Fashion Bomb Hair: Asap Rocky’s Oversized Rhinestone Hair Pins Have Captured Attention at NYFW

A$AP Rocky is living up to his “Fashion Killa, Trendy N*gga” title with his latest hairstyle. The Harlem rapper recently attended the Harlem’s Fashion Row Show and Style Awards on Tuesday in New York City, where he accepted the Virgil Abloh, “Icon of The Year” award.

Styled in a crisp white button-down, a bold yellow and black checkerboard tie, that he layered with a cream Celine cardigan and a black pleated skirt, A$AP appeared on the red carpet with style.

However, his hair accessories and style is what really stole the show. Sporting XL rhinestone hair clips attached to his freshly braided cornrows is what sealed the deal for the trendsetter. But are we surprised?

A$AP is full of bold moves, but this move in particular is still currently the talk of New York’s Fashion Week.

Could this be a trend for the future? That’s the current question and of course A$AP Rocky trendsetting style is helping to facilitate that conversation.

With a dominance in both masculinity and femininity, A$AP is a rapper who has confidence and isn’t afraid of trying new thing out.

It’s safe to say that A$AP Rocky has officially taken the role of leading the new generation of rappers to explore their own unique style with any disregards.

Bombshells, was A$AP Rocky’s hairstyle hot or hmmm?

Christian Siriano Celebrated His 15th Anniversary at New York Fashion Week with Bold and Modern Ballerina Silhouettes

It’s been a smashing 15 years since designer Christian Siriano, 37, debuted his first collection at New York Fashion Week, and to honor the celebratory moment, he showcased the most avant-garde designs with his celebrity fan base by his side.

From celebs like Quinta Brunson and Avril Lavigne, to the fierce Lavern Cox and singer Kesha- there was no shortage of stars in the Pierre Hotel last Friday.

Not to mention Australian singer Sia, who also performed “Shine Bright Like a Diamond,” in a light pink dramatized ensemble with a huge bow on top of her bangs that covered half of her face.

It feels like not that long ago when Siriano won Bravo TV Project Runway in 2008, and since then he has undoubtedly become a household name.

To commence his 15th Anniversary, he chose to stay true to his core by paying homage to his ballet background. Inspired by the world of ballet, we saw a variety of gowns with ruffles and tutu skirts, in addition to suiting that was layered with lace up corsets.

We also saw hints of ombre metallic in the most innovative and surprising way. Incorporating silver, gold and rose metallic in different variations, Siriano walked us through the future of balletcore, nodding to the younger generation of style stars.

His tulle gowns were perfectly draped and adorned with floral components for a fresh and fantasy like aesthetic. If anyone understands the power of femininity, it’s certainly Siriano who has proven time and again that he’s not new to this, but rather true to this.

It’s safe to say that Christian Siriano deserves all his flowers and more, and with his persistent effort to revolutionize the fashion world, his name will definitely go down in history.

Fashion News: Fashion Bomb Daily Releases Our First Magazine With Supermodel Jessica White as the Covergirl in Fashion Bomb Daily Shop!!

Fashion Bomb daily is excited to announce our first published magazine that debuted Saturday night at the Bomb Fashion Show, and this moment still feels dreamlike, and so surreal.

CEO, Claire Sulmers always envisioned herself being at the helm of a fashion magazine since she was younger, and 17-years after the inception of her fashion website, she is finally seeing the fruits of her labor in such a revolutionary way.

“As a teenager, I loved reading magazines, but frequently lamented that I never saw women who looked like me: women of color, with different shapes, sizes, and hair textures,” expressed Sulmers. “After working as journalist for several year then branching out as a blogger turned CEO, I don’t thing I would have ever imagined having my own magazine. But here it is!

Supermodel, Jessica White is the covergirl, and it only felt right to have a woman of color who’s been in the fashion industry for years to grace the front page of our magazine.

From modeling for Vogue and Harpers Bazaar magazine, to slaying the runway for legendary designers like Oscar de la Renta and Marc Jacobs, White has quite the roster of modeling gigs under her belt so when we asked her to be apart of this remarkable moment, naturally she assumed the position.

Unapologetically candid, White opened up to Sulmers about tapping into her soft girl era, trials and tribulations with her ex beau Nick Cannon, and the importance of spirituality and having faith.

In addition, readers will also get the opportunity to indulge in articles about the the team behind the Bomb Fashion Show and designers who each showcased their collection during New York Fashion week.

From Bruce Glen, and Don Morphy, to Allison Elizabeth Brown and Jolie Duzon, each Designer shared their inspiration and thought process behind their line in their personal interviews.

Solidifying the magazine concept, you can also revel in Claire’s lifestyle by reading about what’s in her Hermes Birkin bag, which is always a favorite component of any magazine.

Imperial Legacy Clothing Delivered Groovy Graphics at New York Fashion Week

We’re in the swing of New York Fashion Week, and the fashion, street style, runway stunts, and afterparties are not slowing down. Last night, emerging label Imperial Legacy presented its Spring 2024 show, aptly titled They Cloned Imperial? after the Netflix sci-fi thriller starring John Boyega, They Cloned Tyrone.

Photo: Salvatore DeMaio

Held at the Bogart House in Brooklyn, Imperial Legacy took fashion fans, editors, influencers and other attendees on an abstract fashion trip.

From the first look to the closing look, illuminating shades in impressionistic patterns riddled the runway. The color pallet wasn’t just a tip to the warmer months ahead, but an aid to the storytelling of this collection. These bold hues anchor the ’60s mod and 70s disco influences spotted throughout the lineup.

Much like the film the show takes its name from, Imperial Legacy Spring 2024 is a dynamic harmony of multiple styles across multiple decades.

With blockbuster influences and inspiration by their family, the label’s founders, brother and sister Faith and Marcus Smith, shook up fashion week with a vivacious collection that takes fashion on a time-traveling adventure.

Studio 189 Celebrates a Decade of Design with a Joyful Spring Collection of Illuminating Prints and Color

It’s been 10 whole years since Studio 189 ––the social enterprise co-founded by Rosario Dawson and Abrima Erwiah–– first took the industry on an electrifying ride through the African diaspora. From thoughtfully curated mixtapes to the runway, Studio 189’s mission has always been to support African brands and talents.

Photo: Daniele Oberrauch for Gorunway.com

This year marks what Erwiah describes as a “decade of purpose” and what better way to uplift every voice than to sing, and in this case, dance? The Spring 2024 show began with a word by Eve Ensler, beautifully sharing the mission of Studio 189.

The fashion that followed, handmade in Accra, Ghana, featured threads of tradition and years of storytelling that might have been new to the audience. Common Ghanaian fabrics were woven into modern skin-baring silhouettes from cut-out dresses, square-neck crop tops, and strapless jumpsuits.

A vibrant color story is common for most collections of the season, but the bright blues, electrifying oranges and sunshine yellows are intentional as well as illuminating. The cheery hues speak to the connection between Africa and its western diaspora.

The socially impactful brand had a message in every part of its show. From the opening words that shouted out the hardworking artisans behind every piece to the show’s backdrop mural that displayed their faces.

With joy as the radiating mood of the season, the show ended with a celebratory dance down the runway.

Sergio Hudson Taps Into Effortless 70s-Inspired Tailoring for Spring 2024

Since his first New York Fashion Week, Sergio Hudson has been delivering high glamor and body-conscious fits that his celebrity clientele (Keke Palmer, Michelle Obama, and Beyoncé, to name a few) know and love. For his latest collection ––dubbed Collection 12, but formally known as Spring/Summer 2024–– Hudson is sharing another side of his design talent.

Photo: Filippo Fior Gorunway.com

The presentation opened with a denim corset (similar to the style Jessica Alba and Veronica Webb wore recently) layered over a crisp white shirt tucked into plaid wide-leg trousers and finished with a dusty rose coat. Hudson is known for his sharp tailoring, which he pleasantly presents via bold shoulder 3-piece suits in glen plaid and houndstooth.

While the show opened with power-forward tailoring, body is always on the menu at a Sergio Hudson show. Denim vests and white shirts with ties flowed into sexy leather skirts and even a houndstooth longsleeve catsuit which we’re sure his main girl Keke Palmer will appreciate. In other parts of the collection, Hudson delved into themes inspired by the 70s. Disco-friendly squin skirts, with varying lengths from the popular micro mini to the more professional midi length, paired well with plunging bodysuits and see-through blouses.

Vivid and bright color stories are something we’ve grown to associate with the designer. Last season, we saw Hudson explore lustrous neon hues, and this season, he’s diving into jewel tones of rich sapphires, citrine yellows, and vibrant ambers. These beautifully bold colors bleed into more muted brown, maroon, eggplant, and olive.

The collection ends with what we’re referring to as light eveningwear. Chiffon dresses in rich tones with sheer tops and silk-paneled pleated skirts.
