I’ll check him out! I must agree–he’s one well dressed man!

Several industry fixtures were in attendance, including Bethann Hardison, Iman, June Ambrose, Emil Wilbekin, Lola Ogunnaike, Julee Wilson, Jessica Andrews, DJ Kiss, and many more:
Though most of our time was spent dining on (delicious) Halibut, broccoli rabe, and pizza, I did get a chance to chat with Janelle very briefly about the pressure she constantly feels to change up her look:
She said, “By nature we’re control freaks, and some of us have vision as well. But it’s up to you to stand firm and make sure that noone else’s vision comes before yours. You have the right to your imagination and the things that you want people to know about you. Everything is about timing, and when it’s time to [change things up], you’ll know that it’s time, and nobody else will be able to tell you that. It’s just really [about] not taking offense and just understanding that by nature we’re all oppressed. It’s in our mentality to control others when our own lives may not be going as such. I just don’t get upset.”
When I asked her if she plans to ever change her signature style, she walked away…though a little birdy told me that we may be seeing some slicked back ‘dos and color (!) with her new album. Stay tuned!
Today’s Bombshell is e-boutique owner Renita from Detroit:
She says, ” I think my style comes from my confidence.”
“… Growing up, I never had any confidence issues but I also never tried to stand out in a crowd. I was fine with just an “ok” appearance and being social with those around me.”
” Fast forward to college, I began to test what was out there to offer to plus size women & try to make it my own. I embraced my curves & started to flaunt them. I always liked to focus on one part of my body at a time, making sure I wasn’t doing “too much”.”
” If my cleavage was out, then my legs were probably covered or the dress was a little longer. Or if I showed my legs, I’d wear a higher cut top.”
” A year ago, I relaunched my online boutique for curvy women and I’ve kept the same philosophy.”
” When I get dressed its a fun process and I reuse a lot of my pieces because a lot of them are staples. Right now, I’m into fitted hats, a pop of a bright color, bodycons, camo, and making my accessories or makeup apart of the entire look. I’m not afraid to mix a few patterns or textures because I think that’s what can set you apart from the next person.”
Work that camo jacket! That might be my favorite look.

During Paris Fashion Week, I was asked by Kenya Hunt, producer of Pharrell’s I am Other You Tube Channel show, Style Hunt, to talk about my love of Paris, fashion, and what I was wearing that day:
Take a look below and let me know what you think:
I had just come from the Kenzo show earlier that day (reminisce on the Style Diary here). It was actually quite frigid in Paris, so I covered up with my denim with my J.Crew coat. Which jacket do you prefer?
Today’s fabulous Bombshell is from the wonderful Peach State! Take a look at Alicia from Atlanta’s looks:
She writes, ” I am a Senior Fashion Design student at Savannah College of Art and Design (Atlanta), graduating this spring.”
“… I am currently working on my senior collection and was recently awarded the M. Jack Anderson Emerging Talent Award presented by the National Black Arts Festival at their annual Fine Art and Fashion event hosted by Neiman Marcus.”
” I would describe my personal style as a modern blend of the old and new.”
” I love finding hidden treasures at local thrift stores…”
” and mixing them with more mainstream pieces.”
” I would consider myself a “fashion” chameleon.”
Fantastic! I love every little thing here. Can’t wait to see what you have in store.

She says, “I’m from Houston Texas but am currently living in New York City.”
“My style is “classic with an edge””
“Through my fashion I like to show people that you don’t always have to have the luxury brand to achieve a successful look.”
” You might see me rocking a designer piece mixed with something from Forever 21.”
“Style comes from within…”
“… you don’t always need a lot of money to look fashionable.”
” My look is everyday glam girl…”
“… with a bit of edge and a smidgen of sex appeal.”
Love it! Girl, give me that metallic pleated mini! So adorable.

Today’s Bombshell, Wendy, was born and raised in Kenya:
She writes, “Fashion bombshell is not something I’d ever have seen in my future, growing up. I was born and raised in Kenya, and I had always thought myself “too fat for fashion”.”
“I struggled with my weight throughout my teenage years and escalated when I moved to Canada for school in 2010, where most stores did not carry things in my size.”
“Health concerns in 2011 finally pushed me to take control and I lost almost 50 pounds.”
” I was suddenly able to afford a whole array of figure flattering clothes without breaking the bank, because I could suddenly shop at mainstream stores. And so it began. “
“I’ve since become a lot more confident and a lot less hung up on all the “fashion rules”.
“My style is very… feminine. I enjoy a cinched waist, a pencil skirt and an obnoxious heel. I think I exhausted my quota of ill-fitting clothes while I was overweight, and these days, fit is such an important thing to me. “
“I’m Christian, so I do try to be modest with my hemlines and necklines. I’m a little OTT sometimes – I have a friend who says I still have a big-girl personality… I think that’s a great compliment! Also, being African, I really enjoy colour and I wear brights all year!”
“I’m a student, and my budget is tight (TIGHT, I tell you), so I tend to shop Clearance Chic, but I’ve found such gems! It does take time, sorting through all the racks, but it’s always worth it. I bought this turquoise pencil skirt for $4.80!!! Can I get an amen?!”
Ok! I see lots of potential here and prefer your more colorful looks. Also, congrats on the weight loss!

It’s a fine Friday, so you know what that means: that’s right, we have a Bomber and a Bombshell for your viewing pleasure. Representing for the fellas is Roeman from New Jersey:
“… I love fashion and getting dressed, I dress according to how I feel or what I want to express.”
“Style is something that comes from within to the way you walk, the way you talk, everything needs to happen to create a style.”
” My style is Mine!”
” I don’t look to be better then the next or expect anyone to like what I wear, as long as I feel good, and I look good, I’m ready to start my day!”
Ok, Mr. Fashionisto! I like what you’ve got going here–you have a distinctive look, and you own it!
